  1. We use bottled water for sone of the excursions, like the hike through the jungle of st. Kitts. As we hike, and start to tire out, the full bottles in our hiking msg is replaced with empty bottles. But for the ship we use tap At local store, gallon of Distilled water went from $0.88 to $2.50 in the last few months.
  2. This is very helpful! We will try for the family suite. Can't wait for the 2024 itineraries to come out.
  3. In my cruise menu, it's listed as an option, along with excursions, fly2fun, fun shops, etc., but when I click on it, it says 0 items available.
  4. We're a family of 5, and hoping to book when dates are released, so we're doing a lot of research fast! Based on 2023 itineraries, we're looking at a Sapphire Princess cruisetour. I see on the deck plans that the ship has two family suites for 6, but I can't find a sailing that has these cabins available. I'm guessing they go fast. How hard is it to book these cabins? And, how much more would it be to be in one of these (or would it be cheaper?), as opposed to us being split up into 2 cabins?
  5. Yes.... except the markup is so much on drinks that in the price range we are talking about, higher revenue is a suitable surrogate endpoint for profit. The only caveat is they need to keep the price of cheers above the level where, on average, customers pay more for cheers than they would if they had to pay out of pocket for drinks.
  6. I wonder if this means FTTF will be returning soon, as well. FTTF is still listed as a category for pre-cruise spending, so one would think they plan on bringing back this pure profit item.
  7. If lowering price increases sales of cheers resulting in more revenue.... then yes
  8. Early port days will have earlier breakfast options.
  9. They might have a black Friday sale on some pre-cruise items to stimulate spending. Likely candidates are: - spa (I got a discount on this last week) - gift baskets (like treats) - pixels - celebration packages Excursions also, but I think less likely than the other. Cheers actually is a possibility. With so many people choosing a rate that includes it, cheers sales may be slow. It'll depend on if the economists conclude whether a lower cost would increase or decrease revenue.
  10. Thanks for the info. As suggested: @Saint Greg do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
  11. We staying at hyatt place dania Beach. There's a lot of places to eat within walking distance. Also about 5 other hotels right by there, as well.
  12. You can go to the MDR after boarding to ask to change your assignment. The times available used to be in the Fun Times, not sure if they still are. They will make requested changes if there is availability.
  13. We recently had a couple similar incidents. We ordered a single item, paid for a single item, and they sent us a carton of 6 of the item. I contacted them, and they said they had no way for me to send them back the 5 extra, and i should just keep it. Another time I ordered something. Never shows up, and after a month shipping company stated it was lost. Seller gave me a refund. Two months later it suprisingly shows up. I contacted seller and they said they was no way for then to charge me for it, and that I should just keep it. It seems it's worth it for a lot of businesses to just eat the loss than try to fix the problem in the computer.
  14. Yes, we booked the hyatt place in dania Beach. 91 SW 18th Ave, Dania Beach, FL 33004 There's a sprouts farmers market near by that has a nice selection. I'd check their hours though if you want to go early morning.
  15. Yep, we co-own the 100 shares. We're not in separate staterooms this trip, but we could be in the future.
  16. From the thread title, I thought the question was going to be: If the stock is in both of our names, and we are in different staterooms, can we both get the OBC? I'm guessing the answer to this one is no.
  17. We have never been to New Orleans before. We're sailing on the Glory Aug 13. Flying in on Sat Aug 12. Cruise returns on Sun Aug 20, but with 6 of us, and air fare about $120pp more on a Sunday, we'll stay over until Mon, or maybe Tues, depending on the hotel rate and if there's something particular we'd like to do for the day. Southwest doesn't have their schedule out that far yet, but, based on July's schedule, it looks like we'll arrive on Aug 12 at 2:45 pm, and depart for home at either 11:15 am or 4:45 pm. We're taking my 82 year old father-in-law with us on this trip, he's never been on a cruise before, but always wanted to, so travel plans need to take his mobility into account. He can walk fine, just not very long distances. We also have 3 kids. We want to all stay in one vehicle, so uber/lyft is out. In considering hotels and transports, convenience is the most important consideration. Questions: 1. What areas should we look at for pre and post cruise hotels? 2. Transport recommendations: MSY to hotel / hotel to port / port to hotel / hotel to MSY 3. Would renting a car be more trouble than it's worth? With 6 of us plus luggage, we'd need something really big. 4. Ideas for spending the Sunday upon our return, Monday morning if we take the 4:45 flight, all day Monday if we go home Tues, and maybe Tues morning Thanks!
  18. I called for a price drop request last week. $30 difference. Both the old and new rates have a $50 OBC. Both rates are early saver. Carnival to said I could get the price adjustment, but the $50 OBC for the new rate was for "new bookings only. " Therefore, the rep said that switching to the new rate would be a net $20 increase. Was I given correct info? Even if the rep was wrong, if you call for a price drop, confirm you will get any OBC with the new rate.
  19. Except... is person B still going on the cruise? If they don't go on the cruise, I believe their excursion tickets will be automatically refunded. If they will be on the cruise but just would like to skip the excursion, then pp is correct; tickets can easily be transferred (as long as it's adult to adult, or child to child).
  20. July 2023: Celebration ABC island crusie, 8 days, would be about $1200 more than the Horizon cruise we booked (S. Carribean) for our family of 5
  21. Best part about this... No more threads about verify
  22. There are a couple ports, including Baltimore, that can't accommodate a ship bigger than spirit class. So, I doubt they'll be gone completely anytime soon. Question is, when they do get too old to sail (and they are still quite a bit younger than remaining fantasy class) will they give up on those ports or build new ships of that size.
