Leaving for Toronto in the morning, and home to -15 freezing cold weather!!! We had an outstanding cruise and met some amazing folks from our roll call :D A shout out goes to Plyman and Audome78 - you guys still have me laughing!!!! As always, a thank you to Mr. Goofy for keeping us all on our toes on our roll call for the past 10 months or so! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! My Time Dining is now available on the AOS. My pre and post cruise stay were at the San Juan Marriott and Stellaris ......and I am still here listening to the ocean for a few more hours anyways!!!! Cruisingjer Posted March 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Did you go to any of the shows and if you did how were they? Who is the cruise director? We have already prepaid our tips, so we are good to go!

fluffych Posted March 2, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Did you go to any of the shows and if you did how were they? Who is the cruise director? We have already prepaid our tips, so we are good to go! Just got off the AOS yesterday too. The cruise director was Casey Pelter, he was pretty good, not as good as Mike S from last year. The ice show was excellent and El Goucho was too! There was Mosaic, a group of young men who made all the sounds of the instruments with their own mouths.(great) The RC singers and dancers were very good as well. The late night comedy was very good, just alittle hard to understand him sometimes. The Quest, don't miss it! You will have a wonderful time!:)
nanfromatlanta Posted March 2, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Hi Robyn, welcome almost back. Please let us know how this cruise on the AOS compared to the others. We were a bit disappointed that our cruise in December was not nearly as nice as our previous cruises on the AOS.

melbur Posted March 2, 2009 #13 Share Posted March 2, 2009 I hate to break it to you Robyn but we just returned yesterday from Radiance (South America) and the temp here in Toronto is -27 with the wind chill. RN7997 Posted March 2, 2009 #15 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Welcome back!!!! I am wondering what you thought of the MTD?? Were the waiters just as interactive as they are normally or was it not so "personal"??????
cookieeater Posted March 2, 2009 #16 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Looking forward to hearing your comments. Will be sailing on the AOS in July for the first time. Also staying at the Marriott in San Juan. What type of cabin did you stay in? Susan
dna1990 Posted March 2, 2009 #17 Share Posted March 2, 2009 I am behind in reading, is AOS going to full MTD? Or does traditional seating still exist? Since you had a post-stay, it is not applicable - but did you overhear what baggage options were available? For example hand the airline your checked backs right after customs, etc.
maggieq Posted March 2, 2009 #18 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Hi Robyn, How was your favorite ship? How was the weather and was the Marriott.....terrific as usual? Will you book another cruise on the aos before she leaves?
BuyReallyLow Posted March 2, 2009 #19 Share Posted March 2, 2009 Welcome back Robyn, She is a great ship - you've been a great cheerleader for her and San Juan. Stellaris is the best - did you get over to Pamelas for dinner? Wishing I was back on AOS..... BRL

ckrobyn Posted March 3, 2009 Author #22 Share Posted March 3, 2009 So Robyn, how hard was it for them to drag you off your favorite ship? Hey Wrona :) It's always hard to drag me off my favorite ship :( I hate to leave....especially since the opportunities to sail the AOS for next February may be limited depending on when she heads to Europe..... ckrobyn Posted March 3, 2009 Author #23 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Hi Robyn, welcome almost back. Please let us know how this cruise on the AOS compared to the others. We were a bit disappointed that our cruise in December was not nearly as nice as our previous cruises on the AOS. Hi Nan :) I always love cruising on the AOS - it's like coming home each time I step onboard. You didn't mention anything specific that wasn't as nice in December as on previous cruises - what are you referring to? The only comment I will make is that although I am not a "foodie", I felt that the food had taken a turn for the worse on this cruise.... I usually enjoy the WJ, but even the welcome aboard lunch was disappointing and the honey stung chicken I look forward to for so long was dried out :( Other than that (and food does not make or break or a cruise for me) I had a wonderful time!!!!! We are trying Portofinos on 03/24/09 were you able to try it out?? You will love the San Juan Marriott, it's fabulous :D Yes, I did have luck in the Casino - I won $150 pre cruise and another $200 post cruise :) We had dinner at Portofino on the Wednesday (Curacao) and it was wonderful as always! I recommend the filet - and you can ask for a side of lobster tail with it ;)
ckrobyn Posted March 3, 2009 Author #25 Share Posted March 3, 2009 How was the emabrkation/debarkation traffic/check in. It was horrible last November. Hopefully, they have corrected it? Embarkation was a breeze, but likely because we were amongst the first in line  We were there at 10:15 a.m. Debarkation was very civilized!!!!! It is my first time cruising with this new enhanced debarkation process where they have no annoying announcements! As long as you are where you are supposed to be at the assigned time, the debarkation process was totally organized and completely painless :D
