Colo Cruiser Posted June 8, 2008 #26 Share Posted June 8, 2008 I guess folks are going to find something wrong if they really want to. I would never spend the time looking that closely at a ship - too busy having fun or just plain relaxing. If it isn't going the cause the ship to sink, it's all good! Yes but the camera went off several times by accident.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted June 8, 2008 #27 Share Posted June 8, 2008 One of the balcony railings in our Caribe deck suite on the Star was completely rusted away on the bottom and the railing needed to be revarnished badly and I noticed it but it certainly didn't do a darn thing to take away from how much we enjoyed being out on the balcony constantly. I still look back on that cruise even with the fire and everything that went on it and say it was one of the best cruises we have ever been on and I enjoyed that balcony more than I ever have. The sun and the sea just do so much damage that you sometimes have to overlook the small stuff like that. As long as the rest of the ship is in good shape and my bed is clean and comfortable I'm all set.
hunt182644 Posted June 8, 2008 #28 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Would be fun to have a week to poke around their house, to see what one could find.:D But still it makes me wonder with this type of damage what was keeping that ship afloat.
Julia’s Journey’s Posted June 8, 2008 #29 Share Posted June 8, 2008 With the exception of the last picture, I don't even know what I'm looking at... :??: Me neither and I even turned the laptop around to see if I was missing something:D :D

I'm with you, unless it is a dangerous or worse issue it doesn't worry me:D I have enough to worry about owning a house;)
yaletown605 Posted June 9, 2008 #31 Share Posted June 9, 2008 We were on the Golden this Feb. Had no problem at all. Sure it was not pristine but overall very nice. No coat hanger anywhere in sight other than inside the closet. Love the Golden.

Cruise Gypsy Posted June 9, 2008 #33 Share Posted June 9, 2008 The Golden goes into dry dock April 16, 2009... There are several of the older Grand class ship going into dry dock in the next 12 months and I suspect that we all could find several reasons why they should. Bottom line is that these ships would stay in great condition if they could just keep all those people off them and never take them out to sea.
Lynda90 Posted June 9, 2008 #34 Share Posted June 9, 2008 I can't even find the coat hanger in the pictures. And I thought it was just me!
Lynda90 Posted June 9, 2008 #35 Share Posted June 9, 2008 The Golden goes into dry dock April 16, 2009... Larry, should be in pristine condition by the time we each board for our Hawaiian trips. You'll have to report if the coat hanger is still there. I may have to cancel if they haven't removed it. :D :D
vjmatty Posted June 9, 2008 #36 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Here are just a few pictures of the damage. Look at the first picture... See the coat hanger.... This damage was or is all over the ship. I see the hanger but can't tell what it is doing there... The Golden goes into dry dock April 16, 2009... The day after my Hawaii cruise gets back.... oh well :o
