  1. For anyone interested in seeing just how much of a joke the Ireland site is, here’s a link. https://www.msccruises.ie/en-ie/Homepage.aspx We can’t even access cruise fares, which means having to contact MSC or a TA, which is fine if you have a specific cruise in mind, but not practicable for general cruise fare searches. There’s no point in even looking at other countries’ sites as fares (and promotions) differ across the regions. Back on topic, I think that the MSC infinity cabins are much more appealing than Celebrity’s (who did try to market them as balcony cabins, unlike MSC, as another poster has already pointed out).
  2. Delighted to read of your wonderful experience. We embark in Rome on Saturday - can’t wait!
  3. First night, DH had the fish cake. I gave him a taste of the KC. We both had it every night we dined there after that.
  4. I’ve had similar responses before when posting this which is why I added it on this forum. I loved the Korean chicken in Prime C so much that I had a second helping as a mains one night when I couldn’t face a full main meat course.
  5. I agree, totally. We’ve done 27 cruises and the only problem we have with the food onboard is we eat too much! I often order the mains fish as a starter (without sides) as I’m not an appetisers person. If there are sides included in a mains that appeal to me, but am not ordering, I’ll ask for them to be included with the dish I’ve chosen. Like you, I’m far from reticent when letting the server know what way I’d like my meal served. We had a wonderful waiter (Paulo) in Prime C almost every night we dined there; one night we had a different server. Paulo almost instructed the chef to alter a dish my husband had ordered when he saw it being prepared because he thought it was for me and knew the way I would prefer it done. However, he copped it was for DH when he saw what else had been ordered and knew that that one would be mine lol.
  6. I had a similar experience when ordering the lamb. The waiter asked if I’d like extra as the portion was small. I found the portion to be plenty for me. Same with the sides. We just ordered one each on the basis that we could order more if we wanted (which we never did!).
  7. No problem - just an observation. I’m aware that more can be ordered.
  8. On the subject of cuts - I had the Branzino in Aqualina one night. One fillet was offered. Spoke with our regular waiter in Prime C the following night. He told me it used to be 2 fillets served.
  9. I must remember to keep an eye out for those extra ‘Go Green’ points after our upcoming on Edge.
  10. I didn’t even have to sign up for Azamara’s loyalty club - I was automatically awarded the points I’ve accrued from X’s club.
  11. I agree. I was able to have the wines I preferred in all venues - including The Patio. The ones I stuck with were Honig and the Chilean merlot: NF was scarce and was replaced by Montaudon regularly. For us it was more enjoyable than NF.
  12. In fairness to her, she was playing to a regular audience that encouraged her to play the way she did. (Well, that was our observation any time we were there - which wasn’t often as a result!).
  13. It may have been more to do with the numbers of passengers onboard. I heard there were only 410 (haven’t done the math on the number from different nationalities so can’t confirm this).
  14. @federalexpress It turns out that Omerus was not included in the UP - one of the sommeliers okayed it for me to have early on in the cruise as I had asked for an alternative to the Sauvignon Blanc dessert wine on offer. (He always knew where I was dining as he would receive a call to verify that I wasn’t to be charged for it each time I ordered it).
  15. The Patio closed every day at 5pm on Journey. (Disembarked yesterday).
  16. Azamara is a much more sedate experience and, while we’re loving every moment onboard, it would be a while before we would look for this experience again. The crew are great, but we’ve always found them great on MSC, too. But, there’s no doubt, service is exceptional on Azamara and the food is of a much higher standard than YC.
  17. I’ve posted the wine menu in the following thread, in post #19: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2871691-photo-of-wines-and-champagne-available-for-purchase/#comment-63717519
  18. I figured this warranted a thread of its own, rather than be buried in other threads. Each item has the letter p (premium package inclusions), u (ultimate) or no letter (not included) next to each drink. The items on the Atlas bar menu are only included in the Ultimate package. The complimentary drinks are in photos #6 + #7.
  19. I will post what I’ve got for now. You can let me know if they’re not legible enough.
  20. You may be pleased to hear that Oremus (dessert wine) is also included. I had it in Windows at lunch. I very much enjoyed it. Nicer than the SB, but still not as sickly sweet as Sauternes. Even DH enjoyed a glass (and he’d never normally touch the stuff). I had the Wairau River SB (I’m assuming - I didn’t see the bottle; just asked for an SB) today, also. I found it better than the Chardonnay. I’ll try the Pino Grigio next.
  21. Our friend ordered the Pinot Noir that was listed on the menu but was told it wasn’t available, so it was substituted with another. I wasn’t paying too much attention as we stuck with the champagne last night., so didn’t see what it was. (This was in Prime C). I want to try the PN so I’ll report back when I do. The following is the Merlot I had yesterday in The Patio: Here’s a photo of the wines by the glass, but it would seem that some of the brands are being switched (the Merlot and PN, anyway, so far, according to our experience) Whispering Angel is available (for those who wish to know).
  22. Post #1162 was in response to your question. I meant to quote you when replying. 🙄
  23. Our friends are in a P1. They only received 2 bottles.
  24. Thanks - I only noticed the QR code on the daily planner today after reading your previous post. 🙄👍
