HighSeaslover Posted January 14, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 14, 2009 G'Ma, thank so much for the link, DH and I were thinking of do a B2B in the fall maybe we should strongly consider Carnival to get to Platinum status quicker. :)
Dave85 Posted January 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Platinum status is quite nice -- the best perk IMO is the priority embarkation. The other stuff (free laundry, various treats delivered to your room throughout the cruise, a free gift) are also quite nice. Also nice is the special Platinum line at the pursers information desk... especially when the regular line is very crowded.

Or does Carnival automatically take care of this? Thanks.

They can go to Carnival.com and check their past history to make sure all the cruises are documented. Dave

Complimentary laundry service. Priorty on tenders. And of course an upgrade. My wife is rapidly approaching Platinum status (cruises #8 and #9 in the next six weeks) so we were interested in this thread. We have read the Carnival site concerning the perks associated with this status but we have a question about the post quoted above. It mentions "an upgrade" and I cannot find anything in Carnival's literature that mentions that being a part of Platinum status. Did I miss something? GranysT Posted October 13, 2010 #16 Share Posted October 13, 2010 does Carnival's past guest recognition no longer go any higher than Platinum?
firefly333 Posted October 13, 2010 #17 Share Posted October 13, 2010 does Carnival's past guest recognition no longer go any higher than Platinum? You get the same perks, but at 25, 50, 75 and 100 you get that much percent in OBC. Like at 25th cruise, you can get 25% of your fare (one) in OBC. beachh2o Posted October 13, 2010 #21 Share Posted October 13, 2010 FYI - when we earned our Platinum status last June, we were celebrating our 45th Anniversary as well and we were taking 5 other family members with us and paying for their cabin. CARNIVAL had noted that in their records and our whole family was escorted on and off the ship as well, which included leaving for excursions early with no waiting in lines and priority seating in the dining room even though we were doing the Open Seating thing. They were not given the free gifts or goodies but they enjoyed the VIP Treatment, especially one of our grandsons who got the VIP luggage tags as he was staying in our cabin! bbsdad807 Posted October 17, 2010 #22 Share Posted October 17, 2010 I've been on 9 Carnival Cruises so far and have my 10th one booked for May 2011. In my cruise history it does not reflect my first 3 cruises (taken in 87, 88 and 93). I called Carnival about a year or so ago to try to get them to add my first cruises and the person I spoke with said their database didn't go back that far to add my cruises in??? I never followed up with anyone else. I'm wondering if I should send it receipts, booking numbers, maybe even photo's of me showing the dates and the ship to see if they would add them in. Any suggestions?

Rotnkid49 Posted October 17, 2010 #24 Share Posted October 17, 2010 Yes, we just got credit for a 3-day cruise we took on the Mardi Gras in 1986. Finally found proof that we were on the ship. :)

Iv always felt I was platinum before Carnival said I was because of those 3 uncounted cruises. If you have proof send it to Carnival. They will credit them. Do all cruises count toward platinum. For example a three day cruise? yes, all cruises on carnival count the same.
