  1. Who knows? Totally depends on your current itinerary, the projected path of the hurricane, and what islands outside said path would be reachable (with open berths) in the time available. Maybe none at all- a cruise to no where.
  2. I am very impressed. And moreso that you remember not just that you were there, but that you remember what was going on while you were there! My memory of the Led Zepplin concert in '71 is a (self inflicted) total blur.
  3. Unfortunately, paying the extra for a suite does not guarantee a better class of clientele. A$$●◇es abound everywhere.
  4. If it wasn't possible, AC wouldn't be allowed to post that connection. YUL's US CUSTOMS preclearence has dedicated lines for Global Entry and NEXUS holders, with kiosks, so in theory, its doable as long as the first flight is on time. But no dawdling allowed!
  5. Which ship? Are you in a suite or Aqua class? If you are on an Edge class ship or either of those 2 cabin classes, there is no traditional dining. There is only Select, or any time dining. Just show up when you are ready to dine. If you are on an M or S class ship, just go to the MDR Maitre d' when you embark and ask to be changed to Anytime dining.
  6. So the OP waited a year after her cruise to join CC for the purpose of making a grand exit announcement from X. Well almighty then. We are all properly devastated at the loss.
  7. Interesting that only one person has mentioned sun screen. It's always in my day bag. I add mosquito repellant if the excursion is likely to head into a bug prone area. I always carry water. Plus the stuff mentioned up thread.
  8. Somewhere on your cruise line website will be a list of forbidden items that you cant bring on board. Mostly items that could be a hazard in one form or another. Each cruiseline has a policy about what alcohol, soft drinks, and water that can be brought on. Anything confiscated at embarkation will be returned at disembarkation. Regarding foodstuffs- be sure you are aware of any Customs restrictions where you disembark.
  9. A 5 day cruise, irrespective of school holidays, is going to have more kids on board than one of a week or longer. But your cruise shouldn't be impacted by spring break.
  10. I said UP TO a couple of hours away. And depending on mode of travel (bus, car, train). Livorno to Florence vs La Spezia to Florence. Trieste or Ravenna to Venice. Even Civit. to Rome is going to be an hour . At least the Naples dock is actually in Naples. Those who have cruised outside of the US and Caribbean are aware of how may ports are distant from the main sites of interest. But this is often news to those less well traveled than yourself
  11. Here you go: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/464-italy-ports/ You don't mention which ports in Italy, but be aware that the port the ship docks at is often (usually) up to a couple of hours away from the actual place most cruisers want to see.
  12. There is no such thing as an all in one drinks package (in case anyone is looking). There is an All Included fare option for eligible cabin categories which includes the Classic Beverage pkg and Basic wifi. Alternatively you can choose a Sail only fare and purchase the beverage package and wifi package separately. You need to do your own math with the current pricing for your sailing to see which would be to your advantage. Of course, drinks with a package arent free- you have paid for them with the package. Free drinks - cheap sparkling wine at the "art" auctions? Or limited happy hour drinks once you reach Elite status. Or drinks in the Retreat Lounge if you have paid for a suite.
  13. Not with any degree of accuracy. But you can check for available cabins in each category a week or so before sailing.
  14. Your passport is a legal document and can be rejected by any Immigration Control officer if ANYTHING appears "off". Don't screw it up by adding souvenir stamps to it.
  15. Almost $6K for a bev pkg? I don't care how long your cruise is; that's too much.
  16. And, for all that you hold dear, NEVER mention Star Wars in a Star Trek conversation. ☄️
  17. However, the OP didn't state what his partner's wishes are. I would hope that he has already had this discussion with her, or dining may not be the only thing he does alone.
  18. The Ports of Call forum for the Med is a good source of information; at least as a starting point. If DIY touring is new to you, I'd suggest getting the Rick Steves Guide to Mediterranean Cruising. You're welcome.
  19. Gosh, did you know that every post has a date? And that NO ONE is required to read any post that they consider outdated? Just scroll until you find a post with a date you deem acceptable. You honestly think the entire website needs to be revamped because you don't want to read old posts? How about not using a chainsaw to trim a handrail? You could suggest to the site administrators or webmasters that they consider adding an optional search filter to limit threads less than a year or 2 old. Oops. I made a mistake, for which I apologize. Under 'more search options', after first entering the search terms there already exists an option to limit the latest date for previous entries. I wonder how many people aren't careful with precisely wording their search, and then neglect to use any of the advanced features.
  20. I don't think I can remember a cruise where we weren't delayed at least once waiting for a late excursion.
  21. Depends on what the person did for a living. I know more than a few doctors and lawyers who would not answer that question. Or would say they did something mundane and boring. Because they didn't feel like handing out free medical/legal advice for the rest of the cruise. My SIL works in a sensitive government position. He never gives out occupational information to anyone without a need to know . For some people it doesn't matter. For others it is needlessly intrusive. I never ask that- it's none of my business.
  22. You are 30 years old but still feel the need to ask for parental permission before doing something? Are you still living at home or dependant on them financially, which would infer such an obligation? No need to answer- it was rhetorical. Time (far past time IMO) to cut the cord. Dont ask your parents; tell them. Go and enjoy your independence. You've already been on enough cruises to know how to connect socially with your fellow cruisers when you want to. I was travellling internationally, and living a couple of thousand miles from home by my mid 20s. Both of my daughters were the same. In fact my elder daughter had done more travelling than I had before she was 30. Be smart. Be prudent. Live your life.
  23. Attractions in London are quite spread out, so there is no "best" location. Anywhere in Central London will work, as long as it's close to a tube stop. Rule of thumb- if it's within the borders of the Circle Line, you're OK.
