We are booked on the 8*30*08 Glory and we are staying at the Raddison in Port Canveral- 129.00 per night and that includes parking for the week and breakfast plus shuttle to and from the boat. It's not bad.

Does anyone have capers of the Western I'll be doing? The 2 sea days, 4 ports (Coz, Belize, Roatan & Freeport).

Anyone done that itinerary recently who can tell me which are the formal night? The two sea days?

I'd like to make supper club reservations for a night other than a formal night.

Somehow, somewhere there is information.

I saw the thread recently. Without the search function, the only way to find it currently is to just browse through the recent threads (they get pushed back to other pages really quickly).

I have read on past capers that Sunday and Thursday are the formal nights. Here's a link I have for the most recent capers that I've found out there from Dec/07...

Oh wait, different itinerary, sorry, but I believe it will still be Sunday and Thursday

We are currently booked for the New Year's sailing of the Glory on the western itinerary. Our booking for now is the 6:15 dinner time in the midship dining room (at least that's my understanding). We have a 9a aft and would like to see some nice sunsets, but don't really want the late seatings. Which is better, the 5:45 PM or 6:15 PM for the sunset each night (which should be right around 6 PM ship time)? Just wondering...

Thanks so much! How did you like the eastern itenerary? We were trying to figure out what the heck to do without spending the money with Carnival to book an excursion in St. Martin and St. Thomas. We made that mistake once and will never do that again.

St Thomas & St Maarten are our favorite islands. No need for big money to have fun. Our 2/2 sailing, the most we spent in port, was at St Thomas...$32 for cab fare to/from Megans Bay, $8 entry fee, $16 for two drinks and some french fries. On St Maarten, we took the water taxi to the main beach and spent $10 for two chairs and an umbrella. Bahamas, we stayed on the boat...lost nothing in Nassau;)

Some of our Roll Call friends on the Miracle were platinum. We were all going on a tour together. They said they were taken to a lounge and all walked through immigrations together, so, yes, Platinum doesn't have to wait for the long line.

We beat them off anyway. Silly me ued my phone as my alarm and it automatically updated to island time (an hour ahead). I wondered why I was heading down to immigrations while we were still a ways from port! :o

There is a large parking garage which charges $12 per day, cash or credit card. It cost us $84 for the week.

We were there in January, 2008 and it was $105. payable in advance. They do not take Amex. They warn you to not leave anything edible or a soda can in your car or it will be overrun with ants when you get back.

If we go out of Port Canaveral again I would stay at a local motel and leave the car there. We stayed a couple of hours away and drove in that morning.

We enjoyed the Glory. Had a great upgrade to a Cat 12 suite. That was a treat! My husband got sick the second day so we didn't do a lot.

It was our first Carnival cruise. i definitely would cruise Carnival again.

We had a great table at dinner and the folks made me feel comfy and welcome even though I came alone. The doctors in the infirmary were

very helpful.

I'm ready to go again when everyone is well!

Does anyone know if they still do laundry for you, for a fee? From what I remember the Glory does not have laundry facilities but at mid-week you have an option to have your steward wash some stuff. I find this a better option than buying and bringing 7 pants per male. Does anyone know the prices?

The Glory has washers and dryers. They do laundry and dry cleaning.

And they have a bag special for laundry for $15. for as much as the bag holds. That was on Thursday I believe.

Had to have my dh suit drycleaned and thought that they were quite reasonable.

The Radisson has a shuttle that takes you to the ship and picks you up after the cruise to get your car.

On the ports of call board, there is a ton of info about shuttles, etc.

I wouldn't book a return flight until after noon.

Hmmmm, our cruise mates made reservations for us all in the Emerald Room for the second formal night on the Apr 5 Western sailing and was told it was Thursday. I suppose they can change it as they feel like it.

In Jan formal night was Wed on Western but we also only had 3 ports. Costa Maya was cancelled and nothing was substituted for it. That could be the change in formal night.

Try the Champaine Sunset Cruise in St Thomas.. $59.00 a person, Its on the same dock where the Glory is Tied up.. Its about Two hours long, beautiful sunset, and it goes around a island near the Ship, when it gets dark, you see the Glory all Lit up sailing around the corner of an island... worth the trip !Plenty of time to get back on the ship before it sails no rush...

Fot those staying at the Radisson and wanting to use their shuttle service to the pier, you must sign up for this free service before midnight of the day before you need it. Actually, you can call them right now and get your name on the list ahead of the rush. They have already starting taking shuttle reservations for bookings in 2009! Mine is for next month and I reserved my spots for the shuttle sometime last month. Just give them a call today and cross that off of your things to do list :D

Glory and Conquest are identical with the exception of the Decor. Glory was launched in 2003 and I think Conquest was launched in 2002.

Trying to see if anyone has ever stayed in Suite 7330 and if they've had any complaints/comments, did you love it? Also, the VIP check in, how did that go, how was dis-embarkment with having an upgraded category?

So many questions...But looking forward to the cruise. Thanks in advance for your responses!:D

I couldn't see if this was replied to yet or not... but we had the 6:15 in the Golden, [midship] the sun was setting around 7pm, so we missed it every night.

if your sunsets will be 6-ish, take the 6:15 seating and just show up after the sun sets.
