2boyzmom Posted January 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2009 This will be our first RCCL cruise and hopefully not our last. What is the earliest boarding time? With two little kids waiting on line is excrutiating, so we want to be early, but not too early when they are not boarding yet. We have a JS on the Jewel, is there priority boarding out of Miami for JS?
Gonzo70 Posted January 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Boarding often starts sometimes between 11:00am-11:30am, but if there were any delays with the prior sailing being cleared boarding can be delayed. Earlier this month I arrived at 11:00am. There was a small delay in boarding due to some problems with the gangplank, but we were on by a little after noon. There is a good chance boarding will commence shortly after 11am and that it will go rather quick, but it is no guarantee. Have a nice cruise. :)

yogimax Posted January 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Just a word of caution... We were on one RCCL cruise that did not board until 2PM, You should be fine with your 11AM arrival, but there are no guarantees.
Rare silentbob007 Posted January 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2009 If you don't want to wait, you might be better off showing up closer to noon just in case.
perkyblue Posted January 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Keep in mind that you won't be able to get into your cabin until about 2:00, so even if you are able to get onboard by 11:30, you'll have to carry your carry-on luggage around with you for a few hours. readytolose Posted January 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Usually cabins open at 1 but perkyblue is correct about hauling around your carry ons. Pack only what you don't mind carrying around the ship for a little while.

Yes- we have learned this from other cruises and I carry a small carryon with the bathing suits so the boys can be in the pool by noon :) Thanks everyone! I have been told that RCCL is fantastic! S&C2 Posted January 31, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Our last sailing on Freedom in December, we were not able to board until after noon and rooms were not available until 3pm! So you never know.
