12 days of Christmas Promo......Coming soon !

How do they manage to pick all the dates that I CAN'T sail?;)

I just looked at the first offer and none of them work for us. Even the offers around our winter and spring break are a week or two off either way. I know someone must have vacation at that time but it sure isn't me!

I was dissapointed, period, in the special call in offer. I wanted something locally like out of Galveston or New Orleans. The cruise out of Port Canaveral I saw about 4 months before last September when I was looking for $169 pp, now its a special deal for similar for $179. Prices are up up and away this year.

I also hope they have a special offer for balcony cabins.

So far you arent missing much. lol

I do see they changed the "regular" price, said $499 when they first posted it last night, now it says regular price on the bonus offer is $279.

You're right. Not too much to get excited about. Maybe they are just warming up for the BIG deals later this week.

Thanks for the link.

I did sign up to get the e-mail "reminders" about the 12 Days of Christmas Sale, but I still haven't seen anything in my inbox, and I am having it sent to an address that shouldn't be filtering it into SPAM. Although I have to admit that I don't feel like I am missing anything, so far. I'm with the rest of you on not finding any dates and sailings that work for us on "Day 1".

Here's hoping that some other day out of the dozen is more promising . . .

Nope, I hoped with signing up I would get their sale emails on this at least, but nope. I think Carnival has a bug in their email system big time.

I found the sale and special of the day though by accessing the sale just after midnight eastern time last night.

Thats odd...I signed up and got the email notification today. But its just as easy to check the site.

Can anyone explain the 2 category upgrade for the Imagination on Day 6? If I'm booking the 1A (upper/lower, cheapest available), will I be upgraded to a different category, or not worth waiting to book?

Usually you have to book a 4a or above. 1a CABINS arent included. Say if you book a 4a you would be bumped up to a 4c. So you get to move up 2 decks on the ship. Not a big deal to most.

At least there are two of us that seem to be unable to get the e-mails from Carnival. I have no problem getting them from their sister company, Holland America, and even had one in my inbox from them about an upcoming sale. Go figure!!

Thanks for telling me about accessing after midnight EST. I really want to look at a 5-night sailing in the Summer and it looks like Thursday's sale is the one for us. However, I have a hundred and one things to do on Thursday, and I was struggling with when I was going to even have a chance to look at the CCL website. Now I'll plan on looking at it at 11 p.m. on Wednesday night (I'm in Central time zone.), and I can have the vacation booked before I go to bed (or I will know that there really isn't a "sale" that works for us).

Today's bonus is about balcony cabins. There are NOT a lot of sailings included though. :o

It's understandable that a business will only discount those sailings that are less desirable to help fill those ships. Why discount sailings that would go for nearly full price in the end (like Spring Break or July 4)?

TIP: To get all of the mailings from Carnival, make up an additional free account (like hotmail), register it for mailing info with Carnival (not just for the 12-day sale) and then NEVER use that email account when you book. That way, Carnival's mail system assumes that you are a new customer and sends you all of the sale notices throughout the year. ;)

The 12-day sale apparently only covers Jan-May 2008 cruises. TIP: If you booked early (like a year before the cruise you want), you could have had these rates already.

This "sale" only serves to highlight how good the sale was last year. :(

Given the "fuel surcharge" (aka, price increase), Carnival apparently believes that people are NOT smart enough to consider the additional cost when comparing against other cruise lines. They may be right.

Given that the "sale" is limited in depth and time frame, Carnival apparently believes that they don't need to have a real sale to fill all of their sailings. They may be right.

As for me, I'll keep looking for the real bargains. And when I see one, I'll let others know where to find it! :D

Less than 40 days away from my last?? Carnival cruise...

I just talked to my PVP about the $200 off for 2008 winter sailings. Dec 2008 is not a 2008 winter sailing lol. I cant win for losing. It has to be THIS winter. Dec 2007 is consider a 2008 winter sailing for the $200 off and I cant book right now until things clear up here, if you booked this winter now you would have to be 100% sure because final payment is due for anything they allow you to book.

She said there is one coming up that maybe I can use, she is watching for me out of Galveston. I told her to pass along my displeasure that so little of the sale seems to apply.

PS thanks but no thanks, I refuse to maintain a separate non wanted email addy just to get Carnival emails. Carnival needs to fix their problem.

Just for the record, I believe I was required to pay the total amount when I booked through the bonus deal last year. I think that was one of the requirements of getting the deal. The cruise I booked on that deal was for March 24, so that was 3 months after the booking, but still required to pay the total amount. So be prepared for this if you book a bonus deal.

I figured booking for NEXT December wasn't going to be an option. Oh well. I'll keep watching them and, if I don't spend too much in a couple of weeks (or win big in the casino :D ), I'll book then.

I registered to get the email updates at FunShipIsland and got the first one yesterday, and one this morning.

Used the same address they have on file and I'm sailing in <2 weeks.

I've noticed that the "deals" are for a lot of upcoming cruises. That stinks that Winter 2008 isn't included for you. I've seen a couple that actually coincide with our children's early Spring Break, but we aren't financially prepared to cruise that soon.

She said there is one coming up that maybe I can use, she is watching for me out of Galveston. I told her to pass along my displeasure that so little of the sale seems to apply.

Galveston is a bit further than we really want to drive, but if the "deal" is good enough, we might consider it. We really need New Orleans.

I am completely with you on this comment. I don't have a cruise booked, but I have never booked my Carnival cruises directly with them, either. When I checked on prices with CCL, about two or three years ago, I was getting e-mails from them, and then they disappeared . . . forever. I'll just keep logging onto their site to check the daily special, instead of signing up for e-mails, again.

Did anyone happen to capture the sailing dates for the first offer? We will be on the Victory Jan26th. It's a music cruise and I don't see getting too much R&R which is great by me. That being said hubby would like to spend a few days in Florida before we fly home to rest-up. After looking at beach hotel prices you might as well be on a ship where they feed you. So we were looking at the Feb 1st sailing of the Fascination from Miami. This will be our first time on Carnival and I wasn't aware of the Christmas sale. I guess you'd call it a B2B??? I was just wondering if we missed a deal, the dates offered seem so limited.

Thanks

Colleen
