baseballmom2 Posted October 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2008 What kind of slot machines do they have in the casino? I just got back from Vegas and I got the "itch";) Are they the newer kind (computer touch screen etc.) And also do you use cash?? How does it work?? Thanks!! chrysalis Posted October 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2008 all the ones I have seen were touch screen, and you can insert cash bills, or charge to your cruise card.
james j feller Posted October 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2008 BASEBALLMOM, The slots on the ships will take care of that "itch" pretty quick, not as nice as VEGAS. Although some people do win, i saw one woman win $10,000 on a 10 times machine on RCCL. JIM
WeBeGone Posted October 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2008 I'm a slot player too. On Princess there are many "Vegas" machines as well as touch screen machines at the bar. The "Vegas" machines take .25, .50, 1$, 5$, 10$, and 25$ per play. They have Wheel of Fortune, Haywire, Flaming 7s, Double/Triple Diamonds, Pink Panther, Star Spangled Banner, and many others. There are also penny and nickel machines with 9 lines but I'm not very familier with those. They have slot tournaments that are fun. The best thing about the Princess machines is that you can debit your on board account from the machine. That means that you don't need to take cash to the casino. And you get $10 in credit for every $100 in play. I always call about a month before sailing and "give" myself onboard credits. The most I've ever won was $1900 on a Wheel of Fortune. Good luck. bhopal21 Posted October 7, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2008 WeBeGone, did you accidently leave off a zero on the $100? A few months ago on The Golden I only got $10 free play after spending $1000. Maybe they didn't like me as well;) Mike:)

Veronica13 Posted October 8, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 8, 2008 They are now charging a 3% fee for all casino chips or cash in the casino. AND it will post to your on board account as a "cash advance" which means your credit card will charge you through the roof. Since I live near Atlantic City, I'll save my roulette play where I don't get nickled and dimed.

Princess has charged the fee for quite some time if you go to the cashier's cage and charge chips to your account. If your join the "Ocean Players Club" by inserting your cruise card into a slot machine and creating an account with a passcode you can advance money to the machine (and back) from your shipboard account with no charge. I have even advanced to the machine and then cashed out to have additional cash in my pocket, again no charge. Mike:)
dcrow72 Posted October 8, 2008 #10 Share Posted October 8, 2008 it doesn't show on your credit card as a cash advance. I used it last year and it was great! No need to search for an ATM.

I got chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival in my room in addition to a $9 photo credit coupon. You need to notify them of the cruise you will be on with booking #. They also asked for your prior booking #, so it may only be for repaet cruisers?

bhopal21 Posted October 9, 2008 #21 Share Posted October 9, 2008 Number of cruises doesn't count as the Ocean Players Club is an interline operation. You only need to sign up once and then just notify them of upcoming cruises at www.oceanplayersclub.com Mike:)
