  1. Disembarkation day is similar to Southampton, in that you leave your main luggage outside the cabin the night before and the next time you see it is on the carousel at your home airport. You will need to vacate your cabin at 8:00am, but you can pay for a day cabin if you want. You will be advised of where you can safely leave your hand luggage, and you can go ashore and return for lunch if you want, you also have use of all the ships facilities until your coach to the airport about 2-3 hours before your flight, and any known flight delays will be factored into this.
  2. If it worked on ships up to 3600 capacity, and yet is not working on the Excel class at 5200+, then presumably that must be because the MDRs do not have enough seating. It would be very interesting to know the MDR capacity on the super Grand class, Royal class and on Iona and Arvia. Only then could we know if the problem is with relative dining capacity, the My holiday app, the way the app is being operated, eg pre booking, walk ups being allowed, lack of staff or poor management of staff.
  3. You need to check out the regulations re children on plane journeys, I understand that at least one parent has to be seated with them, so that might save you some money
  4. Also ours, and if P&O were to freshen up the cabins and install new much bigger TVs, we would be very happy to cruise on her again.
  5. Mostly CPS do move the cars, but still store them within the port confines. However I guess that in the winter season when there are fewer ships using Southampton, it is likely that they can manage with just the terminal car parks, especially if it's only a 7 day or less cruise.
  6. I used a Facit, Swedish handcranked calculator in one of my early jobs, and became quite fast using it. However by the late 60s desk top electronic calculators were taking over, anyone remember ANITA, soon followed by handheld devices.
  7. I would imagine every medium to large company in the country has lots of internal documents that they don't want their customers or rivals to see.
  8. We were faced with a similar situation and given Airmid as the app to use, but I could never remember my password, however I did find a new link to systmonline from my surgery's website under "repeat prescriptions" and it still works, maybe you could checkout your surgery website.
  9. It seems ABTA set the criteria so maybe its them we should be asking.
  10. There's none so blind as those who will not see, David. I imagine one of the places they use as a long term parking area is near Mayflower, there is a massive parking area adjacent to where the CPS pick up point for Mayflower is located.
  11. I assume you should be able to use a pc, laptop or tablet to order your prescriptions, if you dont have a smart phone.
  12. Are you sure you're not thinking about Azura or Ventura, or even Btritannia, although I have no idea if her de luxe balcony cabins have 2 TVs?
  13. Whilst on our cruise Sky was not visibly suffering from long MDR queues, it was certainly failing to meet passengers booked times regularly enough, and as I gave up on the bookings after the first day we found that the non booked queue was always shorter and moved faster than the booked one. We also noticed that the tables were not being turned around very rapidly, and the wait staff seemed quite harassed, and the experience was certainly far less slick than pre covid.
  14. I don't think that a specific table is allocated to the Dine my way bookings, so I assume they HOPE that a table will be available, which for 2 tops will be fairly easy, however 4 tops are likely to be a problem as there are less of them. However I do agree with you that any pre booking does prevent the MDR from maximising the throughput when offering freedom dining. Which is why I firmly believe that the virtual queue system is the best way to offer freedom dining and maximise throughput, HOWEVER this will never be achieved while P&O continue to allow ad hoc variations to operate.
  15. I always found that we were well looked after on Princess flight packages. After a Caribbean cruise we were always taken to a hotel for lunch and then could either use the hotel facilities till we were coached to the airport, or taken to a nearby shopping mall for some last minute shopping, and the airport drop off was never excessively early.
  16. I check that we are moving by looking over the side at the ship slicing through the waves, then check the speed from the navigation channel on the TV.
  17. Moley recently commented that they have to do a full muster periodically, in order to check that the crew know their drill.
  18. We still have the rain, don't think we have seen the sun at all today, only lots and lots of thunder clouds.
  19. ....and P&O regularly confuse them, which can make the itinerary map interesting.
  20. There was no way to do that, there was a large box fitted to the back of the TV, with sealed connection cables, that presumably provided all the cabin TV facilities, but no way I could see to disconnect any even if I knew what it was I was disconnecting.
  21. The MDRs on both Celebrity and P&O are open for passengers to enter until 9:30, so there must be some passengers who dine later your estimate, otherwise the dining times would have adjusted long ago.
  22. The accessible cabin TVs on Iona are hinged so they can be pivoted to provide a better viewing angle when you have the twin bed set up. I looked on the back but could not see any free sockets.
  23. I still consider that freedom dining should enable the cruise line to provide more covers than 2 sitting fixed dining, but of course they do need to have adequate staffing, and they do need to be well managed. I remember now that the discussion I had with a food and beverage manager was actually on Celebrity Eclipse at the CC welcome party, and I admit that the way they manage restaurant staff is possibly why he felt they were able to achieve almost 3 times the covers in their freedom dining. From the assistant Maitre D, through the head waiters, and down to the waiters and assistants, they all got stuck into clearing finished tables and turning them round in no time at all, and with an expected 90 minutes max dining time 3 times covers is achievable.
