  1. Im getting confused (easy I know!) Could someone on Quest populate this for us - it should all be in the Welcome booklet Captain Staff Captain Hotel Director Cruise Director Assistant CD Guest Relations Manager F & B Manager Executive Chef
  2. No, only offer transfers from the airport on embarkation day. You need to use a private firm - WelcomePickups are excellent in Athens
  3. Sounds like embarkation was a mess. Hope you get the reservations you want but with a TA there is a lot of opportunity Fingers crossed for you
  4. In my experience the OBC will be deducted equally over the 4 unless you instruct Azamara otherwise. If you book online you will need to do two shorex excursions booking one for the lead on each account Speciality yes book on embarkation, only very rarely does every night sell out. If you can be flexible you will be fine. The sell outs tend to be sea days, prime C sells out before Aqualina if there is a high % US guests onboard, if there is a high % Europeans they often head for Aqualina, early seating sells out before late unless there are lots of Latin Americans onboard
  5. Interesting podcast that was shared on Facebook from Azamara. Maybe the technology in the long run will work - as they say it is "change or die" https://www.buzzsprout.com/2005886/12362736?fbclid=IwAR33AP0dILeXgVU_-JyY8Adm-83KySWRpaTRPnaw7D7nzV-fPVPqo2jHJ_0
  6. You will be fine. On disembarkation day b2b have separate systems- just let guest relations know a few days before but if you’ve come from the Schengen area in your previous port eg Spain, Portugal, another port in France there will be no border procedures at disembarkation/change over Your new key card is delivered to your room the night before or handed out at the back to back meeting if they are ready then together with a transit card for re boarding
  7. We cruise Mid May so will be testing anything for you!
  8. I so agree @Riocca which is why I am always so frustrated that Azamara oldco certainly did nothing when agents were letting them down and there is no evidence to date that has changed. Why oh why do they allow some many practices and misrepresentations from travel agents - are they too precious to touch??
  9. It is such a small sample we will never know but I wonder how many people who responded to the survey were those who travelled on Onward? First they had all the issues just after launch when the ship wasn't really guest or crew trained ready, it seemed to pick up but then from the transatlantic for a couple of months it dipped again. Like you in that second period our food was certainly not up to par and there were reports on a UK social media forum of several others having that view. Reading here it seems Onwards food is a better again, maybe personnel changed. But if there was a high % Azamara respondents from Onward and its less good months - and given some discounting that was going on for its fares last summer in the UK and it was doing ex UK sailings that is very possible - that might also have distorted the data. The other thing to bear in mind this survey is of UK guests, they may be looking for different things which could explain some of the reasons why some say never had a problem and others are saying different.
  10. You’re correct it’s a Mac thing. I have to use my iPad to see details. I have a booking and the same applies also for my shorex. As far as I can see there will be a good range of lecturers given the topics mentioned (though they’re not yet posted by cruise). I’m not sure about trivia I think you’ll need to wait for reports from early cruises on that one. However I know they’re trying to be “different” so it’s not going to be a clone of other lines activities. You can see that already in the shorex posted.
  11. No each cruise is separate for accounting purposes
  12. Fingers crossed the rest of your journey is smooth and when you step onboard all this pain is forgotten
  13. I have travelled very very regularly between Scotland and all parts of England and Wales for over 60 years (ignoring the years I didn’t handle money) and only once in probably 10000 transactions did a small corner shopkeeper (who also did not speak good English) decline to take a Scottish note. So let’s not worry people travelling to the UK about technical minutiae of what might happen in the extremely unlikely event they get an uneducated sales person. Bottom line notes either Bank of England, Northern Ireland or Scottish Bank issue are able to be used throughout the UK. (Ok I will be pedantic to prove the technically is an absolute irrelevance- Scottish issued notes are not legal tender in Scotland but they’ve managed no problem for over 200 years) Apple Pay is highly likely to be used in the vast majority of places. It’s as prevalent in the UK as the US where there are also still places you can’t use it
  14. Scottish notes are perfectly acceptable in England don’t confuse travellers with pedantic points. It does not help
  15. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to time them in a big galley. You can ask for a night in the future but be ready for the answer no
  16. Even though the ship arrives at 5 it’s unlikely they will start processing the disembarkation much before 7. You then leave at a time between then and just before 9 of your choosing. It’s a very civilised process and most cruise directors don’t even make repeated announcements. Your timing with Welcome Pickups is perfect. You can walk off around 8.10 and have no waiting around ashore Athens is flat. Your luggage is taken off for you overnight you only have carryons. So no hassle there
  17. Absolutely an issue and something I am amazed Azamara does nothing about - we are talking about major agencies and national newspaper ads as well as all over the travel agency facebook and website pages. Is there not a crib sheet for agents and also cant Azamara step in and highlight misrepresentations to the agencies and get adverts changed as its their product that is being misrepresented? It disappoints me that people who do not know how good a match Azamara might be for them and are new to cruising or looking to change cruise lines are going to be put off by this survey given how well respected Which is
  18. I agree, the trouble is first time cruisers in the UK are influenced by surveys and Which is a very trusted source. At least for the next year, the only way (hopefully) is up!
  19. Not sure you can see this, if not google it. Azamara have fallen from way up top to third bottom in a joint position with Costa Certainly not where they would want to be. Possibly paying the price for not keeping an eye on their UK market with a UK MD https://www.which.co.uk/reviews/cruise-lines/article/best-and-worst-cruise-lines-aXDfX7O9uJEz
  20. I would have been over the moon to see that! I’m over Mars with FT but anything extra terrestrial that removes that diabolical club tonic will make me very happy
  21. Did the invite mention RSVP to the concierge - in which case leave it there otherwise Guest Relations
  22. It is no problem saying no but you could also drop them a hand written note to explain, they will understand
  23. Good luck all over the place the word snow is popping back into the words of forecasters brrr
  24. I think the tonic was holding back a few people re upgrading. When we spoke with Iwan (f and b) and the Miami people who were onboard in November they said they wanted to look at it again. It’s lovely that this is one promise that looks like has moved to action and a positive result.
