Majesty 3 nights, what to expect

Hi,

Have sailed the Enchantment, the Mariner, the Liberty and the Freedom, just doing a little gateway. How is the Casino, hope there's roulette, how is the pool deck, and I presume there's no formal night on these 3 nighters. I see that there's a Johnny Rockets and a Boleros which I like. Any input would be great.

Thanks

Yes, there is a Johnny Rockets, a Boleros and a formal night. I can't speak for the casino, being as I don't frequent that area.

The cruise is a fun and busy cruise, one that is all too soon over. The ship is an older ship, so the rooms and the facilities do tend to be smaller, but it is a cozy ship. We love the three and four-night getaways on Majesty of the Seas.

On a 3 nighter, you can expect time to go too fast! You will have a formal night--right in the middle! Prepare! Most folks will dress for the occassion!

There will be a bit more frenetic activity, as folks will try to cram in a weeks worth of fun into 3 days.

It's a teaser. It's not like a week long cruise!

I thought it was a fun for my 1st RCI cruise. The private island CocoCay was great (went parasailing), Nassau was ok, food on the ship was decent too. Didn't go to Johnny Rockets as i've been to the one they have here at the Mall of America, however, the casino was good to me (won $30). Next time I'm aiming to try Norweigan to compare the big 3.

In my quest for diamond plus this summer I did a 3 day on the majesty...I have done so many cruises but never a 3 day one...what a blast I had. I loved the majesty! I have always thought 3 day cruises were just too short, but like someone said it goes fast, but it makes it more fun! You will have a great time

Please check the RCL web site. There is a formal night (as explained on their site). You can also get information about the ship there.

You will have a lot of fun. It's a great weekend getaway....we've done it often.

We've done it twice now - most recently on 10/10. It's a great little cruise, on a very personable ship with great service. Of course, since it's older, the cabins are smaller and the public spaces are not as "wow" - but comparing it to Enchantment, Majesty actually feels much more modern and fresh to me.

The pool areas are wonderful while everyone is in Nassau or on the island. Personally, unless you have something special planned for Nassau (like Atlantis), stay on board and enjoy. If you have not Cococay, it's worth doing.

As for formal night - don't be fooled. Most do *not* do the whole formal thing. A few tuxes, yes, and women dress up more than men... but I would say most men did shirts and ties (w/o jackets) and a large percentage do business casual... your waiter will tell you not to let clothing keep you out of the dining room. We did suits the first time, and bus casual this time... either was just fine. If I were going to stand in line to shake the captain's hand, then sure, I would be sure to wear a jacket.

I too am a fan of the Majesty having done her three times. I wouldn't hesistate to do her again if the timing was right! The casino definately has roullete though there might only be one table. Formal night is Saturday night on the 3 night cruise and I believe Tuesday on the 4 night cruise. The weekend crowd can be more a party atomsphere as this cruise makes a great weekend getaway.

Enjoy!

We love Majesty for the 3 night weekend cruises and have been on 7 so far with the last one being Oct. 10 as opposed to our usual 7+ night cruise that we take yearly. It's a great weekend getaway cruise and a good experience. They have the most friendliest crew that we have ever encountered.

After the Retrofit last year, they added a new cafe type place called the Compass Deli which has some soups and sandwiches directly above the Windjammer buffet on deck 12. On the same deck they also added a Sorrento's Pizza and Johnny Rockets.

We love to go ashore on Coco Cay and Snorkel/swim, walk around the island or just lay on a lounger drinking a Coco Loco (RCL's island drink) under a Coconut Palm, ahh I could use one now! We think they have a real nice BBQ on the island, but we're not picky eaters! If you have never been to Nassau before, there are a few neat things to do such as seeing Paradise Island, the Queens Staircase and two old forts in the area. Since we have been there so many times, we just stay on the ship and treat it like a sea day.

The second night the Captain has a Welcome Aboard party for everyone on the ship serving complimentary Champagne and Bahama Mamas in the theatre. You can also have pictures taken with the Captain before you enter the theatre for the party. It is also the formal night of the ship where probably 45% of the people were suits and ties (we do just to dress up) and the balance of the people wear business casual or a jacket for men and dresses for women. They are pretty lenient about the dress in the dining room I guess because it's such a short cruise and most people don't want to dress up.

They have two deep pools (6'7") with a shallow end at each of them for children. In between the pools are two REALLY SMALL hot tubs.:D The second night they have a midnight Caribbean buffet around the pool deck which has a lot of Mexican food available and can get crowded.

Hope you enjoy the ship as much as us!

The casino is nothing too special, but yes, they definitely have roulette (if you can squeeze in). I thought that the ship was very well-kept, especially considering the wear that short-time cruises put on a ship. The pools are tiny, cruise ship usual, and I've never seen more "drinking while floating" than on the Majesty.

Thanks for all the good things, as long as there's one roulette table, we will be fine! I'm not expecting the WOW of the Freedom, just a quick women only gateway! As for Nassau, we will do a beach day, just relaxing. Formal night, well, since I want to try to go carry-on, I guess a nice cocktail dress will have to do!

We just came back from the Majesty!!! and it was a nice/different experience. I'm also used to 7 nighters cruises (last time we were on the Mariner), so the Majesty is half the size of the ships you're are used to; nevertheless, it has been remodeled, and it looks very modern inside.

Our biggest dissapointments were the jacuzzis (so small!!! 4 people are the maximum capacity), the cabins were VERY TINY!, there's no ice skating, no promenade, BUT hey, you're only gonna be there for a weekend! and most of the time you won't be on the ship.

The pools were very nice. I actually liked them more than the Mariner's because they were deeper. I always found a table available at the Winjammer (unlike the Mariner) where we always had to wait for somebody to finish eating.

Boleros was also nicer on the Majesty, very spacious and cozy. The food was great! I thought it won't be the case since it's a short cruise, but for a 3-4 day getaway it was good. We came back relaxed, tanned and with a smile on our faces.

Totally go for it! it's still a cruise! short... true, and time will pass by so fast you won't even realize you're back home. If the price is right and you're planning a quick trip, believe me, the Majesty will bring it. Otherwise, you might go to Orlando, pay about $200-$300 for a 3 day hotel stay, plus Disney park entrance, which could get pretty costly depending on how many people are going, plus food, will probably be way more expensive than the Majesty of the seas.

I completely agree! We started on the Majesty last year for a 3-nighter and then Enchantment last week for 5 nights. I prefer the Majesty over Enchantment. Both were great ships but Majesty was much cleaner and fresher. I understand that the Majesty was refurbed last year but the Enchantment is well over due. I also like how easy it is to navigate the Majesty, though it is smaller.

There is a formal night on the 3-night. We didn't pack for it last week on the Enchantment and weren't going to go. We informed our waiter the night before and he said to come. He said on shorter cruises they are less stringent on formal night then the longer cruises. Apparently as long as men wear pants and a collared shirt you're fine.

Have fun!! We love her!!:D
