  1. Back in 2010 or 11 there was such a glut of lobster in New England that chickens (one to one and a quarter pounds) were being sold for a couple bucks each. We were on the Dawn from Beantown to Bermuda .NCL literally went out and purchased thousands of lobsters. They served them in the MDRs the first and second nights. The first night it was one per person. The second night, since lobsters only live under refrigeration for so long, it was come and get em, all you can eat till they were gone. Think I consumed four that night!! It was cheaper for NCL to serve someone a lobster than it was a steak!! The lobster tails served now all seem to be Florida/ Gulf Coast rock lobster. It's like comparing a filet mignon to a London broil. No comparison!!
  2. No. As long as you can prove you are positive via a proctored/supervised test you are entitled to a full refund or FCC, your choice. If you test positive while cruise is underway, your fare will be pro-rated.
  3. Are those shots from your home? If so, you must have had great front row seats for the America's Cup back in 17!
  4. Except for no room service charges for breakfast, the spa credit, and the canapes, platinum members receive all the rest. Technically, I guess you could come out ahead if you had breakfast delivered everyday ( roughly $84.00 in charges) and had at least two spa massages/treatments ($100.00). Language is kind of vague as to how many spa sessions the credit can be used for. If it is more than two, you'd be that much further ahead. BTW, are those complimentary canapes Del Monte or Libby?
  5. Obviously, I have no ides what your mobility issues are. However, if you use a scooter, walker(rolly as my wife calls it), crutches, etc., you'll have use of an elevator to take you to security. There is then a line just for folks with mobility issues. After security, you'll have a dedicated check-in line for haven guests. Next, you'll go to an area only for haven guests to await being the first group to board.
  6. Forgot to mention you could always buy an additional Specialty Dining Package, for as many meals as you desired.
  7. You get 1,2, or 3 nights dining based on cabin choice and length of cruise. 3-6 nights, any cabin, gets you one night. 7-11 nights in a studio, inside , or oceanview is good for 1 night; balcony and above 2 nights. On 12 day or longer cruises, studios, insides, and oceanviews get 2 nights; everything above and including balconies receive 3 nights. You used to get more nights in each category, but "specialtydiningflation" hit NCL a while back.
  8. The cancellation notice says June 15 and June 24 sailings have been cancelled. Wouldn't the 24ths cruise be the next cruise after the 15ths? Just asking.
  9. Didn't mean to offend. And yes, i am one of the "average age of the cruising population". And loving every minute of it!!
  10. The reps at the cruise terminals LOVE you if you have paper copies of your e-docs, vaccination status, negative covid test, and perhaps your Bermuda Travel Authorization, amongst others I may not have thought of. Tales of folks holding up the check-in line while searching through their phones for these items are all too common. And then you have those who have little or no cell phone service from their carrier inside the terminal, or those who "forgot " to charge their phones and now can't access the info. Print print, print!!
  11. After you finish online check-in, you'll receive an e-mail within a short time telling you your e-docs are ready to print. You'll also be able to print out your luggage tags at the same time. ( Unless you're one of the chosen few who get their tags in the mail). NCL does not mail you any boarding papers. I assumed that is what you meant by "send you". Happy Cruising!!
  12. A tram has two large "cars" equi-distant on a (sometimes) very long cable, which can be over a mile in length. When one car is at the top, the other is at the bottom. They only ever meet in the middle, Gondolas have lock/release mechanisms that allow the cars to come off the main cable for loading/unloading.
  13. Yes, one bag each for platinum. Plus our cabin of choice is a mini-suite, so an additional free bag, for a total of three. We tend to pack a lot lighter than before we were platinum. However, with shrinkflation hitting the laundry bags, we'll see how it plays out in the future.
  14. Boston had CAS priority check-in and boarding for years pre-covid. Once you went through security, the first check in line was for CAS guests only. You were then put in group A and boarded after havens, suites, and folks with mobility issues. Didn't see it recently, but not many things are as they were.
  15. Did you book through a TA? It has been posted here on CC that not all TAs participate in the upgrade program. Outside of that, it's always been hit or miss as to whether we get invited to bid for an upgrade. No rhyme or reason.
  16. Dolphin touch is the right way to go. The dolphin swim is not worth the trip, as the saying goes, especially not for young kids. There is Snorkel Park, which is within easy walking distance of the dolphins. Swim, snorkel, enjoy the beach. Not the best beach but close. I believe the price is now $15.00 per person per day. There is a miniature golf course in the same area. You could grab a taxi and go to one of the beaches, like Horseshoe. Or hire a taxi for 4 hours to bring your family to BAMZ ( Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo) and then maybe stop at the Swizzle Inn for lunch.Keeping the driver with you at all times will ensure you make it back to your ship in time for embarkation. Happy Sailing!!
  17. What kind of comments were you looking for?
  18. Once your upgrade bid is accepted and you've been notified, NCL has already charged your credit card and has your money. You're also usually within days or a few weeks at most when notified, so way beyond final payment. So my guess would be no.
  19. Real time weather (via Bermuda Web Cam) around 7:00PM/8:00PM Bermuda time showed heavy rain, visibility maybe to Heritage Wharf, and the palm trees were on the move!!
  20. Haven't had to fill out a customs form since , probably, 2017. Is anyone still having to fill these out?
  21. What would happen if your credit card had insufficient credit to pay the bill? What would they (NCL) do then . Just wondering.
  22. You're sure the real reason you pick level 1 excursions isn't that you're not as young as you used to be, like the rest of us?
  23. You should have had a public ferry on Saturday to Hamilton ( reduced runs on weekends). No public ferry to St. George on the weekends, only operates M-F. The NCL ferry is for NCL ships only.
