Bequia Posted February 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2009 Ask your brother if the Lago Mar, Hyatt Pier 66 or the Harbor Beach Marriott are available with his Amex points. ;) //////
megr1125 Posted February 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2009 #2 Renaissance Fort Lauderdale. Ditto....but the Harbor Beach Marriot Resort would REALLY be great.... if you go to the Ren Ft L, the restaurant isn't really good..overpriced for starters.....there are plenty of places nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner...... Renaissance on 17th is nice and in a good location for walking & Hyatt pier 66 is great for watching the ships come & go. another fun tour is: Carrie B- Sightseeing Cruises, Tours, And Private Charter Cruises - Fort Laude There is even a coupon on the website for $2 off each ticket. Have fun. Jan in Michigan
monicajay Posted February 21, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 21, 2009 1 Courtyard Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruiseport 2 Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Hotel 3 Residence Fort Lauderdale Plantation 4 Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation TIA:D:) Based on these 4 choices I wold pick the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale just because if the location. I agree if you can get your brother to give you enough points for the Marriott Harbor Beach, that would be a better choice. I'm not sure using AMEX points, but on the Marriott points I am using, the Beach Harbour was 30,000 points instead of the Renaissance at 25,000. I'm using points for my stay on March 7th. michmike Posted February 21, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2009 We've been very pleased with the accommodations and service at the Renaissance Plantation. Have stayed there twice now, most recently a couple of weeks ago. Don't know how many points they are charging but we thought it was quite a good deal on our most recent visit as they are running a cruisers special at $104 a nite. Rare Lois R Posted February 21, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 21, 2009 Hi,:) Your brother is giving you the room, correct? He asked you to pick from those 4 choices, correct? Very nice gift:) I would pick one of those choices and not ask for something else (but that is just me). The Renassiance would be my pick. I love 17th Street:)

Heck any of the marriotts are nice, so i am happy with any choice I just stayed at the Renaissance Plantation Location and enjoyed it. The hotel was really beautiful. There is nice sports bar/restuarant right through the complex's parking lot and grocery/drug/liquor stores around the corner. Can't say what else is near by....we didn't do a whole lot there. Had lunch, then took a nap and waited for my sister's flt to get in. Picked her up, went back to the sports bar so she could have dinner. Then back to the hotel to sleep. Up early and to the port. It's only about 10 minute drive from the airport and easy to locate. A friend who works for Mariott got us a Friends & Family rate there, so we couldn't beat the price.
