  1. I take it to mean if you’re 11 and under, no vaccines or testing required. If you are 12 or older, in order not to have to take a Covid test, you’ll have to show proof of vaccination. Without proof, you will have to show a negative Covid test. And they have changed the testing time requirements. Currently, it is two days for antigen, and three days for pcr. After 9/2, it will be up to three days before embark for both tests. Now,if only Bermuda would lift their requirement…. .
  2. How would you know that? Really? Huh? Me thinks Popeye might have had a little of that smuggled booze in his spinach tonight!!
  3. 100% agree. We all should always know where the closest emergency exit is, where the closest fire extinguisher is, location of an AED if provided, how to contact security in a hurry if needed, etc. Taking the time to read the info on the back of your cabin door and knowing how to get to your muster station could save your life.
  4. It never happened. Because the NCL ferry has always gone to St.George’s, not to Hamilton.
  5. Yes! You obviously live a gifted life!!
  6. The Gem or Star. We’re “seniors “ too, and don’t need the bells and whistles of the Breakaway or the Epic!
  7. As Tyskie said above, packing tape works great. Just cover the front and back of the tag with tape- the long way. Then wrap tag around luggage handle and tape the ends together. Done right, it’s almost unbreakable.
  8. Always sail in a club balcony, and have never received tags in the mail. Not that you haven’t, just we never have.
  9. Forgot to mention. You can go on You-Tube and watch any number of videos that will show you the testing process.
  10. We did e-meds. Easy Peazy! You order the tests ( which I would order today and ship priority to ensure you receive them by your test day which would be next Wednesday),Tests were 25.00 per person plus shipping. We ordered six, so total bill was about $167.00. You then register each person under e-meds “NAVICA” app. Come test day, you log into the app and a Procter/Supervisor will come on and walk you through the test. Generally, it takes twenty to thirty minutes per person. You get your results almost immediately. You can then just keep the results on your phone, or print them if you wish.( The folks at the pier love you if you show up with printed results.) As long as your tests were negative, you’re good to go! A lot cheaper than what you were quoted.
  11. Call your Congress man/woman or Senator. Those freebie tests were courtesy of the US government. They (Walgreens, RiteAid, CVS) weren’t doing them out of their good graces. They were being reimbursed.
  12. Obviously, as stated above, your DH needs glasses. The left piece looks like fashion from India, the right design was evidently taken from a VW microbus, circa 1965. Not alike at all!
  13. And if you can’t go for some reason, I’ll gladly be second choice!!
  14. Low to mid seventies daytime/ low to mid sixties at night. No humidity. We’ve generally found almost perfect weather there late October/early November and early to mid April. For us NH folk, the water is still like bath water. Compared to home!
  15. It must be nice to consider being a camp counselor in the mid 2000s a “very long time ago”. Some of us on CC, ( actually a great many from what I can deduce) think that Woodstock was a “very long time ago”!!! Happy cruising!
  16. Go to the NCL Sailsafe section. Go to the European sailings. There is a specific area relating to cruises out of Piraeus. I would take that info as definitive, as it’s straight from NCL. You could probably call three different reps and get three different answers, as, according to these boards, has happened to far too many people too many times.
  17. You need to take the antigen test two days before embarkation. Let me assume, being from Pelham NH that you are cruising on the Pearl out of Boston. The ship sets sail on Friday each week, so you would take your test on Wednesday. You have literally up to the time you arrive at the port to obtain your negative supervised/ proctored test results. As long as you can show proof of a negative test, it doesn’t matter when you receive it. As far as the forty eight hours go, you could take a test on Wednesday at 11:OOPM and set sail Friday at 5:00PM. That would be a window of forty two hours, and as long as you have your negative test results, you’ d be good to go. The wording, as you say, is correct. The NCL rep is wrong.
  18. NCL has a “Dress up or not” night”. It’s a night for those who wish to to dress up for a “night on the town”.Dinner, dancing, and a show maybe. Or just strolling around in their finery. Some folks take the opportunity to have formal pictures done professionally. It used to be a time to have your picture taken with Officers, up to and including the Captain. However, with Covid I don’t know if that is still occurring, . Again, it’s totally voluntary, not mandatory. Some will dress up, some won’t. Guess that’s why NCL calls it “freestyle cruising”!!
  19. He is a crew member and was asked what type of gifts fellow crew members like to receive. Makes no difference what his crew position is.
  20. From Chris Wong, YouTube cruise vlogger and currently Assistant Casino Host on RCI Ovation: 1. US SIM cards with data 2, Especially if the crew member is from the Philippines— Any NBA teams jerseys or hats, or NBA sports memorabilia in general 3. Any food items from their home country. 4.Socks!! He states a good supply of socks keeps crew members from wasting precious “off time” in the laundromat. 5. Positive, glowing comments on crew comment cards or hero cards. Says to please name the crew member you’re commenting on, as opposed to a generalized recommendation such as “ the casino crew was great” 6. He doesn’t say it, but we all know that cash is king!!
  21. Sofas in balconies are smaller than those in mini-suites ( or in NCL speak-Club Balcony Suites).
  22. Bermudian officials publicly stated two or three months ago that the BermudaTravel Authorization wouldn’t be dropped sooner than March of 2023. At least they lowered the cost by $35.00 and eliminated the need to upload negative Covid test results two days before embarkation, putting everyone on pins and needles wondering if their authorization would arrive on time. Though you still need a negative test result to board the ship, which Bermuda recognizes.
  23. As the OP, thank you for returning and acknowledging everyone’s responses. Too many times on these boards someone asks a question, people take the time to research and answer their query, and the OP ( Original poster) is never heard from again. Again, thank you.
  24. Actually, the more you advance, the further BEHIND you get. If you were getting ahead, you wouldn’t need more advances!!
