**Live from Explorer 7/20**

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!!

For those of you that have been waiting for me to post sooner, sorry. I have not found a minute to do so (which is a very good thing!!) I have been sooooo busy!!!

My family and our 12 pieces of luggage (no lectures please) boarded the Explorer for the second time on Friday. We arrived at 9:30am (ok, I was very anxious to get there (always go that early)...especially after the train rides from hell getting there!!!) We had a great time chatting with all the staff at the terminal. I have to tell you, they are the friendliest group of people!!! Met a group from our thread there and that was wonderful! They opened check in about 10:30, and the busses came a little before noon. The whole process was a breeze, as always. They were guarding the hall doors to the rooms this time, so we could not even sneak into the room before 1. My room steward is the best one yet..Bernadette. Love her!!

We had our pre-M and M in the Viking Lounge (Cloud 9) at 3. That was GREAT fun to see everyone.

I want to interject here about the cruising and the Explorer...LOVE THEM BOTH!!!! I really enjoy this ship soooooo much and I love the way I am treated. Everyone on this ship is so wonderful..one person better than the other. The conceirge is Ricky, who was on our cruise last summer, and he is a DOLL!! So helpful and kind.

We have main seating. For those who always ask..IT IS VERY CASUAL FIRST NIGHT!!!! I would say 80% this time were in jeans or shorts. The meal was very good. We have a great window table on the 4th floor and our waiter and assistant are also the best 2 we have experienced.

We have spent alot of time in the casino. Let me tell you..loose as melting ice cream..lol. We have had had some fun for sure, and to thank them I gave most of it back..lol!!!

The weather sailing was windy and cloudy and raining, but I know I didn't care..I was busy and knew that the weather would get better. We arrived this morning in Bermuda and it was raining hard....30 minutes later it was hot and sunny. We did something we have never done..we didn't get off!! I was on deck at 8am and it was wonderful and peaceful.

Let's discuss food so far....well, maybe not, I am hungry. Ok, maybe a little. We had double shrimp cocktail last night..the filet was to die for!! The onion tart is not to be missed. The white chocolate fondue was incredible!! The cold pear soup was yummy. I will give more food details later.

There is just nothing like cruising, and I wish I could go into more detail, but I need to get to lunch and then to a manicure appt before bingo. Will post when I can and give a better review with pictures on my return.

Oh, to answer 2 questions to 2 different people that were posted for me, incase I can't get to your thread in the next few days and you are reading this...

the couples massage package is $325. I will write later what it entails.

yes the oranments are here..I took pictures of them that I will post on my return.

OH I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As of yesterday, the ice show day and times were not finalized...though not sure why. They don't seem to follow a strict schedule on those from crusie to cruise.

We LOVE Portofino and have booked that for Tuesday night. I will get the menu for those 2 dining room nights for you later when the concerige opens. Will probably not be able to post again till tomorrow as I expect the night to be busy.

Had my manicure, my stroll through the promenade, and even booked a cruise for next summer on the Marnier for the OBC. I LOVE the Explorer, but I am booked on her this Xmas, the following Xmas, and April 2009..so thought I would try her newer sister in between. As I was strolling and every staff member greeted me and I looked at the amazing 5th floor...I was just all smiles!!

Do you believe I have not even had a second to check out tonight's menu!!?? I will report what it is for you all once I have eaten almost everything listed on it...lol. Then right after, at 7:45, is the Crown and Anchor reception which we will go to. My daughter is presently at bingo.

Tonight is the RCL Singer and Dancers show and Battle of the Sexes. It is also 80s music in the dance club (I am a disco queen so I can't wait to 70's night).

Tomorrow is a sea day so I will have time to post at some point.

OH...a story!! I left my purse in the internet cafe and got a call from the front desk a lady had found it and brought it to the front desk!! I am having chocolate covered strawberries sent to her room tonight as a thank you.

Hi Everyone!!

Thank you for all your posts and warm wishes. Answers to questios asked first....

JLB ~~Yes there are Sunday services. My compass from yesterday is in the room and I am in the internet cafe (WiFi keeps having problems) so I will post the time(s) later.

NJBILL~~ I will tell you my train rides from hell (I am sure I am an exception) when I return because it is long or you can go to my 7/20 Roll call thread or just click on my previous posts to find out a condensed version of it.

Freeway ~~ At the M and M I won a cooler full of RCL stuff. Sandi won the mouse, I forget who won Portofino gift certificate, and Shari won champagne.

Ok, dinner last night was awesome. The strawberry soup was sooooo delicious and had pieces of mint that just gave your tounge such a treat!! The filet was so tender...I get it well done and I didn't need a knife to cut it. I have all the menus for the 9 day on a spreadsheet that I will post on my return. Too long to do now.

Was on deck at 8:15am at my favorite spot. The winds were high and standing was difficult but OMG it was incredible to lay on a chair with it blowing the heat away. It was what cruising was about..picture perfect...a pool deck, breezes, bright sun, and my new favorite drink (no alcohol) in hand...a coca loco. OMG it was sooo good. Its a passion fruit drink. I am fried..and I started with a nice base too. Saw so many of my CC roll call buddies out today..if you all don't post to your roll call threads, please do. It is wonderful to see people you know all day and night!!

The deck patrols were out in full force when I got on deck. After less than 30 minutes, unattended towels and belongings were removed..over and over again.

Was at the casino again. People were hitting jackpots left and right. We were there till 1am.

Today is the Blackjack Tournament (hubby is there now), hip hop lessons, belly flop contest and bingo. Tonight is the "duck" show, that I never would go to had not so many people said on these boards that is was hysterical!!

Staff here is just super!! Makes you feel so special.

Ok, I need to eat (again)...more later

((((.Denice.))))

I typed an entire page and it vanished whn I tried to post...boo

I cant seem to get back to reality and I'm imagining Im still on board. Im sorry we missed eachother @ Cape Liberty for that hug, but disembarking was like at the speed of light. DH, porter & luggage were at the truck in less than 5 minutes!! We drove back around once to see if we saw you or my friend Patty. btw...Have you seen a nice woman w/ short hair walking around calling your name? thats Patty.

Visit with Derrick for me!? Sky or pool bar, cant recall what he said, he was at the casino but told us he would be at one of those bars (dh wrote it down). Tell Derrick we'll see him nin December and he has some bling for ya'!! Have you scouted around for any crabs/turtles/jax or bling??

I'm dreaming Im on board with ya, hope you dont mind me hanging around waiting for you............

So fantastic to see another Explorer "Live" thread! We are going on the next 9-night EOS...

Can you answer a couple questions:

What time is the late dinner seating on the first night? What time is the show?

Can you post the time of the shows each evening?

What time did your luggage get to your cabin?

Thanks in advance! Your posts are wonderful!

What time did your luggage get to your cabin?

FYI: Our luggage arrived when we did. We didnt go to our room exactly @ 1pm....I dont think, but it was there as early as we were....we were there fairly early...Well before muster or before we stopped into Windjammer for our one-time buffet burger & fries!! lol (DH will recall the exact time) I hope Denice & family had the same experience! On all things like that the STAFF IS AMAZING...at getting your things to you, making sure your cabin is attended to timely and frequently, morning beverages to you in Windjammer immediately, the staff is super attentive!!!
