  1. That's my whole point - I have a slightly more educated and informed data set with which I make my guess at what RCI might do with Voom speeds after a Starlink install. Biker, who does speak with Voom knowledgeable staff on every cruise and does read every Voom related thread/post.
  2. The flier editor is back at work, but it's one of the shortest fliers I can remember.
  3. Wait till late January - by that time the menu should be settled and be just about the same fleetwide. Set the app to any of the 7-8 day Enchantment sailings after that and you should have a good idea of what to expect in May.
  4. The Genie will be in touch and tell you that at least a week out.
  5. Can you link to any post which mentions a Starlink equipped ship which has completed its installation more than two months ago which has a higher than "normal" speed limit? Do you routinely discuss Voom installation progress with knowledgeable staff on your cruises? Do you read every Voom related post here at CC to see the trend?
  6. There's no need to bid when it opens - win decisions are rarely taken more than 30 days out.
  7. Look at a close in Western itinerary in the app - it should list the shows/times.
  8. Surf is enough, but Surf seems to be missing from the planner fleetwide, though it may be available (for more than Stream pre cruise) on board.
  9. Again, the cruise line has refundable rates. What some TA's provide (and the cruise line doesn't) in addition to that option is a group rate (on some cabin categories) which is refundable and may be lower than even the NRD rate. All this excludes suites.
  10. Other than when testing (and it happened also when O3B was introduced), RCI has always limited the speed on their ships, that’s not hypothesis. Most reporting suggests that once testing of the installation is complete, ships go back to their pre -Starlink speed limits. Again, not hypothesis. It could be that RCI may rethink the level of the limit, but the chances that it will stay at current numbers your are seeing are very low. Curious, do you ask for an explanation of your home ISP why they limit their speeds?
  11. Download/upload speed has always been limited, the only thing that changed slightly over the years is that limit. Sat based internet shared by 3-10k people has to be managed somehow.
  12. You would not have access to the CL before this change either - for many/most ships and sailings, this announcement made/makes no difference.
  13. The chances of RCI giving them OBC are even less than getting the cabin for the same price. A lot of things could happen, but based on previous reporting/experiences most posters provide the most likely outcome.
  14. That part has been true ever since NRD rates were introduced several years ago.
  15. RCI does offer, usually at a higher cost, refundable rates.
  16. Read the second sentence of the OP real slow. As of now all they have is a cabin for three, and, no, they won’t get a cabin for four for the same price. Of course, there’s likely at least two more sides to this story.
  17. Welcome to CC and coming out of a very long lurk mode. Don't count on that speed advantage for long.
  18. That changed this past summer so that if you cancel you lose your entire deposit - you need to move it to another sailing to only incur the $100/pp penalty.
  19. Like a lot of purchases, value is in the eye of the beholder.
  20. Enforcement of check in time varies by staff, date, time of day, ship, port, etc. As for boarding, that should still be a perk in that if boarding has not started and you are in a waiting room ("regular boarding process"), you should board ahead of D and lower C&A status customers (unless they have Key or in a suite) once boarding does start.
