  1. The cabin steward will make up the sofa bed each evening, and reset it to a sofa each morning.
  2. I seem remember the F&B manager at one Baltic luncheon saying that freedom dining enabled them to get almost 3 full covers in the MDRs as compared with only 2 with club dining.
  3. We have also cruised with P&O for years using freedom dining, and can count on one hand the number of occasions we have faced a major queue pre the My Holiday app, and that app is the only difference, other than the size of the ship.
  4. You can also add Princess to the list of cruise line that let's you make pre cruise bookings against On Board Credit.
  5. Town centre restaurants do not set themselves up to cater for the numbers on a cruise ship, so it's not sensible to compare turning up and expecting a table to be available with cruise ship expectations. The question we should be asking is do the new bigger ships have adequate MDR capacity to realistically be able to satisfy the average demand every night.
  6. Attrition will have reduced the numbers of hard core traditionalists, and increased the numbers of those who are more tolerant.
  7. Are there available HDMI sockets on the TVs, I looked but could not see one.
  8. We all know why Freedom dining is not working, and possibly even P&O know. However the My Holiday app, and its virtual queue facility, clearly does not function efficiently, and with P&Os flawed IT dept, I guess management seem willing to try out any cockeyed system in the vain hope it might improve things, knowing their IT dept will never sort out the My holiday app this side of the next century.
  9. It should have been better, since the lower level has more covers than the upper tier.
  10. We managed to book a 35 night cruise on board on 1st Nov for only £50pp deposit, however it was during the brochure launch so that might have been a special deal at the time.
  11. Don't worry about your boarding time, the coach trumps all the times and you should go straight into the terminal once you are off the coach.
  12. I had to unload my luggage and take it to the correct hole in the wall for pur Proncess cruise on Julu but that was the taxi drop off not the CPS one.
  13. But is that exclusively for booking on board, or is everyone getting extra OBC?
  14. Presumably the SNP are wanting to get you used to the even higher taxes they will need when they gain independence.😉😇
  15. You mean it takes many years for P&Os IT dept, NOT to be able resolve many issues.
  16. However even more puzzling is the comment on the website that seems to imply that you can upgrade your old plus by paying the extra. If correct $50 plus passengers will need a spreadsheet to work out if it is worthwhile paying the $70 extra for a week, which will be $140 for a couple.
  17. Only on Southampton sailings for the welcome onboard lunch, but I think the loyalty lunches take place for Caribbean lunches, they certainly do for roundtrip Sputhampton Caribbean cruises. As for coach passengers, the welcome on board lunch continue until 3:00 pm.
  18. Loyalty lunch is a reward for top tier (Caribbean and above) Peninsular passengers, welcome aboard lunch also for these passengers as well as suite guests.
  19. We have early boarding but never had a long wait with P4C, there are usually 3 staff available to do the check in and taking the car photos, and rarely more than 1 or at most 2 cars ahead of us.
  20. If P&O don't teach the AI bot some customer service manners, they could soon find their ships only have AI passengers.
  21. Thanks for that info, I have been wondering if I should try this route, and your post is most useful. As regards the account, what strings if any are attached, do you have to maintain a certain deposit, or have a minimum usage rate?
  22. It's like climbing Snowden, it's there so it has to be done.😉
  23. I thought Meritoan had polished wood tables, whilst Zenith just had plain old formica?
