Ocean Players Club - Perks?

Mickey Mommy

Recommended Posts

Last week, I registered on the Ocean Players Club website. I just received the following e-mail and I was just wondering if anyone received any "perks" from doing this, and if so, what?

Hi CK,

Thanks for contacting the Ocean Players Club!

We're glad to hear your sailing again! We have placed you on our OPC guest list for your upcoming sailing. Hope you have a great cruise, and the best of luck while spending time in the Casino!

Best Regards,

Dena T. Williams

On our Fantasy cruise a couple weeks ago, we got $15 photo coupon(brought it to us the 1st night in the dining room), chocolate covered strawberries in the room upon arrival and a free drink every night we were in the casino...but I am sure the free drink isnt as common as the other "perks".

Just curious, how did they know to give you a free drink? I tried introducing myself as some have suggested, and they just looked at me kinda funny.:D :o

I sent a letter to the casino host and to Carnival and when we got to the cabin I had room decorations and a fruit basket and keyfob. Thanks to the CC board this is where I got the idea. Of course i did terribly at the casion. We were the first for the Greek Isle tour and the machines were so tight the money screemed when you put it in!

I was on that cruise too and I have to agree the Casino was not good to me

However, to the OPs question. I usually let the OPC know that I'm coming and have had lots of the same perks, plus a waterproof wallet, and usually at least 1 free drink every night. I spend 100 - 200 a night in the Casino, depending on if is a port day or sea day and my perks have steadily gotten better over the years.

The perks you receive are based on your level of play. If you play slots always have your card in the machine. Join the Ocean Players club and always notify them of your cruise plans. You will be awarded freebies based on your level of play. If you play table games to be rated you must play at least $25 action per hand/roll of the dice to be rated. I would guess slots are based on total dollars at risk per hour to obtain a rating. I do spend lots of time at the craps or blackjack tables. So after listening to members here I joined the O.P. club and it has worked out very well.

We receive chips at the casino cage on day one based on our play from the last cruise. We also receive a fruit basket, chocolate covered fruit, cabin decorations, free drinks as requested and one bottel of wine delivered at dinner on the last night.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise.

I play craps when i am on board, normally 1-2 hours per day $15-$50 per hand, the best perks i have ever had was some free drinks and a goodie bag containing polo shirt, t shirt, cap, cards, beach bag. which i have had to ask the host for at the end of the last 2 cruises.

After reading some of your threads i called OPC and this is what i now have waiting for me on my next cruise on 11-18-08.

$400 cash to be picked up from the cage on the 1st night.

VIP linepass when i board the ship

Bon Voyage gifts in my room (dont know what this will be)

Booking for 2 in the supper club

This is all based on the play i had on the last cruise, which i did not play much in the casino on that cruise due to sailing with a lot of family and friends

If I did not read this thread i would have been none the wiser.

The other day i read if you have CCL stock you get OBC, the next day i bought 100 CCL share, and over my next 4 cruises i have $500 OBC.

Why does Carnival let us know about these perks

If you don't mind me asking - what was the phone # you used to call the Carnival OPC? I contacted them (from their website) before my last cruise on the Valor - no response. I earned quite a few points at that time, which, added to the points I got on the Destiny, is now over 14,000 points. I want them to know I am sailing on the Freedom in Dec. Thanks for your help.

Just go to their website and hit the cruising again link. When it asks for your OPC member # just put in all 9's (999999999) that will do the trick. Just got back monday from the Fantasy and had Chocolate Strawberries in the cabin at embark then at dinner first night got a photo coupon. I introduced myself to Touilie the casino host and she bought me drinks constantly.

Wow, I don't even have that much to loose, I'm glad they gave you at least $1900 back - and that was 10%! You deserve much more than a few drinks! They'd have to pull me up out of the ocean if I ever lost that much money in the casino! LOL

I thought I joined the OPC on my last cruise, but I didn't get a special card, I thought they used my S&S card. Is the OPC card and the S&S the same? Is the number on my S&S the OPC number? I think the S&S has 1 extra digit.

Thanks,

I'm not sure. I wonder if you get a separate member card, maybe like the ones you get in the Atlantic City Casinos?

I just went online and signed up. I assume they will send me an email with my registration number. The next step (according to the website) is to THEN let them know when my next cruise will be. I never realized I had to sign up for the Oceans Club. As soon as I get my OPC number I will contact them.

Thanks to everyone who let me know about this! :D

I just called OPC and they told me the sail and sign card is the players club card and they have kept track of my points that way. They told me there will be a Bon Voyage basket waiting in my stateroom and they alert the casino that I am comming which probably means free drinks. On my last cruise I was always offered free drinks while I played the slots. Thanks to this post I will now have a couple of other perks to go along with my slot playing habit. :D

Well, I'm certainly not a high roller. I play the slots, but don't spend hours and $$$$ in there.

I did register and tell them when I was sailing.

I don't even know what the casino host should look like! When I joined on my last cruise, they offered no drinks. Just signed me up.

Do I just walk up to someone and say, "Hi, I'm xxxx and I'm a member of the Ocean Players Club!" and hope they ask me if I'd like a cocktail? ;)

There is a membership card and membership number coming BUT you can only receive it onboard the ship. The Fantasy had the equipment to make them this last time but Miami forgot to send the ink cartridge for the printer to make the cards. Hey Rob, her name is Thuli but you were close.

This program sounds interesting, so I went to their website to read up on it. I see there are 4 levels of membership based on the ammount of play over a 24 month period. What I could not find was the breakdown of the type of perks to expect per level.

Without necessarily asking how much you gamble, could any of you provide some insight into what to expect at each level. IE, when I was an Ocean Player, I didn't get any free drinks, but I got a tote, etc....

Just trying to get an idea of what level of service to expect. I guess put another way, how do these comp programs compare to tradional Vegas casinos?

I did not take advantage of this on my first cruise, I hope to on the second!

Go to the home page on click on About the Club at the top, then click on membership and benefits and it will give you the breakdown.

I talked with OPC and found out in order to receive benefits you must be in the casino at least 4 hours a day and spend at least $50 each day. I know you'll receive a OPC card on the ship which will be showed before each play in the casino but does anyone know how OPC keeps track of what you spend in the casino?

Thanks,

Cassandra
