  1. I will never go to the spa again on Seabourn. The push to buy products after my massage was so intense that the relaxation received was completely gone by the time the ordeal was over. I wish they wouldn't do that, but if they make a commission then I can see why.
  2. I was addressing that comment to a particular poster whose posts have since been deleted. You can venture a guess as to why. I have been truly blessed with so much that yes, I am charitable. And yet, it is probably still too little.
  3. I saw this morning on the news Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have suspended Red Sea shipping for the time being.
  4. No. You can have two checked suitcases that are the same size as the major airlines' mandates.
  5. No - not necessary. Sunglasses - YES. Some people did wear ski goggles though. If that is what you would prefer - that would be fine.
  6. I found a pair of long silky knit underwear, a pair of pants, and then the waterproof pants worked great. There may be times when you want to remove the outer layer in the gear-up room before going about your business on the ship, so having on a pair of pants underneath (not just long johns) is a good idea. We did all of the longer hikes on shore, and always came back to the ship kind of sweaty.
  7. On especially early wake-up days, we have even written a time on the door hanger if we require breakfast earlier than any of the times listed. We always got it at the time requested. We wouldn't do this everyday, but they prepare breakfast for some of the crew really early, so I don't think it is putting anyone out.
  8. Thank goodness. I'm tired of defending myself.
  9. My humor is sophisticated and droll. I don't expect everyone to understand. See - that was a joke.
  10. May I remind you, it was me who was defending you on another thread about the missed ports on the Grandeur cruise? So, no I do not always cheerlead for Regent.
  11. OMG - You guys are taking this way too seriously. It was a joke - he said everything was tasteless, thus my comment about taste. That is why I said I should have put in an emoji, so everyone could understand. Gosh, laugh, love live. I do have to wonder how someone who has been on 30 main line cruises (at one time he had them listed), couldn't find one meal he liked on a luxury liner. Doesn't anyone find this odd? I actually started to wonderful if it was a troll. Oh wait, was that judgey?
  12. I had all the information I needed. Thanks.
  13. I'm not quick to judge, as I read the posters words very closely. He thought everything on the Explorer was tasteless, thus my comment. I do not use emojis, and so my sharp wit is sometimes lost on others.
  14. I know which cruise lines you enjoy because you have them listed under your signature. If you see my response as snarky, maybe "ye doth protest too much." I found my response to be totally necessary.
  15. Hahaha - very funny. She always was my favorite character on that show.
  16. It looks like you really enjoy the main lines (Holland, Princess, RCL), maybe the luxury lines just aren't to your taste.
  17. I think that is a holdover from the Covid days, as I've seen it in other places too. Hopefully, when they run out of their stockpile of paper/plastic they will return to glassware.
  18. Usually there is a Regent rep standing with the longshoremen. They have an up to date list of cabin assignments for people who don't have their tags (for whatever reason), and can tag them then.
  19. It's 9:18AM. If in port, I would be on a tour. If at sea, at would be in the Observation Lounge with a good book and an Irish Coffee from Seabourn Square. (Yes, at 9:15AM.)
  20. I've got a great idea. Everyone who keeps telling the OP to donate their jackets should cancel their next luxury cruise and donate the cost of said cruise to the homeless. That would be SO nice.
  21. We have been on Regent for Christmas. They didn't have any Christmas decorations on each individual table. There may have been a Christmas-y centerpiece on the large Captains table. There really isn't any room for a centerpiece on the smaller tables, other than a small bud vase.
  22. The Parka's were not in the room last year. I believe it was the at sea day (the day after embarkation) that we went and picked up our parka's. They may do it differently now, but I don't think so. We had the first flight out of Buenos Aires down to Ushuaia, and had to get up at 3:30AM to have a quick breakfast before departing for the airport from the hotel. By the time we got to Ushuaia, everybody was pretty tired, and just wanted some champagne, lunch and relaxation. Also, it was very chilly and damp.
