Easter week?

Considering Celebrity Summit cruise April 4th. Does anyone know which

week is easter vacation week in the southern carribbean?

Made the mistake once and went to DR and the beaches were packed

with local families on vacation.. I mean packed!:eek:

Would better week be April 4th or 11th?

April 2nd to April 12 is part of the Easter Week (I know it's greater than one week).

I wouldn't worry as much about "locals" but rather the number of HUGE ships docked at each port. You might want to search cruisett.com/ports.php which will tell you how many thousands of visitors will be loading the beaches.

 

It might not be as bad tho if you are doing the Southern out of San Juan.

Colleges stagger their spring breaks, but I imagine many have theirs the week before or after Easter. Not only do they take cruises, but they go directly to some of these islands.

Since Easter is the 12th, the week before and after will be busier than normal--ships will be sailing full on both of those weeks.

We've done the Easter week cruise, and haven't experienced "packed" beaches...

"Holy Week" (Palm Sunday thru Easter Monday) is celebrated throughout the Caribbean, as many island have large Catholic populations. This year, Passover also occurs during the same week. I think you would be safer with a cruise the week after Easter as opposed to the week before.
