  1. Heavy rain in Sydney today. The forecast for @ReneeFLL arrival on Saturday is 25C with only 20% chance of rain so it should be a lovely day in Sydney. Hope you have a lovely day here on Saturday Renee and enjoy your cruise to New Zealand. I will be off cc for the next couple of weeks but look forward to catching up on my return.
  2. @Sunshine3601 How lovely your son and his fiancé enjoyed their first cruise with you so much that they want to do it again, Generous of you to gift them a cruise.
  3. My daughter was in Nashville and they got last minute tickets to one of his concerts. They basically went to see what he was like. He put on a great concert and they are fans of him now.
  4. You know why DH is at his wedding weight? Because he only eats half his dessert when we go out to dinner….guess who eats the other half? Last night we were at a birthday/ farewell dinner and DH liked the look of two desserts so he ordered both this time so we could share:
  5. Thanks for sharing your trip with us all. Hope Charlie & Lizzie have behaved themselves in your absence. Have a safe trip home & enjoy those cuddles from the furbabies.
  6. Congratulations to your eldest granddaughter. Quite an achievement. Lovely to read of Jack & Ava’s homecoming dances. Hope they both have a wonderful time. I felt so sad for the kids who missed out on this during the Pandemic
  7. @MMDown Under I’ve never considered a cruise out of Brisbane before because of the ease for me of getting to the OPT. However, depending how our upcoming cruise goes, I may consider it againin the future as it allows us to take less annual leave for FNQ & PNG cruises.
  8. Happy Birthday to you for the 27th Graham. Were the superb meals you enjoyed & posted here from the MDR or from specialty dining on the P & O Adventura? @grapau27
  9. My DH is still at his wedding weight. The GP says it’s rare in his age group. I put it down to him being a non-drinker (plus he regularly exercises). Since the pandemic he has cut down on meal portions at dinner as well. Heart disease runs in his family so he is really taking care of himself now. Re your question, beer belly is definitely a thing here for men over 50.
  10. @dani negreanu very smart of you to make the most of those opportunities via your son. Flying business class would certainly have eased the pain of those long haul flights.
  11. Is her departure from Sydney, her first cruise here this season? Photos taken today from Circular Quay.
  12. Lovely photo Dani. It’s a wonderful feeling when you finally visit a place that you didn’t expect to visit due to long distance. I think I’ve mentioned this before but after picking up our German exchange student and driving her straight from the airport to the roundabout in front of the Opera House where she could see the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, her squeals of delight I won’t ever forget.
  13. Glad DH enjoyed them. I figured you would have gone to Bondi during your stay. Your former hotel is in a great location as you know
  14. @ReneeFLL we caught the bus there from Circular Quay. If you want to do this, let me know & I can give you specific instructions. It’s just under an hour by bus each way to get there from Circular Quay to Bondi Beach on a Saturday. Spent 1 1/2hrs walking one way & taking lots of photos & 45mins walking on the way back without stopping from Tamarama Beach to Bondi on the same paths. There is a grassy area at the midway point with a small menu & outdoor seating.
  15. The Sculpture Walk finishes at Tamarama Beach. Nice spot for a dip to cool off. Alas it was closed for swimming today. Lifeguards still on duty for the people that ignore the signs.
  16. Sculpture by the Sea is the only time I go to Bondi and try to arrange to go most years. My favourite sculptures are the ones that you look through with the ocean backdrop.
  17. It’s lovely walk & some of the artworks along the way: There was an old Chinese man waiting for the perfect opportunity for a photo of himself posing in the middle of the hook. He approached us and was very happy with the 3 photos I took of him.
  18. Saturday here in Sydney. We headed off to Sculptures by the Sea, an annual event, that hasn’t been held for 2 years due to you know what. If you’ve been to Sydney and done very popular Bondi to Coogee coastal walk, then Sculptures by the Sea is held in the first section of that walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Beach. Bondi Beach: The walk starts at Icebergs Bondi. On the way in, a friend was giving me live updates on the house auction she was attending, so this Art installation was appropriate…
