    Yes cruise solo all the time - have always felt safe on excursions.

    They do sell swim covers on Amazon - unfortunately I know from experience.

    I have always used a PVP but sure could do myself. When Covid happened and I had 5 cruises cancel, my PVP got everything moved and credited really quickly while I was seeing folks talk about being on hold for hours.

    For cost purposes I always stay at a hotel that is considered an "Airport Hotel". In Miami I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, MIA. They also offered a shuttle to the port for about $10
