Junior suite question

Recommended Posts

JS's get priority boarding (where available) and 2 C&A credits. That's it. Aside from a very spacious room, and tub, and walk-in closet--those are your only benefits. You do NOT get concierge service or use of lounge. Not a big deal, considering the price---a JS affords you lots of comfort and space without the cost of a "big" suite....it's a nice way to cruise!

We're planning on a B2B2B in Oct 2009, We're currently at 7 credits and planing making Diamond this next trip

With a JS for the 1st leg for 2 credits and an OV for the next 2 legs, 1 credit each for the next 2 legs we can enjoy the 3rd leg in he concierge lounge, finally....

JS are nice, but we can't afford a JS for all 3 legs.

Thanks for the prompt answer. Since we are traveling with others (not in a JS), we prob wouldn't use the lounge anyway.

IMHO you're not missing that much with the lounge. I would rather go to a bar where it's a little more quiet and get a better drink. The Junior Suites are nice due to the space in the cabin but even better in the bathroom where you have a tub and not the small capsule like shower.

I think the Concierge lounge is a great perk. I've gone in there on many occassions and its never been crowded or loud. My wife loves it because she can run in there anytime of day and grab a cup of coffee. They have those automatic coffee machines. Just push the button and out it comes. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but it is nice in the morning. They put out bagels, muffins, smoked salmon............etc. And the atmosphere is very relaxing which is a nice alternative to breakfast in the Windjammer. And if you happen to be in there while the Concierge is on duty, well he/she is usually a wealth of information.

Sounds like a great plan! Which ship, which itinerary? :)

I just booked a junior suite on Explorer to Bermuda. Question: do junior suite cabins receive all the benefits of the "senior" suites? Concierge lounge/services? Priority boarding? Others?

priority boarding and debark, yes....2 cruise credits...yup!

concierge service..not unless you are a diamond c&a member or above....but you get a tub, a walk in closet and more space. YIPPEE! we love them

Run your plan by "at least" two people at RCCL, weeks before you sail. Get something in writing. Go to the LA and/or concierge on the first day.

Your Diamond status is obtained after the 2nd leg, but may not be officially credited and issued as quickly as you think. The concierge receives his list of D and D+ members some days before the 'next' cruise. Your name will not be on that list. This list was printed before you completed the second leg.

Not trying to put a damper on your plan. Just make shore that your plan is OK by RCCL and everyone knows it.

Have a great consecutive cruise! (B2B is no longer RCCL lingo, they are now consecutive cruises.)

Bring the list of your sail dates and room types with you that add up to 10. If noone else seems able to fix it, see the loyalty ambassador with your list and keycards from the two just completed cruises. He/she should be able to verify your status, and fix your keycard.

Rick and Deirda...........great suggestions.

We just got back from a trip on the Mariner........where the LA was having a problem making people Diamond..........or giving out D+ blocks (etiched glass crystal blocks of the ship that you would be cruising) when cruisers reached the marks of 30, 40, 50, 60 etc.

So, what I'm hearing is to lay out the facts first.......with someone in corporate C&A.........that will pass it on to the ship.

Then, when you first get aboard.......check with the Loyalty Ambassador, and make sure that corporate has sent along all of the documentation.

From there..........it should be very easy.:D

So far its the Enchantment Oct 3-8, 8-12 and 12-17 we've been to each of the ports several times except for Grand Cayman, she's been elusive for the 3 cruises we were scheduled in the past. TO us its the whole experience not the ports that make the trip and there is nothing more relaxing than staying onboard an empty ship when everyone else is off doing their thing. That's why we now only book B2B or Transatlantics.

Love me some sea days

We did a B2B Apr 2008 on the Enchantment and loved it, and a B2B on the Majesty in Oct 2008 and loved it even more.

Our goal is to make Diamond this year and live it up, how ever long it lasts, in light of the recent D & D+ rumors.

I'm not expecting the system to be automatic and will try to contact the appropriate people throughout the process.

Too bad Julian isn't on the Enchantment any longer, he would have ensured we were taken care of.
