Celebrity used to add a 5% surcharge for withdrawing cash in the casino.  I do not know if that is still the case.

In earlier cruises, we could get cash at the casino cashier less the 5% fee but have not been allowed to do that for the last couple of years.

Our experience on recent cruises is they would not give cash, regardless of whether it was from Celebrity or TA, even if refundable.  They download the money amount to your sea pass card (no fee involved) and give instructions as to how to use it in the casino.  You have to designate if you will be playing table games or slots.  Any winnings you have, you keep.  If you don't use all that was downloaded, you forfeit the remainder.

As an additional note, since our 3 Edge cruises have NRDs, our X PVP told us not to make the final payment when each one is due. Reason being we're only going to get FCCs anyway, regardless of whether the cruises go or are eventually canceled. He said if he hears the cruises will actually go, he'll let us know and we can make the final payment then. Not sure we could do this if we booked through a TA.

I thought if final payment is not made, the cruise booking gets cancelled and the deposit is forfeited.  How is your booking staying active past final payment date? Is your X PVP extending your final payment due date?

We were having our TA to make our final payment on our Edge sailing of 7/10, which was the second half of our booked B2B with the 7/3 cruise. He was told that Celebrity was cancelling the 7/10 in that it violated the CDC guidelines that prohibits B2B's and cruises longer than 7 days. "X" said because it was their fault that we would get our deposit back. OK - nice that they didn't catch that and let us or our TA know sooner.

I thought that I would look to do a side-to-side - so I looked at what was available out of Fort Lauderdale - nothing worked. I am thinking that our 7/3 won't sail so I looked at something for September and I found a nice Edge on 9/18 - stay a day in FLL and then go on Equinox on 9/26............perfect!!!! Well - here is the inconsistency...............the Equinox is a 12 night cruise. Celebrity is still offering 9 & 11 night cruises on the Equinox starting on 8/15 through 10/8 - way before the 11/1 deadline. How or why are they still selling cruises that are in violation of what they told us???????

FWIW - I contacted my TA regarding this and she was told by Celebrity the only back to back bans they currently have is for the Millenium sailings from St. Maarten.  So...once again...inconsistency.

We have made final on the 6/13/21 7 night on the Equinox in and out of Fort Lauderdale. Check-in opened up with check in time of 3:00 to 3:30. Along with Express pass. Is this normal for a cruise that might be cancelled. It was fun to finally check in.

Yes, it's normal even for a cruise that might get cancelled.  We've checked in for more than 10 that were subsequently cancelled so it means nothing...unfortunately 🙁

Very useful information. We more or less alternate between HAL and Celebrity, and the one Princess cruise we had booked was for last summer, so we haven't actually sailed with them yet. They are at the top of our list now, however, and I hope we can enjoy savings similar to yours.

We enjoy Princess and are Elite with them. They are our 2nd choice in cruise lines.  We think the  food is better/higher quality on Celebrity and enjoy the roomier bathrooms, especially the shower on Celebrity (for veranda and lower stateroom categories).  Prior to Always Included, the perks for Elite Plus on Celebrity outweighed the perks for Elite on Princess. Now that Princess has an 'all perks' option which has been lower by quite a bit on most cruises I've compared to Celebrity, we may be cruising with them more than Celebrity in the future.  And as an added bonus, I may not gain as much weight...lol!

But one has to wonder if cruise lines will survive this pandemic.

I received a reply to my email today. Not only did they say that I've already received the 30 PUPs (I got 2 CC points not 5) but they said "I count 42 Power Up Points included in your personal total of 610 Club Points at Elite tier." I have 686 points.

I don't know where they get their info from. I was on the phone with an agent this week who thanked me for my Elite Plus loyalty with 995 points. I replied "Don't think so and don't know where you're seeing that info as I have over 2,000 points!!!" He gave no explanation 😕

  7. This was in my email message for my May 23rd Caribbean sailing cancellation:

"From now through March 23, you have the option of keeping your cruise vacation plans to the same destination and rescheduling for next year on a date within four weeks of your originally scheduled departure. Just contact us or your travel partner for details and your reservation will be shifted at the same daily rate including any promotion you currently have on the booking."

So you can choose a 6 or 8 night Ft. Lauderdale departure and they'll adjust your rate accordingly.

  8. We had the Drinks & More on a sailing and enjoyed it, particularly the mini bar. It was very nice having it replenished daily and not having to remember to get bottled water before retiring each night.  The wines were okay, nothing to brag about but drinkable. The only issue we had was the lack of the snack cans of Pringles but was not a big deal to us.  They did not get their Pringles supply replenished prior to departure so they ran out. We really enjoyed the Kind bars. It's a great deal for 7 night or less cruises.

More duplication ... unreal.  Could give benefit of the doubt that Korry & Rhonda are spouses and they have different surnames, but then why go to the trouble of getting a “snap shot” of the original to make it look a bit different?

    Oh well - his Karma!

@garyl62 - I couldn’t find the duplication of your beautiful creation, so maybe it was deleted (DW recognizing the error of her ways).

Setting the facts straight here for all interested.  The original picture and posting is from my bff cruise and travel buddy Rhonda, who's married to Max.  We would be enjoying a beautiful trip together as we speak but hell froze over in Texas and we're stuck at home with flights cancelled through Weds.

Max is an amazing cook!  Hubby and I know from personal experience.  This is HER post, not the Pearls who plagiarized her post. She'll be contacting Captain's Club to report.

