pghsteelerfan Posted July 17, 2012 #380 Share Posted July 17, 2012 Hi any idea how to get the resin based ships sold in the gift shop usually between 21-24 $ Need to get the following Regal Princess.....know its in the P&O Aussie fleet Norwegian Dream Norwegian Pearl Norwegian Jade Carnival Fantasy Voyager of the Seas Soveriegn of the Seas Cheers Dave I was able to get mine (4 total) from Ebay, but it took me about a year to get them all. They aren't always listed and I had to keep searching, usually once or twice a week, to see if any were listed and they eventually were. Other collectors here on Cruise Critic may also be able to help you out with a trade or an offer to sell. Good luck. :)
modelman Posted July 26, 2012 #381 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Well Arte Nautica has a few new models that are looking exciting to me. They have produced models of the Windstar, Black Prince, Amerikanis, Atlantis/Emerald Seas and the latest Cunard Caronia (ex Vistafjord). I have only seen pictures, but I am very excited for these. It is about time some one finally modeled some of these ships, and these look lovely to me.. though I am most excited for the Amerikanis and Atlantis of Chandris Line. I think he will be listing them in his ebay store Artenautica Ship Shop You can also email to place orders at: artenautica@tiscali.it I think that other paint jobs will be available, ie Amerikanis in Costa colors, and Atlantis as Emerald Seas or Ocean Voyager. I'm trying to hunt it down on eBay and asking people onboard. I sure hope they didn't discontinue all of these. :(
modelman Posted September 20, 2012 #383 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Well this might be more detailed and of higher quality and price than you are looking for, but Scherbak models has a lovely 1:1250 scale waterline models of the Caribbean Princess. It is 89.00 including shipping http://scherbakshipmodels.tripod.com/id138.html

Royalty X Posted November 19, 2012 #388 Share Posted November 19, 2012 Does anyone have a model of the Monarch of the Seas (the ones sold onboard) and if so, can you please post some pics of it? Thanks! :)
Royalty X Posted November 19, 2012 #389 Share Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) Latest pic of the collection, though the top shelf did not make it into the frame.. I am still amazed how large the Oasis is. Hi modelman, you have an amazing collection! I was just wondering if your Oasis is the one they sell on board the ship? If so, can you please tell me how long it is? I've seen two listed on eBay and one was apparently 12 inches long and the other was 16 inches long. I'm not sure which to believe... :) Edited November 19, 2012 by finetuneit
modelman Posted November 20, 2012 #390 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Mine was not purchased on board, but is rather a 1:1250 scale waterline model by Scherbak Models, which is much more detailed than the ones sold on board. My model of Oasis is in the 12" range. Radiance, Voyager, Navigator, Freedom, Oasis

dagama10 Posted December 22, 2012 #392 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Princess ship models come up quite often on Ebay. They're usually not expensive as the models are rather small (approx. 6"). Good luck.
Airbear232 Posted February 12, 2013 #393 Share Posted February 12, 2013 Latest pic of the collection, though the top shelf did not make it into the frame.. I am still amazed how large the Oasis is. Wow, what a beautiful collection!!! Did you go on all of these! That would be even more impressive. My DW and I have started our own collection that was up to 5 until a large storm in the form of our 15 year old dusting the furniture knocked them down causing damage to the bridge of the Explorer of the Seas and "sinking" the Norwegian Gem. Oh well, we're back on the EOS in a few weeks, so we might get a replacement! Cheers, Aaron
choirlady Posted February 13, 2013 #394 Share Posted February 13, 2013 So how many models do you actually have??? I have about 10 and I thought that was a lot . . .
modelman Posted February 19, 2013 #395 Share Posted February 19, 2013 I have over 300 1:1250 scale waterline models. I probably have another 100 or so other models, from resin "Montego" models to cermaic "Passport" models, and many random wood ones as well. What can I say, I love ocean liners and cruise ships, and I have always loved models..

Every ship/model has its own story.
modelman Posted February 22, 2013 #397 Share Posted February 22, 2013 While I love all my 1:1250 scale models, I think my favorites are a group of wooden models by a company called Riwag. They were produced during the 50's and 60's and were sold on board the liners. They are approximately 1:900 scale, are all waterline, and are well painted with lovely decals. Of these, I think I like my Queen of Bermuda, my United States, and maybe my Lurline best.. Here they are in a case, not the best picture sorry. DeloreanGirl Posted February 24, 2013 #399 Share Posted February 24, 2013 My Caribbean Princess is suuuuuuuper tiny. :( It doesn't match the rest. But a nice CC'er got it for me onboard. My next trip is on NCL Pearl and I fear NCL doesn't have models! :( (Star Princess, Vision of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas, Disney Magic, Caribbean Princess, Freedom of the Seas, Carnival Destiny.)
