We need to make a CD of all these tunes - maybe we'll give those Mannheim Steamroller folks a run for their money.

 

I dunno about a CD, but I bet we could get someone to pull them all together and make a book for Princess Fans...(ahem...me) That is, if anyone would be interested. Maybe we could put a small cost to it and have the monies go to a charity?

Host Tink your idea definitely has merit... and as a charitable endeavour I would definitely embrace the concept of trying to do something. Speaking for "my own" contributions only, I'm not sure whether they are ready to immortalised in print. Can we use 'anon' ;)

 

I'm not sure though whether the song lyrics on their own would appeal to the masses. However, a book with cruise anecdotes; embarrassing moments (there were many threads that were lost when the board changed format... and in recent times would probably only be found now in Floataway); shipmates from hell (no names mentioned of course); things you didn't know; packing tips/don't forget to bring; tales of ship board romances; funny photos etc. - along with a selection of our Christmas Cruise parodies would hopefully inspire some interest.

 

Perhaps CC could offer some sponsorship and ask all the members on all the forums to submit their contributions etc. Placed in Gifts Shops on board all the cruise ships... my crystal balls says we could be onto a winner :D

Here's my contribution, for what it's worth

 

Ron

 

Twas the day of departure and all through the ship

The crew was scurrying, preparing for the trip

 

The passengers, outside, were waiting in line

While the crew prepared boarding papers for them to sign

 

They moved slowly behind the elite and platinum ahead

While visions of lobster tails danced through their head

 

Then all of a sudden, from the ship, the captain spoke

The cruise is cancelled, “MUTS” is broke

 

The passengers panicked and all became wild

Some threw tantrums, much like a child

 

Then from the crowd was heard a yell

I’m an engineer, I’ll fix it, and all will be well

 

The passengers calmed down and boarded the ship

Convinced, that with”MUTS” they would have a good trip

 

Some headed to the buffet to fill their plates high

Others to their staterooms, their gear to stow away

 

Then up to the Sundeck for the sailaway GIG

With Isaac pouring drinks, mostly BIG

 

The steel drum band playing the love boat theme

People drinking and dancing preparing for a “Love Boat Dream”

 

Then all of a sudden the captain spoke with a muse

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Happy Cruise!
