Denice,

I am now starting to pack for our trip next FRIDAY!!!!. I seem to have alot of sleeveless shirts. When you are in the casino or in the lounges, is it cold/ hot/ just right. Should I bring more shortsleeve instead or sleeveless. Do I need any long sleeves? I am definately going to overpack!! Thanks.

Hi all!!!

Soon ~~~ I bought the plastic generic (for my Oct cruise I did the Halloween bags and halloween candy), but decorated goody bags at the party store. I filled then about half way with candy (I think 6 kinds) and put $2 in them, then tied the matching twist ties around them. I can't tell you the postive comments I have always got...been doing this since our 3rd cruise. I always make sure cash is included.

Diva ~~~ OMG what fun we have been having!!! We have found many of the items and we crack up each time we find something!! The funniest thing is we were at the Deck 5 elevators looking and laughing saying out loud how silly we must look and all of a sudden this woman, waiting for the elevator, says "oh, I don't think you are silly, I think I know what you are doing." Turns out she is a "lurker" who has been following our 7/20 thread!!! Too funny!! Thank you sooo much for the fun!! We were laughing so hard during the search!!

The chamber was pretty busy last night, but I found enough room on the floor to dance!! lol

OK, we had the galley tour. It is open to Diamond and OS suites and above...just 1 small group can go, and only once during the cruise do they do it. There was about 36 of us. It was fasinating!!! Not only did we see the different kitchens, but everything was explained to us. What was more amazing is no matter how busy everyone was, EVERY SINGLE PERSON greeted us. It is really amazing at how these people are trained to make us all feel so special on this ship!! The tour was just awesome!!!!!!! I will post pictures on my return.

My CC friend and table mate's daughter won $1000 on the $1 Wheel of Fortune. As I stated before, there is plently of money to be won in the casino...right machine at the right time!!!

JLB ~~~ I am the wrong person to ask....I am ALWAYS hot and don't think there is anywhere on the ship that is cold. There are some people who seem to be, but its not me!!! I overpack (I am one who had 12 pieces for the 4 of us) but never with long sleeved anything!!! lol

Today we did something we have never done before, we ate in the dining room for lunch. It was very nice for a change. Then we did our hunt for the items, and went to the casino where the daughter had the hit. We played in the slot tournament (lost) and then came here.

Tonight is formal night. The menu looks great!!

I do want to get back home to reality (whoaaaa, did I just say that????) but I don't want this cruise to end!!!! I LOVE IT HERE!!!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed your tour:) I have to take a few more cruises before I can take the tour if they offer it. Can anyone pay the $55 and have lunch at Portofino's and then do the tour? I can't believe it's so close to the end. It doesn't seem fair. But I agree it's always nice to get back to the real world for a little while between cruises:D

Denise-

This has been an awesome trip for those of us following you along, feels like we're on the ship with you...unfortunately we're not!!

Can you find out the name (first & last) of the Maitre'd, my parents will be on the ship in 2 weeks and I want to arrange something very special for them which would require contacting him. Thanks in advance.

Denise, thank you for answering questions. One more please. Will a 11" thick suitcase fit under the bed for storage? Huby wants to know. Thanks

Joan

I just measured our suitcases - 12 inches thick. These suitcases have always fit under the bed! Sometimes we have had to lift the bed and situate the suitcase in the "right" spot to get it to work, but it did fit!!!;)

Demo ~~~ No plastic bags...just the plastic goody bag...the bags are decent size....buy the candy on sale, have a nice variety, and put a few bills on the top so they can be seen. We ordered 2 cheese platters last night and the guy who delivered said to me..do u still have the candy????? lol And I did!!! Still have a bunch left!!!

Cruis ~~~ yes they have splenda, we only ate in the dining room once so not sure about the variety...will try and get that info for you.

jlb ~~~ We have 12 pieces of luggage for 2 rooms and some are large...yours will fit perfectly under the bed as ours did..they are designed that way.

ork ~~~ our maitr'd was GERALD..he is a sweetheart!!!!!!!!!!!! We were at table 407, by the wiindow.

hi barry!!!!

Sorry I can't post any updates right now, but at least I got some questions answered. I was on deck at 8am in the sun, and 15 minutes ago it started POURING....so I figured I would come here..but now I need to go check outside. I will post either in a few hours after the sun, or in a few minutes if it is still raining!!!

Still raining..time to post...

