  1. No they increased their costs by having to make 2 refunds instead of one.
  2. I have done similar and strangely enough it does seem to have reduced scam callers quite considerably. Perhaps they do run a black list.
  3. Many cruise lines make the Atrium a focal point of the ship by having lots of entertainment and lots of bars. So a glitzy atrium is far more beneficial than a bland airport terminal style.
  4. TBH why on earth would I want to book a table at any fixed time when I am on holiday and want to dine when the fancy takes me. That was always the beauty of Anytime Dining, I could just turn up when I felt like it on the day, and share a table with different people every night. If I wanted to dine at the same time every night with the same people I could choose fixed dining. Booking everything in advance is not my idea of a relaxing holiday, but it does definitely benefit the cruise line. If I dont book and then havie to face a long queue at the restaurant, or if the theatre is full, then it's my fault and not the cruise lines, even if they deliberately don't have enough dining covers to seat every passenger, or the theatre is not big enough for everyone. I am extremely surprised that there has not been more uproar from North American passengers who generally are very quick to complain when the cruise line reduces passengers choice.
  5. I cannot book a sharing table for anytime around 7:30 already on Sky for our cruise next May. Not checked later times after 8:00 , so they may open up later. Anyone else find this problem.
  6. I would love to see more accessible cabins, but you have to appreciate that there has to be a limit to seriously immobile passengers just in case there is an emergency leading to an abandon ship. In addition of course for every 2 accessible cabins a cruise line can fit in 3 standard cabins, which does have a financial implication.
  7. If you want a power chair Selbourne we have a nearly new one sitting in my sons garage which my wife never really got the hang of controlling.
  8. P&O have gone for the light and airy feel, with big windows providing views of, let me think???.... the empty ocean!!! Personally I would have preferred the Princess approach with lots of bars and eateries around the outside and plenty of seating, and then regular entertainment with groups providing music for lots of dancing every evening. After all there is the massive promenade deck providing lots of seating for the ocean watchers.
  9. You pay by credit or debit card, so cannot use any OBC.
  10. I realise that but this is an alternative.
  11. There is a very pleasant walk if you go left along the fjord, it does have some inclines but mainly follows the fjord. There is a garden of one house that is full of troll figures that you pass, we had a lovely sunny day which also helped us to enjoy the walk.
  12. Since they would be very unlikely to get back the full cost of any refurb, I doubt that is a viable option.
  13. Always reminds me of American city railway station.
  14. As a wheelchair users carer, I would not be happy to see one lift in each block dedicated to wheelchairs or those with other mobility issues, there are just not enough of us to make it practical. We have found that most people are willing to give us priority and only a few push ahead, and of course at very busy times everyone is delayed so why should we jump the queue.
  15. We both came home from our Princess cruise with IT, and I imagine any large holiday hotel would probably have similar results. So unless we want to become a recluse, we just have to take that risk.
  16. It varies all the time, however unless you are big spenders it might be best to book when it's at its lowest, because that's when the cruise fare will be at its cheapest.
  17. I thought that some of the Med fly cruises on Azura had the sales tax applied by the Italians.
  18. I dont think you get the 10% discount on the drinks package, just your loyalty discount.
  19. Michelle, do make sure that you have an authorisation letter signed by both parents, granting their permission for you to take the children on holiday.
  20. Probably like you because the price is right, although we have just done a Princess cruise and have another booked for May next year, and if their price is right then they would be our current first choice. However since we are no longer too fussed about the theatre shows, and don't bother much with the on board entertainment, nor shore excursions as the accessible ones are really only panoramic coach tours, and very expensive, so a simple warm weather cruise with good wheelchair access both on board and ashore, then we are more than happy.
  21. You have far too much faith in P&Os management than I do. Over 20 odd years of cruising I have found P&O ships to have the poorest on board hotel management compared with Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Star cruises, Thomson (now Marella) and Carnival themselves.
  22. Fortunately we don't feel the need to book speciality restaurants, to make our cruise truly fulfilled, so we are happy to pick up the crumbs. We do find that the Beach House can usually be booked if you visit the main desk while it's open, although not every day and not at anytime. The glass house similarly you can often find a table, but you do need to visit the restaurant rather than use the app. Similarly with the Olive Grove you can often find an available slot by visiting the main desk, and I understand that a visit to Epicurean or Sindhu can often find an available time slot, but personally I find them both very overrated. But I do think that the way the app booking system is currently being operated is grossly unfair, and in the end can only foster resentment on those who either don't know how the system works, are not very computer savvy or have a very late check in time, and I don't mind stirring up the Hornets nest one little bit.
  23. I would be waterlogged with much less than a quarter of those adult drinks.
  24. But does that actually cause water to spill over onto the balconies. The collection scoop has a wide opening at the top, and kids or adults would need to throw the water quite a distance to get it over the scoop. However there us a constant flow of water out of the bottom of the infinity glass front, which does tend to hit the back wall of the scoop and create splashing, but even this would need to be very severe to splash over the back of the scoop.
  25. I can take or leave food photos, but they do appeal to many, so I accept them. If we all thought and felt the same how boring would that be.
