  1. I don't think anyone on CC is going to attempt to predict the weather 3 1/2 months from now. Especially in the mid to north Atlantic. Search for historical weather sites for Bermuda. That should give you some idea of weather patterns from the past. Temperature ranges are easy to predict; storms - not so much!!
  2. A couple weeks like that they should own the ship!!
  3. Pearl was just a touch over 2000 pax, or roughly 85% 8/26-9/2.
  4. For what people have paid to reach that level, they probably do!
  5. Well, if I'm on a cruise and all I can get is Coca-Cola products, I would tend to think those were the "official" beverages on that ship. Officially or not!!
  6. Just like a new car smell? Ended yesterday. Was in effect from 7/1-8/31.
  7. Funny how the press release says the Prima will be the first ship to have Coke, when several already have it. Must have been prepared a while ago.
  8. Those "free" Ambassador balcony cruises cover cabin fare only. You still pay port fees, taxes, other fees they can dream up, and DSC. A free cruise to Bermuda right now would cost you $745.54 ($521.54 in fees and $224.00 for the DSC.) If you then added the FAS drink/dining package, you'd be looking at $1062.34 for your free cruise. A person/couple could theoretically go on one hundred cruises at seven points per cruise to reach Ambassador. You would think after spending that huge amount of money over the years their free cruise would actually be free. But we are talking NCL here. NCLs definition of free and Merriam-Webster's definition of free don't reside in the same dictionary.
  9. A few years ago (4?5?Longer?) NCL tried to impose a rule that no one could bring food from any venue back to their cabin. It was a short lived attempt at absurdity. Our last cruise in April we had no problem bringing fries and wings from O'Sheehan's back to the cabin.
  10. Once you hit platinum, if you're a tier chaser, it's not worth the chase!!
  11. You could have booked dining reservations 73-83 days ago, depending on your cabin and/or latitudes level.( 130 days before embarkation for suites/haven; 125 for club balconies; 120 for OVs and insides.) No entertainment venues require reservations. There are no large production shows on the Pearl. I downloaded the app and could never make it work. Probably because I'm old and cell-phone/ computer illiterate!! Didn't matter. Never needed it for anything.
  12. Thank you. Have read that info too many times. Yes, it says you can transfer CNCs. But it doesn't explain the process. I thought I had read on CC a few months ago that both the buyer and seller could send an e-mail in to NCL authorizing the transaction, and NCL would facilitate the switch within a few days. In the past, you had to go through a rep and the other party to the transaction had to be available at the same time. The rep would put you on hold and call the second person to verify the deal. Thanks, Buford T Justice for your suggestion. However, that website was no help. Guess I'll try the old fashioned way. And for anyone who may be in a tizzy that this isn't allowed on CC, I'm simply trying to give my son and DIL two certificates for an upcoming cruise they are interested in taking. Was just trying to make it easy.
  13. Is there an online process to transfer CNCs? I can't find any info on the NCL site, and don't remember it being discussed recently here on CC. Thanking you in advance.
  14. Do you remember if Bob Gal was still on the ship? He played piano and sang. Had a huge library of songs; played in Maltings/Shakers each evening. Said his contract ended when the ship went south for the winter. Our next cruise is the end of October. Was just wondering if he was still there. Thanking you in advance!!
  15. Did you mean to post this on the Celebrity boards? These are the NCL boards.
  16. We only cruise from Boston. Maybe it’s a port thing.
  17. Just pick a time earlier than you expect to arrive.
  18. Once we hit platinum, no matter what arrival time we select, it always comes back as "Arrival Time-Open"
  19. Someone mentioned, I think, on the Coca-Cola thread from a few days ago that they had paid $3.60 for a soda. $3.00 plus .60 cent gratuity.
  20. The wife and I order a drink for sailaway- I'll order a Kahlua sombrero and she'll order whatever umbrella drink is available- and those are our drinks for the cruise. Also, those are our drinks until the next cruise!! Obviously, we don't drink much! .We do get the casino drink cards with which we get our cartons of water. As Sue Do-Overs hubby, I also buy the soda package. ( used to be Diet Pepsi but now will be Coke). Have always ordered two sodas at a time, one for me and one for the DW. No-one on any ship has ever questioned it.
  21. 9,12,14 days or whatever you you'll get a greater variety of ports/islands to visit in the Caribbean. B2B you just repeat the previous weeks itinerary. Boring!! Unless that's what you like to do , of course.
  22. It's funny. If we're eating at home, it's supper. If we're going to a restaurant at suppertime, we're "going out for dinner". Also we eat subs, drink sodas, all while wearing sneakers.
