In a couple of weeks we will be sailing out of Port Everglades on the Liberty and our hotel is a couple of miles from Los Olas Riverwalk in the Ft Lauderdale area. Has anyone ever been to this area? We wanted to walk around down there and maybe have dinner in that area. Any info about this area would be helpful. Thanks...

This is a great area, loooove it! Las Olas blvd is lined with high end boutiques , antique stores and many great restaurant, roadside cafes.....Live music at several bars, really fun. Also you must go along to Riverwalk...great restaurants, outside entertainment, lots of activity, craft stalls etc... right beside the lovely intracoastal waterway, Grab a water taxi from the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas to Riverwalk, or Beachplace....fun!!!

Thanks so much for the great info! We can't wait to see the area. We're from So Cal and have never been to Florida so we want to see as much of Ft Lauderdale area as we can while we're there. Thanks again.

I love the houses better but doubt you can see enough of them on foot to really get a good feel for this area. I could care less about the shopping, but loved to drive up and down these streets and look at the houses which are on canals, such a neat area.

Sheilb4 is right on with the assessment of the Los Olas Blvd area of FLL. We are also going on a Liberty cruise July 29th...our oldest daughter is getting married on the ship. We like the area so much that we decided to stay at the Riverside Hotel and we have a relatively large group of people who are staying there too. You will enjoy walking around this area, and there are plenty of upscale shops to see. Enjoy!!!
