Keryel Posted April 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2008 My family will be taking our first RCI cruise in July on Liberty. We've previously cruised on Disney where free soda was not an issue. What are options for free beverages during and in between meals? (I'm assuming we can obtain ice tea, lemonade, water?) I'm debating on soda cards for my teenagers, but wanted to see what free options are available.
cruisePRN Posted April 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2008 Nothing is free, but some things are included in your fare. Ice tea and lemonade are included soda is an extra charge.
cb at sea Posted April 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2008 Basically, any "water-based" drink is included. You can buy sodas without the soda card and if you only drink one now and again, that's the most economical way to go. A can runs $2.01 (includes tip!) jeh4554 Posted April 3, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 3, 2008 We just got off the Liberty on Saturday. I was very disappointed that iced tea is no longer offered in the Windjammer. I requested it at dinner in the dining room and through room service and received it at no extra charge. However, the only drinks that were available in the Windjammer were fruit punch, lemondade and water. (I never asked in the Windjammer if I could order a glass from the wait staff because they were always very busy. I am just reporting what was poured and available at the drink stations.) CedarburgCruiser Posted April 3, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 3, 2008 IF your teenagers drink a lot of soda the Soda card is worth it (based on $2.01 per can with a tip). If they only drink a little then do not do it.:D

Juices at breakfast, ice tea and lemonade throughout the day in the Wind Jammer and of course plenty of tap water. Bottle water is priced like soft drinks - 1.25 (I think). CGBCruiser Posted April 3, 2008 #9 Share Posted April 3, 2008 We just sailed in early March on the Voyager and there was iced tea, lemonade, and water offered in the Windjammer. I did notice that they have gotten away from the self serve options so they came by our table and asked what we would like to drink. I asked for tea and it was always available. wrp96 Posted April 3, 2008 #10 Share Posted April 3, 2008 water (but not bottled water), iced tea, lemonade, coffee (does not include specialty coffees), tea, milk, chocolate milk, and juice at breakfast are included in your cruise fare.

Brad1185 Posted April 3, 2008 #13 Share Posted April 3, 2008 I cant believe RCI has gotten rid of ice tea at the WJ. The cutbacks never stop.
yogimax Posted April 3, 2008 #14 Share Posted April 3, 2008 I cant believe RCI has gotten rid of ice tea at the WJ. The cutbacks never stop. One person has said that there was no iced tea. Let's not jump to conclusions without confirmation!

Sand_Sun_Sea73 Posted April 4, 2008 #16 Share Posted April 4, 2008 We had iced tea on the Radiance last week. I know because my son grabbed it accidentally, thought it was cola, but it was unsweetened iced tea.

6MonthsHere6MonthsThere Posted April 4, 2008 #21 Share Posted April 4, 2008 Iced Tea is still available in the Windjammer but as a previous poster said it is not always there for Self Service but can be asked for at the Drinks Station or from the waitstaff. jackietex Posted April 4, 2008 #22 Share Posted April 4, 2008 I'd go with the soda card. For $4/day it's great to get unlimited soda (from a fountain). We brought soda and water on but the fridges don't work well at all and I'd rather not bother with carrying them again. Enjoy your vacation!:)
