beachbaby24 Posted August 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2007 I'm wondering if there are waverunners available on the beach at Labadee. We dont want to do a whole excursion. But can you rent them for a half hour or something like that? How much are they? How long do you get to ride them? Thanks! :)
sddsddean Posted August 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2007 Didn't see any earlier this year. I'm sure you have got to use the 'excursion' ones. What with how things are nowadays regarding 'compensation culture' etc, I can't see them letting you out on one on your own. Simon
Coco Loco Posted August 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2007 My dh just rented one on Labadee. I believe you have to do thru the excursion desk. They do a training session before everyone goes out. I don't think they let you on them without that.
Aubiecruiser Posted August 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 15, 2007 You have to sign up through the ship, then you are required to view the training video. After that, you go on the excursion with a guide taking the lead and another at the end. You have to stay in line and follow the one in front, no deviations and you have to maintain a safe distance from the one in front of you and the one behind you. You stop several times to group up and the pecking order can be adjusted so the riders that don't want to go fast are toward the back of the line. Absolutly no freelancing is allowed. It's a nice excursion and you find out quite a bit about Labadee and the area. The prices are available on the RCI website and the excursion, including training time is about 1 1/2 hours, with about an hour of riding. Magic Man Posted August 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 15, 2007 If your not a experinced rider on a personal watercraft, then this is not the excursions for you. I own 2 Sea- Doo and have riden for over 10 years and this exursion is in the ocean and is very rough riding.

My DH, DS and I all drove our own waverunner and none of us has ever been on one before and we all did just fine.

On Coco Cay do you get to go on your own or do you go with a group (follow the leader type)?
FOXTROT Posted August 15, 2007 #9 Share Posted August 15, 2007 Coco Cay & Labadee it's follow the leader. The only time I have ever done a waverunner is with RCCL. They are a lot of fun, but painful. They do jar your innards.
