I'm sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.

A gentleman in my area has one of these for sale and I wanted to pick one up for my grandpa. Does anybody know what they usually run?

They vary in prices. Just email and ask them for a quote.

Well, I was just hoping to get an idea of what they vary by. Like would 400 be too much?

Unless you are getting a large model, yes I would say that is too much. The man is very helpfull and I would just email him and ask him directly. He will respond quickly and give you pictures and a quote as well. All models come with a case for display.

Well I'm looking for a model of the Carnival Miracle, the kind sold on ship for 25-30 dollars, if you have one or are going on the Miracle please let me know. I'll send price + postage + something for your trouble.

Just a heads up. I saw this on e-bay. I thought I would post it seeing how it is the newest ship in the fleet! I have a personal rule where I only collect the ones I have been on. So that is why I am comfortable sharing with everyone else.

My DH boughta model of the Queen Mary 2 at a hobby store here. It was the kind you put together. He really enjoyed building it as it was very challenging. When he finished he mentioned that it would be great to have models of the Carnival ships we've been on. But he would like the kind that you have to build. Does anyone know where I can find this? I have checked Ebay and all over the internet.

I too have enjoyed the QM2 model, and enjoy building them... I have looked everywhere... and only could find, Aida, and QM2 plastic models... too bad :(

Anybody???

Well I have seen diecast models of the Carnival Pride and Spirit, but not the Legend. They are normally available on Ebay for $40.00 or so. They are much nicer metal models than the resin ones offered on other ships.

Just off the CB, and among the stuff they were selling during the 50 percent off day were models (small) of the Tahitian Princess, presumably because she'll be renamed the Ocean Princess.

The price of the model was $9.99, with a 50 percent off sticker on it. After consulting with the manager, I got the ship for $4.50 because of the sticker.

Apparently, the $9.99 price _was_ the discounted price. It was odd because the same size model of the Caribbean Princess was $12.99. So you mean to tell me that the Tahitian Princess normally retails for $20, when a much larger sized ship model usually goes for $25?!

(Incidentally, I never did buy a CB model; so the model from my cruise is the Tahitian Princess. I was on a tight budget, unfortunately. It was for the same reason that I got a wind-up Disney boat over a Wonder model, which I like better because the toy has Mickey and Minnie on the back.) :D
