Thanks for posting the CruiseReport link. It seems to have errors and omissions as well...

We are sailing on the QE2 out of New York next saturday, and CruiseReport only lists the NCL Gem in port.

Although the QE2 is due to retire this autumn, I don't think they should omit the most famous ocean liner in the world!

Good thing we don't all like the same thing. There were times when I would go to CruiseCal to see out of curiosity who would be in with us but sometimes found when that day came some ships did not appear. When my friend is on a ship I always know where he is anyways becasue I know what the itineraries are that he is doing. We don't pick our cruises based on who else is going to be in port with us. Its based more on a itineray maybe we haven't done in a couple of years or in the case of last October's trip on Veendam we had never done Canada/New England and only having to fly one way to Montreal was a plus. When the cruise was over we were literaly home. It was a 12 day trip with 5 days at sea including the last 2 days. Our last port was Charleston. Then we continued down the east coast, right by Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Then around the Keys into the eastern Gulf of Mexico to Tampa. This year we are doing a similar trip on Eurodam starting in Quebec City but ending in Ft. Lauderdale and 2 days longer. Some ports will be the same but some will be new. Also a chance to go back to NY and Boston where we have only been to starting or ending trans Atlantic cruises. Be a chance to see a friend in Bostson we haven't seen since 02. After this one maybe we will go back to Alaska in 09 or do another Trans Canal trip. When it comes to our Holiday cruise we always book on board for the folling year as we do the late summer trip and our TA gets the booking. We use Cruise Specialists in Seattle. Its always a crapshoot becasue we always want to be with my freind for the Holidays and its imposible to know where he will be. As long as we have enough notice when we know where he is we change ships. We changed ships last June when he called after he was back so that was plenty of time to change ships and get the same cabin for both weeks. One reason for not being with him would be if he ended up on a ship is in a area that we can't get to him becasue its too far like South America or Australia & New Zeland.

Maybe on the 13th we will go down to the pier at Channelside and watch Veendam leave. Then drive out to the north Skyway fishing pier to see her go under the Skyway bridge for the last time for the season as Captain Albert takes her out to sea and to Alaska for the summer. Heck when she came in for the first time last October we were on board. What a cool feeling that was as I said when we came in under the bridge that night (yes I stayed up and always do), "Veendam, WELCOME HOME!!!!!!! We helped bring you home for a another season in Tampa". Veendam means a lot to us as she gave my friend his 20 year sevice pin and our 500 day medallions on Jan. 1, 2006 at the Mariners party. My freind is the one that put the medallion around my neck right after being awarded his pin in front of all the Mariners on board. I was on cloud 8 that day.

Brian (posts on CC as "bs kc") has added a monthly option - $3.00 per month.

Well, that might work for me if I needed information on a one-time basis while planning for a cruise.

I'll be sorry to miss just casual browsing, though. It was fun but non-remunerative. In some ways I'll be better off not having yet another website to spend time on.

I guess I'm just slow, but I don't think Carnival is being the bully at all. I have no idea how many ships dock there a week, maybe 8? If each ship has an average of 2000 people on board at $5 a head that's $80k USD a WEEK, and like $160k BZD. Where is this money going and why isn't it being used to maintain or improve the tender vessels? We liked Belize a lot even with it's third world issues. The people there were the nicest people we have encountered in the Western Caribbean and we would have gone back for that reason. But dang if someone is out there making like $4 million USD a year JUST off these tender fees I don't think it's too much to ask that they occassionally improve or replace their vessels and I think a lot of them have not been maintained properly. We were left bobbing like a cork for over an hour on our way back to the ship in Belize (2004.) We had to transfer to another tender in the middle of the ocean. I realize that Americans have high standards but there's a reason for that. Just because they didn't "sock away" any of those millions to improve their ships isn't our fault. I really hope they can work this out, if Carnival caves then what stops every port from doing this?
Cruisecal was never terribly accurate. I won't miss it.
That is my take also. Take our stop in Helsinki this summer, crusiecal shows only my ship, the Rotterdam in port but if you go to the Helsiniki port site there are six ships in port .
