  1. Make sure to fill out the special needs form (now online) to let them know about your restrictions and needs. You can request wheelchair assistance for boarding, as a an example. This helps them to prepare for you.
  2. Well, if I ever came across a darlek, I would be nervous. If it's a run of the mill dalek, however, no worries. I always carry a can opener! 😉
  3. Seashore has a Top 19 Exclusive Solarium sun deck for Aurea guests with a dedicated bar and two whirlpools. Yes, you have the Manhattan Room as the private Aurea dining area. yo can go to other dining rooms, but the menu will be the same. You have anytime dining as an Aurea guest. They will ask you if you have a rough preference time, but that is for planning/estimating purposes. You are not held to any time or timing window.

    Fun Pass

If this is for your daughter on her honeymoon cruise, I really don't think they'll have much time outside of their room to enjoy the Fun Pass! Between the Sauna and all the YC offers, they'll be busy!🤭
  5. Haven't been on Carnival in a few years, but when we were on them, I recall that they did change times at least once on a Southern Caribbean cruise. May have been due to DST. At any rate, MSC does change times to match port local time. They don't care what Carnival does!😉
  6. Yes, there are large tables on Meraviglia, but I personally would not wait until the day. Make sure your group's booking numbers are all linked with each other, and if you are in a booking class above Bella, make sure everyone has picked the same dining time preference. You stand a better chance of MSC already assigning you a table together.
  7. Allowing for delays with clearing the ship and Customs and Immigration in getting off the ship, if you are checking bags at the airport, getting through TSA security, I would not get a flight before 11:30. There will be people that will tell you they got earlier flights, but I've always allowed for inevitable delays.
  8. I didn't say you were buying a house. I was responding to someone else. Enjoy your vacations.
  9. Similar to what we are doing for DW. On the overall points, I am just waiting for Dave @sidari to work his magic with his friends at MSC to get us put into the new, higher level that has been in planning by MSC's superb IT department (😉) for the last few years. I think the elite level is Cubic Zirconium, or pyrite.
  10. G: We do have it here, at least in the housing market with "earnest money," which is designed to protect the seller as you are pointing out. Honestly, I view my YC deposit as earnest money (at a very cheap rate!) that allows me to select a room I want very far out in the future. I just did it yesterday to make add a booking for 2024 to make it a B2B. I did it this far out because I wanted the same room for the added week, and it was available. I'm not sure if I will go through with keeping the reservation, but to me, for under $400 it was worth the peace of mind. That being said, thanks for the heads up! I'm going to the Dark Side of Europe for a holiday in June. I'll have to remember to leave a small deposit with the bartender when I order a pint of Guinness to make sure I don't cancel it before he's finished pouring it.😉
  11. It's not just Ireland. My DW can't log into her account for the same reason with the email validation snafu. We have to do a workaround on the booking side to check things like her activity and point totals. MCS IT problems do not pick on countries. They appear to be equal opportunity gremlins.
  12. Not for the YC Breakfast room service. As yo can see, it is fairly basic. For eggs, you need to got to the restaurant or the One Pool deck.
  13. We've done it at least once on our B2B's. Remember, YC breakfast service is fairly basic.
  14. I meant the room that was getting late croissants and coffee. They may have been doing a B2B so didn't have to be out of the room by 6:30.
  15. Possibly a room that had people doing a b2b. We've enjoyed the "late" breakfast when doing a b2b.

  17. The C in MSC does not stand for "Consistency." 😁
  18. Oh dear, David! I think you have just firmly placed yourself in the position of chair umpire at a tennis match! I can see the ball (comments) flying all over on both sides of the net. Well played, sir! Well played!
  19. We've only done YC in the last three years. There, room cleaning was done twice daily. I think that it is still twice a day for all rooms, at least on US sailings. The same rate is unusual, but so is MSC! They also do not recommend tipping individual staff, but I would wager that most of their staff prefer to get assigned to ships sailing out of US ports where tipping of individuals is a regular activity.
  20. Very similar to our impression last March! The port had just opened then, and was clearly a work in progress. However, we were struck by how clean and organized it was. It is almost as if the developers studied what was wrong with the layouts of Costa Maya and Grand Turk, and designed it for smooth traffic flow and use of bright open spaces. Sounds as if it has come a long way since that time. Looking forward to a return visit.
  21. With YC, there is no added charge on any drink you get. I have not figured out how to prepay the service charge. Just know that it will be $14.00/person/day. and budget accordingly. The service charge is the only additional charge, and is the same rate for YC as for all other classes of travel.
  22. While the shuttle price is $22, please consider taking a cab or ride service instead. The shuttle cost is per person, so $44 for two people. A taxi is under $30 for up to four people. For the shuttle, you may have to wait until the bus is full before you go. For the taxi, there is no wait.
  23. Make sure you get the names of outstanding employees' names. Make sure to put their names in the survey you will get an invitation to completed when you are back. Gives them a reward of some extra time off and the chance for department employee of the month (with a cash reward).
  24. Oh, to dream the impossible dream!🤭
