  1. We were on the Equinox last sailing in cabin 1608 and there's noise from the dragging of the pool lounge chairs in the morning (fortunately not too early!) and late afternoons and noise from the music on the nights they had pool deck parties (fortunately ended before midnight). We experienced the same on the Eclipse in December in cabin 1606. We did not experience any traffic noise nor any noise from the grand foyer. There was occasional noise from the stateroom attendants supply closet but not everyday.

  2. Leaving the door to the cabinet the fridge is in, helps a little.

Did you mean to say leaving the door 'open' ??? We've always kept our doors to the cabinet closed so it would be good to know it helps some to leave them open.

  3. We love the Summit! It's our favorite M class ship. I do prefer the S class ships, love the bathrooms (really spacious and nice shower with a door rather than a curtain), bigger martini bar with more seating area and a nice sunset bar on the top deck.

Unless Captain Kate extended her leave, she should be back on board late March. A poster stated they were on the plane with her when she left mid December. I'm keeping my fingers crossed she'll be with us for our B2B Mar 27th/Apr 1st.

Unfortunately for us but great for Ashley, she's no longer a Captain's Club Hostess. She was fabulous. She's now in the corporate office.

  4. You can dress formal on any night you like, not just chic night.:)

Very true and I have witnessed passengers dressing formal/chic on smart casual nights. Perhaps, they just got the nights mixed up :D. I just thought maybe the OP was wanting to be prepared, rather than caught off guard, for formal/chic nights because they enjoyed dressing formal.

  5. "Many" greatly overstates the reality. "Some" would be accurate in English; however, "a few" is more accurate.

While other posters have difficulty understanding that people have different opinions, some cruisers hope that formal wear will eventually be banned or discouraged. My preference, that more mature posters might allow any other poster, is the even more relaxed approach on Azamara. :)

I was merely stating my own opinion. And, yes, "some" would be more accurate based on the number of passengers.

  6. What difference does it make? Since they dropped the formal nights, anything other than jeans is considered acceptable (and designer jeans are probably also acceptable!) - whether it is a smart casual or a chic night.

Because there are many that still enjoy dressing formal and that is still an option on 'chic' nights.

  7. Thanks for the wine info too. Is the $35 beer covered in the package?

You get fine craft beers, top-shelf spirits, premium cocktails and wines-by-the-glass up to $13 per serving. Plus, with purchase of the premium package, you get 20% discount on all wines by the bottle purchased on board.

If it's over $13, you pay the difference but I don't know if this applies to 'happy hour' prices on craft beers.

  8. John Grantham is on Equinox at the moment. I will be boarding Equinox next week. I have heard good things about him

Really hope he's still onboard on the 20th. He's very personable and quite visible around the ship and likes to chat. We really enjoyed his talk in the theater about his Hollywood stunt man days.

  9. Thanks for the island information. I think my DH will fall in love with the GastroBar. Thanks for the info on the small plates and burgers. Do you know if you need the Premium package to try the craft beers.

Yes, you will need the premium package for craft beers since the classic package limits the price to $6 a bottle.

  10. Thank you for that info. I believe that offer changed and was also wondering the current offer for late 2018 and early 2019 caribbean sailings.

The cruises we booked on board were Caribbean sailings in February 2019. The offer we received must have expired already.

  11. Thank you for the info but I'm looking for current on board booking perk info.

We booked on 12/14 while onboard and they were offering the Go Better! (choice of 2 perks-bevg pkg, obc, gratuities or internet) for the same price as Go Big! and, of course, the additional obc for booking onboard. Suites get the Go Best!

  12. We were just on the Eclipse in an Aqua Class cabin (A1) on the hump (cabin 1606) and it seemed to me the shower stall was smaller than others 'width wise'. We sailed one other time in an A1 cabin but has been a while ago, it wasn't on the hump and I don't recall having a problem with hitting my elbows on the wall until this last sailing. We've sailed in ocean view and verandas many times and their shower stalls seem to be wider. Are they???

  13. We are on the Eclipse just after you (in February).

Would you please come back on here after your cruise and update the "Who's On Board" for us.

    Thanks!

Captain Leo is on the Eclipse until Feb. 19th for sure. Just not sure if he continues on the following sailing. We just got off the ship this morning. He was amazing...as usual :D

  14. Does anyone know the lineup of officers, cruise director and c.c. hostess for December 21 sailing on Celebrity Eclipse. Is Simons still GRM?

To the best of my knowledge and unless something has changed in the last couple weeks, Simona will be going on leave when the current cruise completes (the 11th). She was hoping to get extended for the holidays but did not :(. She's the best!!! I'll find out for sure when we embark on Sunday.
