Rare Smokeyham Posted August 19, 2008 #252 Share Posted August 19, 2008 CM models makes a 1:1250 scale model of the Rotterdam V. The model is available here http://www.collectableships.com/models/CM.htm Now there is a model of her by Montego Products that was made in the 80's that might once in a while come up on ebay. It is larger, maybe 1:900 scale, made of resin and has the blue hull she had more recently, though now the real ship is back to the grey hull as she is renovated in Rotterdam for use as a hotel ship. Thank you so much! I'm going to order this, which will make my collection complete!! Gordon
modelman Posted August 28, 2008 #253 Share Posted August 28, 2008 Beautiful new models of the Norwegian Cruise Line Ships from Scherbak Models. Included are the different subclass, Dawn & Star, Gem & Pearl, Jewel & Jade. All have the different hull art as well as any architectural / structural differences. I personally have the N. Dawn and think it is a great model. Norwegian Jade Norwegian Pearl

spedteach Posted October 19, 2008 #255 Share Posted October 19, 2008 Would you settle for an old-style ceramic model of Monarch's sister ship, Sovreign Of The Seas? I got it off of Ebay and used it as a substitute for another sister ship Majesty Of The Seas (until I got a resin Majesty also from Ebay). Dagama10 Dagama10 Do you still have it? If not does anyone else have one. We just went and the store was out of them. We would love to get one for our collection. dagama10 Posted October 19, 2008 #256 Share Posted October 19, 2008 Hi Julie, Yes I do! I periodically check this section on Cruise Critic specifically to see if anyone still wants it. I got it off Ebay for about $30 a couple years ago and it's in the same condition (missing the forward mast). I've sent an email to you so we can discuss. Thanks, dagama10
CollectorUK Posted November 13, 2008 #257 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Guys, some German manufacturers also do nice 1:1250 waterline models of cruise liners (similar to Scherbak but made of metal and somewhat cheaper). Check out www.wiedling.de and under ships select maker CM and CMKR. I have their P&O Arcadia which is really good. best wishes to all 'CollectorUK'

Tatka Posted December 20, 2008 #263 Share Posted December 20, 2008 I think the ship models we have are our favorite souviner from each ship...still too bad we didnt think to get one from Caribbean Princess:( We had to ask our friend to buy and mail it to us.. at that time we weren't collecting them. But we got all the ships except Mercury and then some. Princess's models are much smaller than all others, they even cost $12 instead of $25. I don't know why Princess can't make standard. Tenderpaw Posted December 30, 2008 #268 Share Posted December 30, 2008 We started the ship model buying late in our cruising...looking for someone that might have the following, if they exist of the resin models: Rotterdam, Norway, Rhapsody of the Seas, Disney Magic (greatly desired), Century (our honeymoon cruise 11 years ago)!, Norwegian Sea. I would pay for someone's cost in shipping and purchasing these (of the current models). Please contact me-I would love to surprise my husband.
