  1. Currently on the Majestic out from Australia, masks are compulsory in all indoor areas except staterooms, masks obviously not required when dining/drinking, guests are asked to sip and replace mask when drinking in the theatre. In outdoor areas masks not required unless unable to keep a safe distance. It’s quite amusing to see masks being worn around necks, under noses and being left on tables whilst guests eat their meals. Masks are also required on all Princess Excursions whilst in vehicles. Don’t let the use of masks put you off cruising at this time, I’m on my 6th cruise since September and have not found it an issue, currently Covid positive but ready for another 2 cruises next month, beats staying at home!
  2. On the Majestic currently and Covid positive, information given states that they advise you to refrain from smoking to prevent worsening of symptoms. You may smoke on your balcony with balcony door closed, room steward will provide ashtray on request.
  3. It seems that people are having totally different experiences whilst being Covid positive onboard. Currently on Majestic Princess in NZ, yesterday tested Covid Positive but husband negative. I must say we have been well looked after, completed medical forms, phone consult with doctor and antivirals commenced. We were given information on what to expect during quarantine from smoking on balcony (if smoker) to getting clean linen. We have been ordering room service from the main dining room menu, bottled water supplied, meals have arrived on time and hot. I was given the option of moving to a quarantine stateroom which I declined. I’m really sorry for those that are having a different experience from mine, my thoughts and best wishes to you for a swift recovery.
  4. Thank you so much, really appreciate you taking the time to find this information. I knew I had seen it somewhere.
  5. Thank you, I’m very surprised at the amount either not wearing masks or wearing them incorrectly. Enjoy your day out today!
  6. Thanks for the best wishes. I was offered a quarantine cabin away from my husband but declined the offer, we have a nice balcony so happy to remain here. We have been given menus for the days meals with options same as the dining room, breakfast and lunch arrived on time, tasty and hot. I’ve been given some forms to fill in from the medical centre, appears that all medications and antivirals are now being charged, not sure of the cost. I’m pretty sure when I booked Princess stated that antivirals and other Covid related treatments were provided by Princess, can anyone confirm this or have they changed their policy? Thanks.
  7. Currently on Majestic Princess 13 day NZ cruise, not feeling the best and just tested positive. Guess I’ll wait until the Medical Centre opens to inform them, will need Anti Virals. Glad we have a balcony cabin.
  8. Hi, we are on the same cruise! We are doing the South Pacific cruise prior to this one as well. Difficult to ascertain what the Health requirements will be, Tasmania over the weekend announced that all cruise ship passengers were required to have a RAT before disembarking in Tasmanian ports! The Spirit of Tasmania ferry from the mainland brings thousands of passengers across every week, yet cruise passengers that had to test negative prior to embarking are targeted!
  9. Hi, sounds like a great day. Please can you explain the procedure for the RAT tests, who and where they were conducted and if it delayed disembarking the ship. Many thanks, we have 2 Tasmania cruises BTB on the Majestic from Saturday, I’ve booked a private excursion and worried I’ll be delayed. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  10. Great decision! Think we are on that cruise, beautiful food and terrific itinerary.
  11. They took it off my card I had registered, did not deduct it from my OBC.
  12. We were on board in September, we had a wonderful couple celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on our table, Hector came to the table turned their chairs around and sung two beautiful love songs for them! A precious moment we felt privileged to share, this couple were in their mid 90’s and so much fun, they told us that their children were concerned that they are still cruising at their age; the lovely lady said if they die on a cruise they die doing something they love. A great attitude!
  13. Hi Margo, you must be looking forward to your trip! January is school holiday time so prepare for the possibility of lots of children on board, this may not be an issue for you. I would suggest definitely Princess over P&O, I found the food far superior on Princess, the only extras you pay for are the specialty restaurants whilst on P&O you pay extra for room service and other food options outside of the main dining room and buffet. We recently spent 26 days on Coral Princess and can highly recommend her, loved the private Sanctuary on the rear of deck 14! A few years ago we did a segment of a World Cruise on UK P&O, a completely difference experience to AUS P&O. Whatever you decide have a wonderful trip, it’s so great to be travelling again!
  14. Was amazed at the amount of people that put their masks on the table whilst eating, staff didn’t even have time to wipe tables down between diners, yuk!
  15. Good decision! The food is so much better on Princess than P and O, overall a much better cruising experience. Loved the Sanctuary on the Coral, my favourite place!
  16. Thanks for responding to my post, I better get busy and start filling out forms!
  17. Hi, after some general advise thanks! I decided to purchase the 100 Carnival shares to get the OBC. I set up a Share Trading Account with Westpac, tried to buy the Shares this morning however can only buy AUS shares. I contacted Westpac and apparently have to fill out more forms to trade US markets, send them in and wait, everyone else seems to be doing it a lot quicker and easier! Am I missing something here? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  18. Welcome back! Thank you so much for your cruise commentary, we were on the Coral last month and missing her! You may have just started an expensive addiction, so easy to become addicted to cruising!
  19. Leaving Sydney last night from the Sydney Harbour Web Cam and Coral Princess Bridge web cam, the weather is certainly improving. I have family on board on their first cruise, apparently young children in cabin on either side of them jumping around and screaming for hours kept them awake, staff were pretty quick to move them when they mentioned it, that’s great service.
  20. Majestic Princess NZ 13 days 25th November $1070 for inside guarantee. We are on the two previous cruises in a balcony, just maybe they may leave us there! We have never had an inside but at that price was a steal!