IMO, this should not be tolerated/allowed/accepted by the Captain's Club.  Some of us did not even receive this opportunity and it's not right that someone takes advantage like this. I'm sure I'll be receiving negative replies on this and I don't care. "Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those that do."

So after confirming with my TA about the 6/12 8 night which is now the 6/13 7 night, nothing from Celebrity, and my reservation still has the 8 night listed. They are selling the 7 night, and my cabin is showing available. Wondering how I will get the same cabin if someone books my cabin on the 7 night.

The same thing applies to us for the 7/10 8 night which is now 7/11 7 night so I created a courtesy hold for our cabin. They have not modified our resv yet and I did not want to fight to get it back.  I expected Celebrity to remove already booked cabins from inventory before making the sailing available to the public, giving us the opportunity to rebook, but they didn't.  IMO, not very good customer service.  What would happen if someone booked our cabin?  Would Celebrity tell them 'sorry you can't have it after all. We made a mistake'?  I would not be happy if I were in their shoes either!

We just received an email from our travel agent that enclosed a letter from Celebrity. The letter stated that the summer sailings for the Equinox are being replaced by seven night Caribbean sailings leaving on Sunday. Eight night sailings will be reduced to seven night sailings (rates will be protected) and six night sailings will be converted to seven night sailings (rates will be protected). An additional 100 OBC will be issued.

Did they give any details on what you need to do? Request a rebook? Or do they automatically 'move' your booking to the same cabin?

Page 32 of the CDC order says cruise lines applying for permission to sail are not even allowed to offer cruises more than 7 days until Nov 1 2021 or until further order by the Gov't.  They'd have to apply for a waiver, and we can assume it wouldn't be granted.  Why there are longer cruises still being sold is beyond me.  Apparently X either hasn't put in their application, or this is just a money grab on deposits until these cruises are all cancelled.  JMHO

I surely hope they're not 'breaking the law' by continuing to sell these. This could open up a huge can of worms for them. But if the vaccine becomes widely available and the pandemic is vastly improved, sailings longer than 7 days could begin prior to Nov 1st. They're probably hopeful as I am too that by May/June things could be so much better and cruising somewhat back to normal. One can always hope. There needs to be light at the end of the tunnel soon or this world may never recover 😢

  13. We are booked on the 5/23/21 (6nt) and the 5/29/21 (8nt) Equinox. All of the 6nt Equinox sailings disappeared from Celebrity's website. Our Captain's Club upcoming sailings now show the 5/23/21 as a 7nt returning 5/30/2021 yet the 5/29/21 sailing still shows as an 8nt departing 5/29/21.  Hmmm. This tells me the 8nt departing 5/29/2021 would have to be changed to a 7nt and depart 5/30/2021.  Will just wait and see what they decide.

Yes, it matters...do it for both accounts..

I contacted the Captains Club about this. Hubby was getting surveys but I wasn't. I was told since our accounts are linked together, we should both receive the points he completed the surveys for and we indeed did!.

No bonus on a FCC, they will reinstate the used FCC at it original value.

I knew that so based on your answer, we will receive 2 FCCs - one for the original FCC at its original value  and another FCC for the 125% balance.  The FAQ's make it sound like they'd add these together and issue a totally new 1, not 2, FCC(s).  That's my question. It makes a big difference as to how we would apply to our already booked cruises.

  16. Ditto to above...true vacation for me...no cooking, no bed making, someone is making my meals so no kitchen/dish cleaning and awesome bartenders making our drinks! Also, no grocery shopping for the condo/vacation accommodations!  The amazing crew, staff and experience.  I could go on but in a nutshell, it's EVERYTHING!!!

I use a TA and got reminder of final payment for our Early November cruise (not cancelled yet).   I had FCC's applied and only had to pay $500 in cash.

Has anyone had any experience with a cruise being cancelled that a FCC was used for?   Do they just reinstate the old FCC's or do they give you a new one for the full 125%

Curious too since we used FCCs from cancelled Mar/Apr Summit (at 125%) and applied them to Oct 17th Summit which was recently cancelled.  Will we receive 1) an FCC for the total amount or 2) will they reinstate the Mar/Apr FCCs and give a new one for the remaining balance of Oct 17th cruise?

Received an email from our ta(big outlet in NH), and was told that our 10/17/20 cruise on the Summit is cancelled!!

    Hal

Hmm....we're booked on that cruise with the same TA but haven't been notified.  Wondering why we have not been, especially since we have 10+ sailings with them through Aug 2021.  Time will tell.

  19. Has anyone been notified this cruise has been cancelled/affected due to the ship being chartered? The jazz cruise website shows the ship will be used for an 8nt sailing from 1//13/22 to 1/21/22.  I was very excited to book this cruise as we had never been to St Vincent and now seems it's a no go 😪  I read another post re: poster received call from Celebrity that their Infinity 2/26/22 was cancelled due to a charter so I'm curious if anyone got a call from Celebrity for this Summit sailing.  We're booked with a TA and have not heard anything yet.

  20. Our 3/28 & 4/4 Summit cruises were suspended on 3/14. We did nothing which is what Celebrity said to do if you wanted the FCC in lieu of a refund. We were originally told the FCCs would arrive by 4/13. We finally got them on 5/1. We received the refund for the port fees and taxes on one of the cruises on 4/22. We have not yet received them for the other one.

I've read on either Facebook or Cruise Critic that someone was told by Celebrity that they had completed all of the March cruises. Obviously not! If your TA is easy to contact, call them. If yours is like mine, deals with emails only, try calling the Celebrity engagement team (844) 418-6824. They are very helpful.
