  1. My oral surgeon called me at 8:15 PM last night to check on me . He told me to call him if I experienced a problem. That was a nice gesture . I woke up this morning at 4:00 thinking of The Marathon Man .
  2. @Sea Dog I hope you get some rest tonight. A big thank you to all the caregivers on Dani’s thread. I don’t think they get enough recognition.
  3. Thank you , Maryann ! Hurting but oxycodone is helping. That was quite the experience of drilling and hammering going on to insert the pin . It was all pain free due to 3 injections of novacaine . It’s over so grateful for that . The oral surgeon is so nice and that helped a lot.
  4. How wonderful for you to be spending the holiday doing something special. We enjoyed Lisbon and you will also .
  5. Lenny , I hope your daughter is at home and doing well. It is going to be 84° here , today , with no snow in sight . That’s why people want to live here. No trick or treaters last night . We have a huge bowl of Snickers left over. Our church is collecting left over candy for the less fortunate in Mexico which is not that far south. A visit to the oral surgeon is on the agenda for today . The bone graft is complete . Now comes the abutment and tooth implant. Not a fan of getting this done .
  6. You may know already that RCI has panorama cabins with floor to ceiling windows with easy chairs and a small table facing out . The windows don’t open and I don’t remember the window coverings . The cabins are larger . I think we were on the Serenade. Celebrity is definitely a nicer cabin .
  7. I have not heard of the device delivered to you today . My SIL had some medical device strapped to her knee that exercised her knee . Is that it ? We own a Cubii and never use it . That’s the bike with only the pedals .
  8. When I read IV it reminded me that you take something called liquid IV on cruises and somebody pointed out there’s salt in that product. My husband was instructed to drink a quart of Gatorade a day for two weeks after both knee surgeries. There must salt in that , too . I’m not qualified to give medical anything but do consult pros . Hopefully, you’ll have an easier time with your 2nd and last knee .
  9. Dani , thinking of you always . Stay safe and know you are in our prayers. Looks like gratuities are going up again . I looked at my statement from my last cruise and I noticed they had not applied my OBC . My TA called and she was told it had fallen through the cracks ( ?) . Cruising is starting to lose its appeal.
  10. My better half at the Nixon library. Is that a smile or a smirk ? We’ve also visited the Reagan , JFK , Lyndon Johnson libraries and Hyde Park . I agree with your comment.
  11. @Sea Dog Thank you for taking us along ! Great review as always with so much attention to detail. It is like we were there with you . Well almost ! If only we could have reached inside our computers and grabbed one of those drinks. Good luck with your knee surgery on Friday. Go in with a positive attitude. All the best to you !
  12. @dani negreanu Rockets hitting an apartment in Tel Aviv . So worried about you and your family. I can’t imagine what it is like for you and your country.
  13. Lobster bisque, I ordered a lobster one evening for dinner in the MDR and the server brought out a lobster without the claws . So where are the claws ? He told us they make bisque with the claws . The next evening I had a lobster with all of its appendages intact.
  14. I certainly envy you being so close to such great tennis matches. I remember watching on TV the bye gone days of riveting matches between Martina and Chris. I saw Chris Evert play in person at La Costa when she was Mrs Lloyd . Martina has been on fce bk lately because of her birthday . They’ve both faced the same adversary , the big C , recently and have come away triumphant.
  15. @bobmacliberty 18 hours ago, NHProud said: If you’re going to Grand Central station look at the Oyster bar menu . There are other things on the menu besides oysters. I used to visit annually in Feb and never had a problem with the weather. Is that the "hidden" bar that's upstairs? We'll be looking for that bar. It is the restaurant on the lower level of Grand Central station. Another restaurant you might like is Tavern on the Green My SIL enjoyed it . My friend spent 10 days in The City and walked 77 miles . Not for me for sure . You like to walk . Are you up to the challenge?

  17. I’m not going to ignore your questions. The comments were made on two social platforms most of us frequent by a beloved by all and compassionate person . Probably clueless they were going to be hurtful. I hope , X sees this and stops with the negativity.
  18. @Sea Dog It is absolutely refreshing to witness your enthusiasm on this seafaring journey.
  19. Were you greeted by a bagpiper ? On the Queen Mary 2 , he played on arrival and departure. The land trip to Nova Scotia was with a friend . We were disappointed that our excursion to see some puffins was canceled due to weather. We have kept the puffin thing going since 1995 . She sent me a puffin tote bag for my birthday.
  20. I really do not want to drag this out . I’m French-Canadian American. My family is from Trois Rivières. Reason why ? Didn’t know my family comes from French Canada. You would have to ask that person why slam French Canadians ?
