Good morning Maniacs.

It's another glorious, sunny day here today. It was pretty hot yesterday and looks to be the same again. Feels like Summer is early, but I'll take it. :D

Hammerman - get those dancing numbers ready, please. :D Jan. 30/11 is a Sunday, which seems appropriate, since the Pride left Long Beach on a Sunday. If you want to wait until we get our official thread (probably a couple of weeks yet), that's okay, too. It's going to be great looking forward to the weekly countdown again.

Also wanted to add that everyone should get their fingers limbered up, ready to post. I figure with just under two years until our cruises, we should be able to give those Crazies (who have over 200,000 posts on their official thread) a run for their money. :D Crazies gonna get run over by the Maniacs! :D :D

The whole thing is just so exciting. I can't wait until it is official. My DH and I are probably going without our kids, so it is going to be awesome.

I agree. I am more excited about this cruise than the others I have booked. One bonus for me, is that I'll be Platinum the second half of the B2B. :D Free laundry!!! :D

Hummm, why don't you join Dennis and I for Alaska in 2011......We plan on doing the first part of the B2B and then sometime --probably in late August or early September do Alaska.

2012...I just hope both Dennis and I are still around. Have no idea what we will do that year. Maybe I can retire by then and we can See the USA but not in a Chevrolet....would be on Harleys!!

You said you miss our daily chats on the Panamaniac roll call. Me too! Would you believe, our Thankgiving cruise on the Inspiration roll call has none, NADA, no posts except for mine when I started it and from a friend we made on the Miracle that saw me there and just stopped in to say hello.

Well, you never know. If we are living in Florida then...maybe. If I'm still in Michigan....I want warmth, sand and sunshine. But, we'll see what happens. Well, we'll just have to get this official cruise up and running and we can all start posting again.

Kaz - isn't it nice to know that there are people who totally understand what you're feeling when you talk about "booking disease". I know I suffer from it, too.

It doesn't look promising for my Vancouver to Hawaii cruise in Sept. 2010. The possible group cruise I'm trying to organize has very few people interested and I'm not sure we'll even make the required 8 cabins for a group. :( Maybe we could consider a Hawaii sailing in 2012. While I'd prefer Vancouver to Hawaii because Vancouver is so close, I'd do the Hawaii to Ensenada or Ensenada to Hawaii ones. But, truth is, I'd go anywhere to sail with the (Pana)Maniacs.

Yep....good ole "Booking Disease." It's kinda like being a cruise alchoholic isn't it LOL. Can't wait until it's official. Just let me know where and when I need to make my deposit.

Now the Hawaii cruise sure does appeal to me. I loved Hawaii. Just would have to talk Gaz into it. That could be a problem. He's not big on flying and the one way trip to Hawaii or from Hawaii...does not appeal to him.

G'day All.....

OK....found you :D.........just thought I'd drop by & say hi after my chat with Sandy yesterday....took a while but eventually found you :o

I see you have some great ports of call on this B2B, we've only been to St Maarten out of all of them.

Hope you are all well, we don't know what we are doing yet, really like the look of a Med + Greek Islands one but we'll just have to wait & see.

I hope you get this official soon, I'd be impatient too :D

Take care everyone & I'll drop by from time to time.

What a bucket list trip the Pamana was eh!.............

G'Day Deb....hope all is well. Glad you found us. Yes, the Panama trip was a bucket list trip. Speaking of bucket lists, I got your e-mail. I'll be filling out my bucket list and sending it back to you. Some great ideas on that list!

Say hi to Steve for us. You can tell him Gaz is still whimpering about his blisters!:D What a whimp!

I love the free laundry also Sandy. Chris and I figured we saved over $50.00 on our Spirit cruise to Acapulco!! More for the Casino:p.

The chocolate covered strawberries are pretty good too. Better than the canapés. LOL

Although our B2B will be glorious weather with warm blue waters.... and lots of bathing suits! I had better start working out now so I won't be wearing a car cover!:o

What about your knee Sandy? How are you doing?

It looks like I will be booking solo this cruise. With this group I won't be lonely!

No, you certainly won't have to worry with this group.

My knee is not bad. Bothers me a bit more than I'd like, but I'm still putting off surgery until absolutely necessary.

