  1. Not quite the same, able bodied supermarket customers could probably argue that there are far more blue badge and mother and baby spaces than is necessary.
  2. Let's all agree that its P&O fault for not having enough seats in the theatre to cater for all the various disabilities. Even worse not policing it well enough to ensure that everyone knows the correct protocol.
  3. I think you might get more sense out of the shore excursion staff, they normally organise the US immigration saga.
  4. TBH I normally only ever see adverts when watching live sports, otherwise I whizz passed them from recordings, but that OTB is just unbelievable.
  5. The problem may be @Selbourne that you may not be allowed back on board until all passengers have been through immigration. Unless you can arrange for someone else to take her through immigration and then meet her in the cruise terminal after your cruise, you may find it rather difficult. I think you need to check with the shore excursion team what options you have.
  6. After ali the Butlins at sea and Benidorm allegations that have been made about P&O recently I wonder what forum members think about the current crop of holiday adds, I am thinking particularly about the On the Beach one. The latest P&O one is quite appealing, I like the music, and the add is stylish and would interest me in a cruise if I had never had one. The Jet2 one follows their add theme with the same music and catchy presentation, again it would interest me if I still flew. TUI, is of course TUI, very family oriented but still appealing to my ideas of a family. But who are On the Beach trying to appeal to? I certainly would not want to go anywhere that the portrayed family are going, it would definitely spoil my restful start to a holiday if they suddenly burst into the club lounge and locust like devoured everything in the buffet.
  7. That's very good news for you Avril and Frank, and I can almost feel the relief you must be feeling from the tenor of your post. My best wishes to you both, and wishing Frank a speedy return to the best of health. John.
  8. We no longer take excursions but always go ashore for a wander and maybe a coffee or beer at a sidewalk cafe. However Santa Cruz Tenerife and Arecife Lanzarote are not the most scenic towns, so a shore excursion here might be worthwhile. But Las Palmas Gran Canaria has a lovely beech and long promenade with dozens of cafes, and Cadiz is a wonderful place to wander around with beautiful gardens on the promenade and delightful cobbled streets and plazas, especially the Cathedral plaza, to explore. Lisbon is an equally attractive tourist location, and all of the above are within walking distance of the ships berth, as are Fuerteventura and Funchal Madeira.
  9. We had one on our table at a Peninsular lunch pre covid, so I assumed he was one of the senior staff.
  10. If you do find a way, then please let us know how you did it.
  11. You do realise that the more pre booked tables are being held for passengers, the less flexibility there is for the old ATD concept for walk ups to be seated promptly. PCL have made this worse by operating this system on all 3 MDRs. Again, IMO, it would make more sense to make at least one MDR only for walk ups, and the other(s) for pre booking. For those who prefer spontaneity in their dining arrangements this would at least help them to enjoy Dining their way.
  12. It's odd that some P&O cruises can have 7 ports over 14 days while others have only 5.
  13. If P&O operate similar to Princess, then gift OBC should be refundable, and the non refundable is used up first, and any left refunded to your registered card.
  14. Really enjoying your blog @Selbourne, shame about the creaking cabin. I imagine that a bigger ship, like Iona, would cope much better with the sea swells, but probably worse with strong winds. Anyway the weather should improve now, and you then will have over 4 weeks of tropical weather to enjoy.
  15. Probably would depend on which airport you were using, and the demand for the date you were booking. If you happened to choose a date with a high demand, then the TUI flight(s) could have been booked up very early, and these would have been on sale since Nov 2021.
  16. M&S bank are pretty useless, I had their credit card stolen with my wallet last Feb in Tenerife, rang them and asked to only cancel mine and keep my wifes active, but both were cancelled, fortunately my main one is Nationwide and they were more accommodating. Incidentally the replacement card was declined in M&S on Monday, I rarely use it now since they closed our local branch, and only ever used it for M&S purchases.
  17. I don't send anything to Carnival, I request my broker to do that, and that is mainly because my brokers App and website, ii, seems to have no facility to print off a statement with all the necessary data. Anyway my next cruise in March already has the shareholder OBC, done by the old system in December. So the test will come next month when I will have to apply for my Sky Princess cruise in May.
  18. It's possible that the iPad to kindle connection might be Blue tooth, in which case I would think you might not need both to be connected to wi fi just nearby, but I am no expert so could be talking rubbish.
  19. That's OK if you have a certificate, which presumably can be checked by stockperks or Carnival from the shareholder record, however if you hold them via a broker, then unless stockperks access your current data from your broker, how will they know you still hold the shares?
  20. But what about future cruises, who provides the validation docs, you or stockperks?
  21. We do like to share tables, that is one of the enjoyments of a cruise holiday compared to a hotel holiday that we do enjoy, and having to switch to a table for two to ensure we finish our dinner in time for the show, is a computer system too far for me.
  22. We always used to enjoy seeing the headliners shows, and any tribute groups from the pre 90's era, and with the pre app system for the MDR this was reasonably easy. However we have found on P&O, and Princes, this has become almost impossible. If we use the virtual queue system we never know how long the wait will be, so we could end up having to cancel and re-book because they were ready too soon for us, or we end up with extended waits and then, even if we join the non booking queue, we end up with our dinner extending beyond the start time for the theatre. Then of course, because we had booked the theatre, and not wanting to be rude to table companions by fiddling on our phone to cancel it, our booking will have resulted in a late arrival disturbing others by trying to get to the only seats left in the middle of a row. And the moral of the story is, that whist ICF is happy with the new system, according Paul Ludlow 99% are not!!!!!😇
  23. I suspect that P&O are trying to encourage passenges to buy their wine by the glass. Certainly on price there no longer seems any cost benefit to buying by the bottle, at least for wines at my price point.
  24. I don't think Black &White is specified any more, they seem to have opted for terms like Gala and Celebtation or just plain Captains welcome aboard party.
  25. I have to admit I was sceptical about e-books at first, but via the library they are very easy to access and for a Yorkshireman their big advantage via the library is that they are free. We have to accept that some covid changes have proved to be very popular.
