  1. They really need something in the app like NCL has; it shows you current wait/demand for any given restaurant. Maybe they have this on those ships, haven't seen it. The whole run around and see where you can get in is not what I consider good service.
  2. Yes, and the reservation system typically shows nothing available except 9PM or later. All you can realistically do is just show up and go where the wait is the least. How/Why did they change this; this doesn't seem better?
  3. There used to be theme nights every night in MDR; now they just gutted about 40% of the offerings. You won't starve!
  4. Did anyone ever get an answer as to MDR menu availability?
  5. For now. May soon become an MDR/sit down restaurant item and removed fro.....oops. Too soon
  6. Who could go to this and said they had a first class dinner? Who could manage this and with a straight face feel any pride in their work? Cici's Pizza (bottom of barrel garbage) is only $6 everyday. If you made this video there you'd just see less rice and potatoes.
  7. Did anyone else notice in the video the thumping, bassy club music in OVC at dinner? They 100% want to drive people out of there. That's a decision to play that because they know no one wants to sit through that.
  8. How do you beat me by seconds each time? Are you just me, but with brevity?
  9. Well, as you said, you aren't a fan of art gallery or casino, and that's fine. But by your logic I would tell you to take your business elsewhere because not 100% of the things appeal to you. Nothing appeals to anyone 100% in life. Chasing perfection is a fools errand. If you have something you mostly enjoy though, you can always look for ways it can be improved for your enjoyment.
  10. The very first quick casual chain to have a cruise ship partnership was Johnny Rockets, and it was free when it came out and remained free for a few years. Then a charge was added. Yes, there was a handful of upcharge dinner venues at that time, but this was the first quick casual / tied in to a name brand on land. Royal offered some half hearted excuses as to the reason for the charge and loyalists parrot them to this day, and so basically Royal is the only cruise line that has gotten away with charging for basic poolside hamburgers in part due to their partnering with a brand. I consider that a cutback
  11. I can't believe that's the whole dinner. Like...waiting for there to be more. This is like a fancy assisted living home, not like my last Celebrity cruise and nothing like the phenomenal HAL dinner buffets each night w different themes.
  12. That's how you get more cutbacks. It's OK to have preferences.
  13. I know this one is like touching the third rail; and not saying anything about or negative towards the poster who is upset; but I have got to imagine a LOT of people get on a cruise in the next few months expecting one thing and being hit with a totally different reality. Unique and active cruise critic members is not even a drop in the bucket for the overall cruising population. I could certainly envision people not willing to pay increased service charges for decreased services/amenities/included options. IJS; Celebrity might be squarely aimed at their own feet.
  14. I don't go to chain's at home and don't want to when traveling. I know it comes down to a matter of branding, and I do think a Five Guys burger is must better than a mast grill one, but in general I don't want exactly the same meal I could get at home, or one whipped up by Chef Mike.
  15. 💯 agree. That opens up a new can of worms about "which" previous level; but so long as their is consensus that downmarket ain't the right way, that's a good way forward.
  16. Don't wait to book onboard; then it is $74.99+20%. the pre-cruise discount is where it's at. select either fries OR onion rings.
  17. "Mast Grill Under the Stars - Indulge in our new open air dining venue and take a bit of day time fun into the evening with classic international grill fare. $51.99+20%"
  18. And that's only at the discounted price being offered today. Re-calculate using the every day 109++ price.
  19. Had not thought of that. Good point made there (no pun intended). I added my one future booking to GG now. All these "free points" given out over past couple of years is more likely to result in degradation of perks or moving of goal posts, but that said I am not going to not take them so long as they advance me in the current program.
  20. The "trappers" get paid big money to catch them in HOA gated communities, then just set them loose outside the fence line and they come right back. That's called job security.
  21. No, 109 is the pre-gratuity price. Right now the PDP is on sale for my cruise at $98.99pp + 20% added in the cart. The drink package costs more than the cruise, taxes, fees.
  22. There is no scenario where Celeb loses money doing this.
  23. Wow, got it by seconds. I genuinely would buy you a drink on a cruise.
  24. Less than 5% of current bookings are FCC's. I would suggest they start charging corkage at time of boarding. That's $20 per bottle of revenue and no one is restricted from having what they want. Only those that want to bring wine are charged. It is totally optional, non-punitive, and does not negatively impact my experience to add that charge. Other cruise lines already do exactly this and there is *no* logical counterpoint to it. Other than that, Celebrity can make unpopular and shortsighted decisions on their own; a better thread would be suggestions for improvements.
