Catalina Island

Am I missing something? I was just looking for a cruise that went to Catalina Island and did not see any. Did they drop this island?

 

We wanted to take our son here and I cant locate any cruises. Thanks for your input.

Carnival's Paradise goes there from Long Beach on her 4-night cruises, we've been there twice. Starting in April Carnival's Elation from San Diego will also go there.

that's right: just look for the Carnival cruises that leave Long Beach on Mondays.

 

RC dropped their Baja cruises, at least for now.

Carnival still uses Catalina as a port of call but sine RC moved Monarch of the Seas to Florida they don't use it any longer

I am sailing to Catalina Island on the Elation (carnival) feb 15 out of SD. Try them...there is also a cruise from Long Beach that goes there. Look for a 4 day cruise though.

It is also a very simple day trip from Marina Del Rey, San Pedro, Long Beach, Dana Point and Newport Beach on one of the ferries. Most go to Avalon but you can also get to Twin Harbor as well.

if you are looking only at RC then yes, when Monarch left for the Bahamas RC did not replace it with another ship on that route. I think Carnival is the only line using Catalina now

Unfortunately, there has been a big decline in the number of cruise ships visiting Catalina Island. We used to get 2-4 a week, now we are lucky to get one a week! A shame, most of it is because it was part of a Mexico cruise and so many people are unwilling to cruise to Mexico from the states.

We are booked on one in Feb 2012. Carnival's Inspiration (which will replace Paradise) is doing Catalina/Ensenada 4 dayers.

My husband and I will be in Catalina on Feb 21st, coming in on the Inspiration. We are SO looking forward to it!

We are taking the Carnival Inspiration departing on 12-19-11 and it stops in Catalina. We are not going for the ports (Catalina and Ensenada) as we have visited there several times prior but for the new ship - well new to us - and a change to cruise again... Enjoy

Some repositioning cruises of Princess will go there but it is a tendering port and weather (wind) can sometimes dictate that the port be dropped.

not sure where you live but why not just take a ferry from Long Beach to Cat island and stay it is amazing!:rolleyes:

On a HAL repositioning cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Seattle in 2009 -- we stopped there and really loved it.

 

Wish HAL would put that port back on that itinerary.