Taking weight off would help, of course, and maybe if I start dieting now, I can lose 10 pounds by the time we cruise. :D :D

Sandy I think that platinum takes about a month after you cruise before it kicks in. I think I read somewhere else on the boards that people who become platinum during a back to back don't get the perks. You might want to ask on the main board and if thats the case you'll have to book more cruise's before Jan 2011.:D

I have the Dream in Feb. next year and then a loooong (for me) stretch until the B2B, so I just might have to find something to tide me over. I had considered the Vancouver to Hawaii in Sept. 2010, so that would give me the extra one. :D

Hi Everyone,

We had friends on the Panama Canal cruise that were not on our roll call. They had just done the 4 day Paradise (their 9th cruise) and had no problem getting their Platinum benefits on the Pride.

Wow, here we go! Just got home late last night and have spent the day unpacking, doing laundry and trying to catch up on roll calls and emails. This is my last visit. It's so good to see this active "almost roll call" going and to see postings from old friends. Mike & Pat, sure glad you are joining us. I had not seen your name on the list. Looks like it will be close to a repeat of the Panama Canal. Sure hope Aussie Deb & Steve can make it also.

As far as a cruise in 2011, like Lynn, if we're still alive then, the New England/Canada cruise out of New York sounds good to us. We have done that cruise but we loved it and would do it again. It looks like we will be doing the Southern Caribbean out of San Juan in the fall of 2010 and now possibly Alaska again in May of 2010. I had not wanted to do Alaska again but Gale's daughter and family want to do it and a family cruise would be fun.

As Sandy already mentioned, the Splendor was not to our liking. I liked the art work but the decor was very gaudy and I didn't even mind the pepto bismo grapes on the Miracle. That should give you an idea of what I thought of the pink & silver polka dots. Debarkation was a nightmare but we especially didn't like a ship that held 3000 passengers. The one good thing about the Splendor though was that it was one of 5 ships that allows you to buy the cetrificates good for your next booked cruise. You pay $100.00 per cert but they count for $100.00 towards the price of your next cruise and give you $100.00 OBC combinable with shareholders credit or group credit. We got two of them for the Miracle B2B and will plan on getting a couple more when we are back on the Splendor in January.

Well, no more news for now and Sandy and I are Skyping so I'll be back to post in a few days. BTW, Gale had the proper cap to stow Sandy...it said US Army Veteran, compliments of some dear friends of ours! We too, wished she could have joined us.

When in May 2010 are you looking at? So far it looks like we will be doing the spirit Hawaii to Vancouver April 2010. Just wondering if you will be getting on as we get off again.:D

Hi Tracy,

Not this time. We will cruise after the first Alaska cruise as Sandy told me last night that the Hawaii cruise ports in Vancouver and the first Alaska cruise of the season is from Vancouver to Seattle. Since Gale's DD lives in WA, she wants the round trip from Seattle to Seattle.

Okay, Miracle Maniacs.......

I heard from Laura with the pricing and told her it's a "go", so WE ARE OFFICIAL!!!

I can't post the cruise prices here, but they are good, and WE HAVE THE REDUCED $25 DEPOSIT UNTIL JUNE 29/09.

In addition, the Amenities per cruise that we will get are:

$100 OBC per cabin

Champagne and Chocolate or a 1 hour Cocktail party

Cruise Critic Logo Item (one per person)

15% Discount on all other Cruise Critic logowear

I said we'd probably go with the 1 hour cocktail party and I think we'll do that for both cruises since it would be fair to people who are only doing one half of the B2B.

I had some other questions for Laura and I may be starting a new "OFFICIAL" thread shortly.

Please DO NOT CALL the TA just yet. As group leader, I have to be the first one to book, so that may take a little more time.

Great Sandy! I am looking forward to booking as soon as we get the GO.

Hey Sandy, do we have an official roll call yet?? Humm, can I still come and chat there even if I am not a part of the official group? Just wondering.

Yes, we do have an official roll call now in the main Carnival forum, and YES ABSOLUTELY you can come and chat! Wouldn't be a roll call if you weren't there! And, of course, you can join in any activity we arrange.

The link to the new roll call is in my signature.
