Wine-O Posted November 9, 2016 #2651 Share Posted November 9, 2016 SHIP: Reflection CABIN #: 1603 DECK #: 11 CLASS: A1 AREA: Port side on the Hump BED NEAR: Bath QUIET?: So-So BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed BALCONY SIZE: Larger than the normal balcony. WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We were in this stateroom for a Westbound Transatlantic. If you don't like the sun, this cabin is not for you. The balcony had pretty much full sun in the afternoon. Reflection is the last of the S-Class to be built and has an extra deck above -- this means staterooms above, so you don't hear any rolling or scraping of deck chairs above compared to the other S-Class ships. On the downside, there's a cabin attendant storage closet right outside the alcove. This was shared by more than one stateroom attendant. You could hear noise outside in the mornings. Additionally, because of the extra room rounding the corner of the hump, our stateroom attendant set up his morning cart. If we were to book this stateroom area again, we would choose 1599 as it has the bed by the bath and same size balcony as 1603, but no annoying storage closet or room for attendant cart. Wine-O Posted November 9, 2016 #2652 Share Posted November 9, 2016 SHIP: ReflectionCABIN #: 7247 DECK #: 7 CLASS: A1 AREA: BED NEAR: Balcony QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: BALCONY SIZE: Bit larger - on the hump WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Great location - very quiet. Convenient to stairs and elevators. Hi Anna Marie, it was great meeting and sailing with you and Bob on Reflection. Just for the record, it's a 1A category. It's a common typo. :)

WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We loved this cabin and would book it again. Near midship elevators but quiet. Note however that we were in this stateroom for a Westbound Transatlantic. The balcony had full direct sun most of the day. Shropshirekitkat Posted November 11, 2016 #2654 Share Posted November 11, 2016 SHIP: Eclipse CABIN: 8234 DECK: 8 CLASS: 1B AREA: Starboard on the hump. BED: near bathroom QUIET: yes very quiet location, except for noisy neighbours BALCONY VIEW: unobstructed view straight down, great view of the bridge. WIND: no SOOT: no PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This cabin was opposite the automatic sliding doors that led to the elevators and central lobby. I was worried before we went about this and the potential for noise. It was not a problem at all, and was an excellent location for the elevators and stairs. There was no noise, the cabins are really well insulated. We did have noisy neighbours to our left, they just seemed to speak in very loud voices, however this was only an issue on the balcony. I would book this again.
Ems2 Posted November 15, 2016 #2655 Share Posted November 15, 2016 SHIP: Eclipse CABIN #: 7356 DECK #: 7 CLASS: Sky Suite AREA: Starboard aft corner BED NEAR: Middle QUIET?: Exceptionally quiet BALCONY VIEW: Wonderful view of the wake BALCONY SIZE: Good size WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Plenty of space for us, with good storage. Loved having a bath. Although it is quite a long walk to the lifts we didn't mind this as we needed the exercise. Would certainly have no hesitation booking this cabin again. Just love 2 cruise Posted November 15, 2016 #2656 Share Posted November 15, 2016 SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 9301 DECK #: 9 CLASS: C1 AREA: AFT BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: Extremely – because it is next to the corner suite there is a foyer area with one access door to the hallway which was kept closed and your room card accessed entry. BALCONY VIEW: AFT – 1/3 coverage by the deck above. BALCONY SIZE: standard – fits two chairs, table and footstools but then no room to move WIND A PROBLEM?: no SOOT A PROBLEM?: no PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: AFT facing cabins are lovely to sit and watch port arrivals and departures, however, if there is inclement weather then your deck is useless as it has not cover from the rain or strong winds. There is a pole outside the door that I discovered was a plumbing pipe (extremely noisy when there is a plumbing problem on my cruise and they had to snake the pole). This pipe narrows entry to the cabin which is more of an issue if you have room service deliveries. If you are traveling as a family or friends getting both the suite and adjoining cabin would make a great private space as the balcony between the two can be opened and then you can share the foyer space as well. Regretfully, I am getting an error message when I try to upload pictures here
CarolynAustralia Posted November 20, 2016 #2657 Share Posted November 20, 2016 SHIP: Solstice CABIN #: 6196 DECK #: 6 CLASS: 2D Completely obstructed AREA: BED NEAR: Veranda QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: Completely obstructed BALCONY SIZE: Normal WIND A PROBLEM?:No SOOT A PROBLEM?:No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This is a completely obstructed view cabin. It is right near the bigger tenders so if sitting down on the balcony that is all you will see.
MartinsCruise Posted November 21, 2016 #2658 Share Posted November 21, 2016 SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 2106 DECK #: 12 CLASS: C2 AREA: Midship hump facing the aft BED NEAR: Sliding door QUIET?: Yes except for comment below BALCONY VIEW: Excellent BALCONY SIZE: Largest hump balcony WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: The location of this cabin made it easy to get to the pool and Oceanview cafe. The one complaint I had is we could hear the toilets flushing in the men's room outside the buffet area which was right above us. We only heard it if we were in the cabin during the day. At night it was usually quiet.
firstcruiserDB Posted November 28, 2016 #2659 Share Posted November 28, 2016 SHIP: Equinox CABIN #: 9299 DECK #: 9 CLASS: S1 AREA: Aft BED NEAR: balcony QUIET?: Extremely quiet! A double door eliminates all hallway noise. BALCONY VIEW: Absolutely wonderful! The aft can't be beat! BALCONY SIZE: Awesome corner aft. Side and back views. Table and two chair/stool combo. Plenty of room. WIND A PROBLEM?: Only on windy days in port. SOOT A PROBLEM?: Never saw it. PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: No problems at all. We loved the room! A nice walk, but so worth it! Tons of storage! Loud 'banging on pipe' sound during daylight hours on several days BALCONY VIEW: Slight obstruction from ladder between Deck 5 and Roof of Blu on Deck 6, right in front of balcony BALCONY SIZE: Standard WIND A PROBLEM?:No SOOT A PROBLEM?:No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:Noisy cabin. Smelled of smoke in Nov 16. Ladder used by staff for maintenance, especially on shore days. Privacy compromised because of staff casually looking into room from top of ladder. Some tipsy passengers even tried to climb into our balcony one evening!
