  1. If you let your servers know when you arrive (or better yet, the night before) that you are planning on going to a show at a particular time, they will make sure you have time to get to the show. So that is something you should mention to them. Regarding the person with special needs, you might want to email Carnival’s special needs department to discuss any particular concerns you may have. They may also be able to guarantee you get a table just for your group, if that is what you want. Their address is access@carnival.com
  2. How do you link the dining yourself? To answer the OPs questions: 1. You may be seated with other parties. Of the 4 cruises we’ve sat with other people, 2 times it was a pleasure, and made the cruise better. The other two times it was neutral. It didn’t add anything to the cruise, but didn’t hurt either. 2. They will wait for a bit for all to show to take orders, but you can ask to start if the other group(s) are late. It is polite to let the servers, and other table mates know, if you you plan to not be there on a certain night. 3. On embarkation day, you can ask to have a table of just your party. They will accommodate if space allows, but it may not be until the 2nd night.
  3. We’ve only sailed Fantasy class and Spirit class, but next summer we’ll be on the Vista and Conquest classes. Comparing Fantasy and spirit classes: Spirit wins easily. Pool with the sliding roof, dive in movie, guys, blue iguana, bigger comedy club, better camp ocean space, Looking forward to comparing our next two classes. For some reason I’ve always (well, since 2014) wanted to try the Dream class, just hasn’t worked out yet.
  4. IMO, $100 is worth the convenience and piece of mind to park at the port. Even if it’s crazy to drop off luggage and then get to the garage, parking offsite and taking a shuttle is even more annoying (again, IMO). It’s vacation, you don’t want to ruin it by either something happening with your car, or worrying about something happening to your car.
  5. Are you looking at the one on 18th? We're deciding between that, the Hyatt next door, as well as comfort suites nearby. There's a sprouts farmers market a few blocks away that has wine. You can even look online to see what they sell. Also lots of restaurants across the street.
  6. Yes, I believe that was the point. Insurance against the unexpected with a high expense makes financial sense. But, self insuring for low cost expenses you can easily absorb also makes financial sense.
  7. I agree, that is too long. 45 min in and out should be about right for breakfast. What you had is significantly more than that.
  8. Sorry... it was an attempt at humor... 8 pieces of calamari... 8 legs.....
  9. We had an erroneous charge once. It was for a drink at a bar that was charged to us a minute after the drinks we did purchase. Apparently, the bar tender charged us for the next group's drinks. Guest services grumbled a bit, but they did reverse it after about a 5 minute conversation.
  10. Even breakfasts could easily take 45 min. 5 minutes to look at menu, 5 minutes to order, 10 min to prepare food (minimum for anything cooked to order), 20 minutes to eat and head out.
  11. The less Ds and Ps, the more FTTF they can sell to make money. Wait.... oh..... never mind.
  12. Just to be clear.... can you check in for someone at midnight to get arrival times WITHOUT any of their passport info? And then go back the next day to put it all in?
  13. Great thanks. It's our first suite and it could be a one time thing for us, and our chance to be amongst the first on board. Looks like the 9:30 SAS transport will work for us!
  14. But there's a correlation between earlier arrival time and earlier boarding group.
  15. Thanks. If all is going smoothly, what time does boarding generally start?
  16. Except we would leave dinner 30+minutes later and still be near the front of the line for a good seat. It was very strange.
  17. The earlier the check in time the sooner you can be in the ship enjoying food and drink. Purple also enjoy exploring a mostly empty trip.
  18. We had some ridiculously slow brunch service pre covid. I'm talking over 30 minutes to take our order. We complained to the maitra d a few times. They apologized, assigned their "top server" to take over, and things stated moving Pronto. We came back the next day, maitra d remembered us, and assigned us to the same "top server" and had great service - and heard other tables complaining amongst themselves about slow service. I guess, at times, squeaky wheel gets the grease.
  19. I’d also email their special needs department. They have been very helpful to us. access@carnival.com
  20. Given that the gym is usually almost completely empty…. I wouldn’t call it popular.
