  1. Yes, I'm sure they will. We just have to keep out of their way until it's done
  2. Great! We have to change cabins that day but will easily be able to amuse ourselves around the ship while that happens.
  3. Today we're in Cairns and having a relaxing day, just catching up with a friend for lunch. We had a full-on day yesterday at Airlie Beach. We did the Whitehaven Beach excursion which was great fun. Exhilarating rides there and back, glimpses of a couple of whales, and I think we saw most of the Whitsunday Islands as we whizzed by. Whitehaven beach is beautiful, super-fine white sand lapped by turquoise waters. It was also a very popular beach with dozens of boats, plus a helicopter and a seaplane, all visiting it for the day. We had a quick swim - the water was a bit on the cool side for me to stay in too long. The tour company provided a very nice boxed lunch which we enjoyed sitting on the beach. The only downside was during the last third of the trip there when one guy who had been sitting on the inflatable side decided he'd had enough of that and jammed himself on to the end of the side seat we were on. His friends moved up to let him on to the seat, so everyone else had to scrunch up. Unfortunately I was at the other end with nowhere to move to so ended up sitting in a very uncomfortable position until we reached the beach. My back felt a bit wonky last night but seems to be OK today. That's our RIB behind the seaplane. Looking right along the beach.
  4. If they send them Australia post who knows when they would turn up. I left something at a motel last year. The motel posted it, that day express post, to the place we were staying a few days later. It turned up there 8.5 months later. I'm waiting on another package that was ordered mid-July and is noted as having been picked up by Australia Post. It hadn't arrived by the time we boarded Coral last Saturday.
  5. It's on my list of drinks to try but I'm trying the Butterfly tonight.
  6. They're very talented. I like it best when they play their regional folk music. So lively!
  7. I can't see why the bus company couldn't liase with the ports authority to create a special bus route that only operates on days when ships are in port. Of course, they'd need to have two timetables - one for changeover days and one for port visits. Start somewhere central, Roma St Station perhaps, with a couple of CBD stops, then cut into Portside for people who used the ferry then onto the BICT. Or is that to logical to be conceivable? 🙄
  8. We are! We are! 😊 We've spent the afternoon in the Sanctuary enjoying the fresh air in relative peace and quiet, and comfort. Briefly had a glimpse of a whale going by. It's starting to cool off now so I guess it's time to go get gussied up for formal night.
  9. I'll see what I can do but probably not until the next sea day. We have the three port days in a row next so I mightn't have much time until after that. Remind me if I forget!
  10. There is plenty of other good entertainment around the ship too. There is a great piano and guitar duo from the Ukraine that play next to to the Good Spirits Bar 2-3 times a day. I think they just joined the ship this cruise.
  11. They're on at 7:30pm and 9:30pm now. We haven't actually managed to get to one yet but are planning to go tonight.
  12. I thought Diamond had Aussie outlets when we were on her in 2018. I can't remember exactly for our Golden cruise but, again, I have a feeling she had an Aussie socket. The only Princess ship I can remember using our EU adaptor was on Royal in the Med.
  13. The MDR meals have mostly been great so far. Huge main portion sizes though.
  14. Luckily we're usually having dinner when evening trivia is on. 🤣
  15. That's the one! Voice from Hell describes her perfectly. 🤣
  16. That's what I suspect. Grand will probably have Aussie outlets when she starts operating here. All they have to do is change the faceplates on the EU 220v circuits to AU.
  17. How many days were you onboard for? We're on for 19 days so wondering if we will have the same problem.
  18. No, we're in a mini-suite at the moment then change to a suite on the 13th.
  19. If it's like the Australian rules then it's a self test and you take a photo just in case. Check closer to your cruise though in case NZ requires something different.
