  1. Meh--just one more thing to pack...plus I drink it fast enough it doesn't get cold😂
  2. I have walked off with my coffee in Hawaii, Caribbean, AK & MX Riviera
  3. I make baggies of trail mix...never had an issue. YMMV
  4. It doesn't seem to matter what ship I'm on, CC just doesn't play well--NO idea why. Sailing Quantum of Seas to AK in Sept comped. I wasn't going to get internet for $140...figured I'd just get data in port. But BFF is going now...perhaps we will share a plan.
  5. Interesting...wonder why it would be different on different ships? Perhaps a newer larger ship requires more points? (assuming free cruise is on the same ship)
  6. Yes! I particularly loved my deck 8 balcony..right out the door to Syd’s!
  7. Yep. B2B last August on Getaway. Bid min (or $5 more...) Got it both weeks. Remember: there are more balconies than any other cabin type on every ship. Unless I think a ship will be full, this is what we do: book interior & bid on balcony!
  8. Have done 8 Celebrity cruises in last 10 years. Still my #1--especially E class. Did Getaway in 2018 & loved it. Again in August--still loved it. Waterfront should be on ALL ships (as should Syd Normans...🤣) Encore in Dec...meh, not so much. Service was suffering (labor shortage or cuts in labor? not sure) Food not as good, even in specialty dining. First cruise ever we did not find a number of crew members that we connected with. Also Cavern Club is nowhere as good as Syd's band--didn't realize how much THAT made the cruise. Have Breakaway booked in Aug to Med (incredible deal booked during COVID) & poker cruise on Joy in Nov that I won. Not super inclined to book them again. I do feel their production shows are far better than Celebrity S & M class ships. But Eclass productions are some of the best at sea, imo. I used to think NCL was cheaper. It sometimes is--and that might be a reason to book, as long as expectations are there that it is a step down in some regards. NOW--NCL does SOLO MUCH better than Celebrity...
  9. I've found CC to be a struggle to post on when on a ship, typically. Thus why I usually do a TR after as opposed to Live (NOT because I get too wrapped up in my cruise...) Enjoying your TR...haven't been on NCL thread as much...other lines distracting me! But have Breakaway in Aug to Med & Joy in Nov (poker cruise) so back again! Have fun!
  10. 1500 points=10% off 5000 points= free cruise This was announced MANY times on my Feb. Divina cruise & also showed up on the screen on the machines.
  11. I take a curlling iron &/or straight iron on EVERY cruise (25+ under my belt) Yeah, I've all but given up taking my Dyson wrap on a cruise (the one time I REALLY want to use it. It is very hit or miss whether it will work. Even the same room--works one day, not another. No idea.
  12. The pepperoni pizza thing IS weird. We had 4 kinds/day--ALWAYS pepperoni & margherita, & the other 2 rotated. Have they had the charcoal crust? I should have, but it was off-putting! Don't really get that...
  13. I tried it on Getaway. It was ok. And I LOVE French food
  14. You would think. I’m from Nebraska so beef snob. I get seafood at both places but DH felt his seafood at Cagneys was vastly better than Ocean Blue on Encore!
  15. On Getaway I liked Ocean Blue better. On Encore I liked Cagney's better. Any thoughts on which is better on Breakaway? Thanks!
  16. HECK of a deal on June 2 NCL Getaway TA Orlando-Lisbon, 12 nights $480 INT $729 OV $949 BALC (all cheaper than solo cabin, lol) If you have or can snag a Cruise Next certificate you can take $250 off ($125 net) (you can buy them from others on another well known site) Love Syd Norman's & the Waterfront on that ship! And those newer ships rarely have cheap solo rates. Wish I could go...but I get back from 4 weeks in Europe May 29th...DH balked at another 2 weeks 2 days later. DANGIT
  17. That first day it seems a lot of passengers don't realize what a great show it is...those lines seemed to grow as the week progressed.
  18. 100% agree--I have learned so much here that has made my cruising easier & better. I have tried to pay it back by sharing what I learn. SYD NORMAN'S IS WORTH IT! (if you are into late 70s/80s pop/rock) On the Getaway we would sit at the end of the Whiskey Bar with a drink so we could see the doorway to Syds, about 90 min prior to showtime. As soon as one person/group got in line, we jumped in! If you can, scope out Syds earlier to determine where you want to sit. We preferred the stools facing the stage right behind the booths closest to the bar...great vantage point. (not sure that is exactly the same on Prima)
  19. in 25+ cruises over 20 years on 7 mainstream lines...never had a bad one. Had things we liked & disliked on every cruise, some cruises we LOVED, others liked. Now you know potential issues...you are now prepared to avoid them or deal with them. Have a great time!
  20. Enjoying your review @JamieLogical! We had a nice turn out for our solo cruiser meet up on Divina as well--ironically there was a couple where we ended up meeting & they enjoyed the conversation. I ended up hanging more with them than anyone that cruise! WHAT is it with green & orange carpet on MSC? No, it doesn't make or break a cruise. But seriously--Meriviglia was built in 2015, and green carpet was definitely NOT a thing! (Orange carpet wasn't a thing in 2011 when Divina was built either...) I get the feeling they got a close out deal....🤣
  21. We are scheduled to dock at 7AM. Plan to take the RCCL shuttle to the port. Is 9:45 too early to try to fly out? In FLL I'd never worry...but I have only flew into SEA & not out & have heard horror stories. I know you can use SEA Spot Saver to save time.
  22. We just wandered around town last Sept & would like to see more this year. Our ship excursions seem terribly overpriced & many already sold out 5 months ahead of time! Where the shuttle bus drops you--are there tour booths there? I just don't remember! Thanks!
  23. I did 1st AK cruise last Sept after 20+ Caribbean cruises. I wore layers both on & off the ship. If head to the Lido deck perhaps to grab a meal or a snack at the buffet, you may go outdoors & will be glad for the layers. Though our embarkation day was very pleasant--some even hit the pool. Since you are sailing in June, it may be even nicer. But layers are key--you just never know. BTW, AK cruises are more casual than in the Caribbean. Most stay in their athletic gear from the day for dinner.
  24. OK it is $142 to purchase online...$164 via RCCL. On the White Pass website it says: "For passengers arriving via cruise ship, this tour is available from your ship’s Shore Excursion Department. By booking through the cruise line, you will be able to take advantage of the dockside service and board the train on the pier alongside your ship." I do notice that there appear to be days already sold out this season. Obvious advantages to booking via cruise ship--if they sell out you are golden; if the ship doesn't stop, you get a refund. Worth the $22 extra to book ahead?