So last night was formal night. Some men in tuxes..some in khakis. I just hope people know that they can dress however they like...as long as presentable and no jeans. The meal was AWESOME!!! I had a peach soup (OMG!!!!!) and roasted pineapple, and a prime rib that was not to be believed!! It was a great meal!! Afterwards (7:45) we went to the C and A Platinum/Diamond reception. It was very nice. We spent a lot of time in the casino last night, did alot of strolling around. Just a relaxing night..cheese platter at midnight...again not to bed before 2.

Hope to get sun this morning..at 2:45 is the new ICE SHOW, then bingo, dinner, casino, farewell show, meeting our CC group at the Schooner bar for drinks and pictures and sing-a-longs. So sorry this is coming to an end!!

Diva ~~~ more things have been found!! I have to tell you, I know why I never found anything before you told me where...not one of us were looking in planters...where the majority of them were!! We were all looking everyplace but!!! Too funny!!!

What a cruise! What a ship!! What staff!!!

WHAT FUN!!!!!

Ok, sun or no sun, I have things to do...will check in soon

We stashed alot in planters so no one else would find!! Thats was my opinion of why others used the planters & we just followed suit. Ah Ha!! It did work, at least cleaning staff didnt find. Did you find any crabs just hanging around?? LOOK UP.............In trees and such!!

Glad you're having an amazing cruise!!! Like we knew you would!!

Question about the goodie bags...do you give them out randomly or do you leave them for your room steward and give them if you order room service. Do you bring them to the dining room?

I think they are a GREAT idea...I'm just confused who to give them to.

Don't worry about finding out about the lunch menu in the dining room. If we eat in there once that's a lot for us. We just didn't like the lunch menu last time we went to the dining room and that's why I was wondering if it is the same each day...

Enjoy your last day!!! There is always so much I have to do that day to get it all in! And then the SAD job of packing!!!:(

It has been GREAT FUN sailing with you!!!

DS wants to know what time curfew is? Interestingly enough, @ 18yo you can drink wine & beer on board but they enforce a curfew? I wouldnt have known about this last week, we were sans the kids!! Thx for the update on it.

I thought the drinking age was changed to 21 for all alcoholic beverages on RCCL ships. Is that no longer true?

cruislovin...YOU ARE RIGHT!! Here is the quote from RCIs site. They changed it after our April 2006 sail. Last yr my daughter was 17 & had said if she was jsut a year older she could have ordered her own pina coladas! I was going on archaic info, my bad!!

By the way Im thrilled w/ their new policy!!

Food & Beverage

Q: Why do I need a beverage waiver?s.gifA: Effective as of all sailings commencing on or after July 28, 2006, the minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on all Royal Caribbean International ships is 21.

On cruises departing from European and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver (download the PDF form) allowing the 18 to 20 year old to consume alcoholic beverages.

The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without notice.

I am sooooo sad that I am leaving my girlfriend, the Explorer, tomorrow!! She and I have had so much fun and shared so much!!!!! I have had some great cruises, but this has been the best!!!

Answers:

Yes, the drinking age is 21 (thank goodness!!) Security is still

Sweetpea~~~ The goody bag for the room attendant I give out the first day (that is a much bigger one and has things in it beside candy) along with a cash tip. This is usually when I ask for anything special I might need in the room.

The other bags I keep in a closet and when room service or the laundry delivery person comes, I hand them to them but always say, for those who never have got one, that there is cash on the top so they know.

On the halloween cruise I made wayyyyy too many and ended up combining them and gave them to the waitress in Portofino and our waiter and asst waiter.

achac ~~~ I will definitly do my postive review of the cruise when I return...but won't be able to post after this till Monday late in the day.

For those of you who followed my train rides from hell and hubby and son's 4 hour flight delay to get to NJ, hubby decided to rent a car and we are driving the 10 1/2 hour ride to NC (12 hours with stops), so I won't be home till midnight tomorrow night. NO trains!!!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyyyy (love that man!!!!!)

So today was a cloudy day but the rain stopped about 1pm and I slept from 1 to 3pm on the deck. Dinner was excellent...and I am 3/4 done packing. Sooooooooooooooooo depressing!!! Then meeting CC people at 10:30 for drinks and laughs, and prehaps a few tears.

So this is my last post, and reading of the posts till Monday. I want to thank all of you for you warm wishes and support and following me through the cruise. I hope I was able to help some of you, and share with you the amazing time I had!! (can't wait to post for the 12 day holiday cruise!!!!)

CC is a wonderful place to share and inform and get to know so many of you, and I am so thankful for its existance.

I will post my review Monday (you know its all good!!!) and pictures then, or Tuesday at the latest. I need to review them...took too many.

"GET OUT THERE"

WHOOHOOOOO!!!!!
