Add to my list

Here is what I do on every cruise:

1. Try a new drink

2. Order something you have never tasted before from the menu at least once

3. Do go to the top deck after dark at least once to see the starlit sky from the top.

4. Do pre-ordered something wonderful to greet you in your room for sailaway.

5. Any time you feel frustrated remember where you are and laugh it away.

Great suggestions! #4 with balloons means you can instantly locate your cabin from the far end of the corridor. #5 should be a REQUIREMENT for all passengers.

On our last cruise we had the balloons on the door, drinks in the room and chocolate covered strawberries all shouting "Welcome Home!" Nothing nicer than those balloons drawing you to your own little peace of heaven is there?

As for #5 I pack everything except my cranky side of the brain when I go on vacation. I let that have a nice rest at home so it is strong enough to fight the traffic when I get home. :D

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. I have now completed my list with a couple of alternates in case something cannot be completed. I will add it this evening after I wash the dishes (not on vacation yet)!

Cruise critic is the best.

Happy Sailing.

I am so looking forward to this trip. First it is on the Prinsendam which I have read so many wonderful reports about this ship and experiences while on the vessel. Second, it is Christmas/New Years and that is my favorite time/holidays. Third, a cruise is just a dream vacation for me.

Linda, What a wonderful list! I'm making a list of some of these things to do on my next cruise, probably the southern caribbean also. I enjoy watching sunrises and sunsets, especially from cruise ships! Thanks for sharing your list.

Mixology class on sea days is always fun. If offered, and if it is within your budget (approx. $65.00 per person) the Sommelier's Dinner and Wine Matching in the Pinnacle is a lovely gourmet evening.

Get up early, get a cup of coffee and enjoy the Crows Nest; many times just by yourself.

Most of all take time to meet and talk with the crew. They are the foundation and main reason why we love cruising with Holland America.
